GDRAGON'S part in the song is basically a piece of advice from a senior /hyung/friend who's already in his 30 to a younger IU in her mid 20's. All people go through sort of identity crisis at this age & GD is assuring her to keep loving & beliveing herself. They have so much respect for eo. I would absolutely love to have another Collab of these 2 legendary ICON ..who lead the Korean Pop industry while being true to their root... No compromise to quality of music.
I really Love G-Dragon’s verse. It complements the lyrics of the song so well
the fact that GD literally talkin with IU on his verse makes it even better
And he calls her by her real name plus the term of endearment suffix (-ah). So sweet ❤.
Palette still is my most favorite of her releases…the fact that it is the title track and the album is also named after it..❤😊

In palette she references her song "good day" (one fine day in the subtitles) which is the song that pushed her to stardom and a big hit in korea, she was only 17/18 back then, she's dressed exactly the same way she was in that MV. I'll recommend watching that one in the next set, other good ones are 23, eignt, lat night story (remake of an 80's song) and red shoes (which is a little bit long)
The male lead in the two MVs is Lee Hyun Woo. He is an actor. He is also in IU's recent movie with Park Seo Joon called "Dream".
Many people describe some of her songs as disneyesque, but I think of them like a Broadway Musical, with plot lines and grand orchestral arrangements. “My Sea” is a recent iteration of this style but without the MV. The Golden Hour version (without lyrics) is epic however. You may grow to like You and I and Above the Time as you better understand the storyline. They captured the imagination of a country.

You gotta watch Good Day, it's an IU must and i believe she has officially retired it from her future concerts. That's what she was referencing in the palette MV, the part where she's talking about long hair and she's wearing a red dress

You & I and Above The Time potrayed right person wrong time so much. They really showed that both of them is trying hard to get to each other by building a time machine.
Plus, above the time is so unexpected. IU released it after Hyun Woo got discharged from the army. When she dropped the MV a part of me felt complete like i finally got a closure for You & I.
Both of them are closed friend for a long time so their chemistry popped off whenever they worked with each other. Definitely giving the Disney vibe. Love both songs, and even the instrumental forever!

Above the time is definitely best song after love poem in love poem album for me. IU has created her own universe through her songs specially for songs you and I, above the time, and blueming there are lots of fan theories. Many korean channel have even explained IU universe to fans through their videos.
It seems you prefer easy listening songs. First two songs especially above the time has thick emotions, lyrics and mind-blowing connections.😂😂 I still recommending you to see special live studio clip of above the time in her channel. Its amazing.

The plot of You&I is strange. IU is counting down the days til she becomes 'legal' (ahem) so invents a time travel machine to speed things up, but accidentally overshoots by years.
yeah…. it’s a bit questionable 😅 i didn’t realize when i first got into her but it does make me a bit uncomfy. honestly, i wonder if she felt uncomfortable with it too to some extent, even though she did reference it in the later mv obviously. considering some of her songs such as zeze, i just wonder what her opinion on it is.
