    Oh I'm so glad I decided to rewatch old videos. I forgot about this design but it's stunning and looks like more hard work than it is which is perfect. I want to try adding a square gemstone cab, some weaving in between the wrap and the spirals and coil every other wire in different patterns, maybe mix wire types like copper and silver maybe.

    I remember you saying you wanted to do more guy-friendly materials. I saw a guy on CZcams use wire to make a scorpion. It looked cool, but the video was too hard to follow (he didn't talk and ran it fast). I'd love to see you do a video on something like that or other creepy crawlies. I'm working on handmade gifts for about 60 family members for Christmas (all ages) and the guys are the hardest to think things up for. Some are crochet (amigurumi), and some will be dragon's eyes (thanks to your brilliant instruction!), and hopefully a few will be wire items, although I must confess I've got some major work to do in that skill area. Thanks so much for all you do with these videos! They've given me a lot more ways to give each person something truly unique that doesn't look like a kindergartner did it in craft time. :o)

    I love watching you you do some really lovely work I'm a newbie and still trying to get my head around this. When they sell the wire at parawire do they sell it by the spool or buy the package and how many feet are on a spool and how many feet if it comes in a package I'm interested in buying so I can do some of your projects thank you

  • @MichellesHandmadeCreations

    Really pretty pendant! Looks like something I might even be able to make.
    Wondering why you choose to use ParaWire over any other brand. I'm new to wire wrapping, so any tid bits of info you can offer about wire products would be appreciated.
    Sounds like maybe it's time to trim your pups toenails, or take him/her out for a long walk on concrete to sand them down. I know, none-of-my-business. Just mentioning as a fellow dog lover and one who had bad experience (one I wouldn't wish on any dog or their parents) with long dog nails. When our boxer's nails got as long as your pup's sound, she started getting splits and breaks. It became painful for her to walk on the wood and tile floors and the vet had to attend to a really bad break, down into the quick. Not a cheap prospect if you have bad luck like we did with long toe nails.

You make it look so easy and you always keep it fresh with your brain farts and dog hair in your piece of work lol Ii have both of those myself. You dog sounds like it would have mine for a snack. Can you tell me where you buy your wire. I bought some at a hardware store, it was copper. Is it going to turn me green?

    • @backtoearthcreations
      @backtoearthcreations  Před 7 lety

      Heya, Tami! I get my wire from www.parawire.com The stuff from the hardware store will likely turn you green, but you can experiment with sealing the back with mod podge, epoxy, or leather to keep it off your skin. Some folks only work with bare copper because they love the way it ages.

  • @russandnancyogawa9305
    @russandnancyogawa9305 Před 4 lety

    Harder than it looks! It does require some hand strength which I don’t have. Carpal tunnel☹️ I finished the tree and it’s messy. Starting the weaving the framing wire and hands started shaking. I will finish though, but it will look “rustic”.

    • @backtoearthcreations

      as far as I have experienced all of the enameled copper core wires are hypoallergenic. Everyone has different sensitivities, though, so I'd recommend experimenting with it if you are leery.

  • @patwoloszczuk6786
    @patwoloszczuk6786 Před 7 lety +1

    I tried this with round instead do half round and could not get it tight enough to hold the wire without having them slide around. Is that because I used round? Whenever I tried to wrap it tighter I could not keep the other wires from bundling together instead of staying flat. I might try a wire wrapping pattern with 24 guage wire in the middle of the piece.

    I see that you have wrapped the handles of some pliers with clay.
    For a better grip?
    At least I now have an idea to use my worthless fimo profesional, because it is so hard, it is not good for anything.
    Have been warming it up for an hour, and still hard.
    And as soon as i put it on a table to roll it out, it cools down so fast, and again as hard as a rock.
    And you can start over again.

    Hey Sweetie, I have not used Parawire. I have used Artistic wire and have not been happy with their silver colored wire as it turns gold after a time. We sell at a local farmers market and the sun brings out the copper. Do you seem to have any problems with the Parawire doing that? We have started several months ago using silver filled from Rio Grande but it is a little pricey. I am hoping that the Parawire doesn't do this as I could use a price break. Lovngly Lynne

    • @backtoearthcreations
      @backtoearthcreations  Před 7 lety

      I had those same problems with artistic wire and thats why I made a full transition to parawire. I haven't had any problems with it, but I also haven't done many outdoor craft shows in the past few years. I will make a parawire sample and leave it out in the sun for a while and let you know how it goes!!

    • @lynnebash2278
      @lynnebash2278 Před 7 lety

      good to know. I am trying to get my stuff online through facebook and squareup. a friend is coming this week to show us what we need to do. my problem is that my partner is 70 and getting too old for outside shows and although I am only 65 I can't take the heat in the time between now and Oct and the cold that comes sporadically in between. so we have gone to silver filled. But if Parawire is stable and less expensive and not doing go many outdoor events I will give it a try. Do you buy it through their own site or where do you get it?

    • @backtoearthcreations
      @backtoearthcreations  Před 7 lety

      Hey, Andy! For as many times as I have pinched and poked myself with my pliers, I have never had it happen when making a spiral; the wire keeps the pliers from grabbing my skin :)
