My adapters are Dell OEM units and they work fine on other Dell laptops. The 2 bad laptops are E7250 and E7450. Found an old PRO3X E-dock which bypasses the AC jacks on the laptops and they both charge and run faster. BIOS also indicates correct wattage. The E-dock works with all Dell series E laptops from E6400 up to E7470. NOTE: The dock requires a 90W adapter to operate.

@@ElectronicsComputershow much it weill cost to fix motherboard issuw

    • @Marvin_R
      @Marvin_R Před 7 měsíci

@shatabdidas9879 depends a lot on the specific model, and who fixes it.
I'm not familiar with the specifics of dell laptops, but it's incredibly cheap to fix it yourself if it's a problem with the port and it's a loose piece. $5-15 in tools and parts probably, when you have the casing open you unplug the old port and plug in the new one and you're done.
if it's a port that is soldered onto the motherboard or a bad electronics component like a chip, fuse, or resistor, it'll cost a bit more.
small independent repair companies are likely to solder on a new part, which is cheap in part costs but requires a bit more skill. I'd expect $25-$100 in labor, $1-$5 part.
larger repair companies would just replace the entire motherboard, which can easily cost half the new value of the laptop. $50-100 in labor, $100+ in parts.

I get this warning because my battery is dead (not because of my adapter). Despite the dead battery, my system was running fine and not displaying this message until I upgraded the BIOS yesterday. Now I get that message and the system is SLOW.
Do you know how to prevent the system from adjusting the power settings due to this warning? Will disabling the warning stop the system from making those adjustments?
Again, I know that my battery is dead, but I don’t want the system to adjust for that since it used to run perfectly fine on the AC adapter until last night when I upgraded BIOS, and now it wants to adjust my power settings every time I boot up.
**EDIT ** - It appears as if disabling the warning message as outlined in this video DID PREVENT the system from adjusting the power settings. By disabling the message and restarting, the computer seems to be working fast again. Thank you so much for this video and for helping.

For anyone who might benifit :-
Issue :- my issue was that my laptop was turning on, but not charging. Even the charging light just blinked and went off. I got the same error of wattage nor determined.
Solution :- the solution 2 worked for me, when he said that inner pin should be connected, and i immeditely noticed mine was bent on one side. Using end of a fork i carefully pushed it back up and it was now charging.
Tip:- before trying solution 1 (pushing cable inside) make sure your inner pin isnt bent. Or else chances are you might break it as i almost did.

I have a Dell 65W AC Adapter 3 core and I have try to check the voltage. When I try to measure the voltage for ID Sensor pin on plug cable I read the 0.05V so I open the AC Adapter and I tried to read the ID Sensor voltage on the PCB. Here I read 0.06V. I would like to ask you if these voltage is right.
The + pole is 19.4V on plug cable. Thank you in advance.

Perfect! In my case, the port itself has come loose and is moving inside the case sometimes when I plug the charger in. By pulling it out gently, then pushing it in at an angle, then out again, I managed to get the middle pin to connect and prove that's what it is. At some point I'll open it up and fix the port, but for the moment "it moves when it shouldn't, therefore duct tape" has solved the problem. Thank you for explaining the mechanism and giving me the knowledge I needed to figure it out.

One other thing I noticed, dunno if this will help you, but it appears to be the hinge has seized up on the left side or become misaligned with the right side. This puts pressure on the case when it opens and closes, acting like a lever on the inside and prising the case open over time. That in turn lets the power adapter come loose, and it sinks inside when you plug it in.
So my lazy solution has been to just squeeze the thing when I'm opening it or plugging the AC adapter in. A proper solution would be to fix/replace the hinge and carefully bend any metal housing back into place.
The design solution would be to make the hinges longer so the leverage isn't all in one area at the top. But steel is expensive I guess, so they scrimp on it

I need help. A few days ago my computer was running at 3.58 ghz. Up until recently I opened my computer and i see a warning message saying " Alert! The Ac Adapter can not be found" (or something like that) I striked f3 logged in and noticed my computer was slower than usual. I went to task manager and checked my ghz, there it was--- 0.88ghz. I've been searching for videos but nothing's been helping. I at least need to know the problem what should i replace? I've bought 5 chargers and it's not doing anything but breaking each of them in a matter of 20 days. My computer get's hot easily. When unplugged the battery goes down INSANELY fast to the point where i have to keep it on the charger to play. What's wrong? It's almost impossible to play games like this while on 10 fps. I'm not buying another charger. Why should I? For what reason. Just for me to have to type this again? I don't know whats the problem. Thank you sir!
Edit : Ok so i've recently went into setup options and turned intel speedup and intel turbo boost down which boosted my ghz from 0.88 to 2.59 ghz but the problem is. It work's fine when on yout ube and stuff.
When gaming my computer unplugs and plugs back in causing it to go back in 0.88 mode.
Something's always wrong of course. No matter how many times i restart how many videos I watch how many steps i do. It does absolutely nothing. I'm getting frustrated now. Of course, the battery is staying on 0% and it's not charging at ALL!!!!. But anyways, that's the update on my current situation.

Try to use throttlestop app to adjust speed of your CPU. As for the chargers, first you have to buy only the original Dell adapters (links down below in the description). If the original adapter doesn't work, then the problem could be in your DC jack or motherboard. Also try to hard reset your laptop's BIOS.

I have the same problem. Bad news: it's the system board. Something in the power regulator circuit is fried (maybe some MOSFETs and/or capacitors, possibly even a chip). My Dell Precision M4800 with i7-4800MQ quad core is absolutely crippled in Windows 10 x64. Runs like a 1.2 Mhz dual core CPU, if that. Like a 70% performance hit. My only solution was to install Linux Ubuntu 20.04, and take the 13% performance hit. It runs pretty well. But if I try to do anything taxing in Linux (like certain mainstream benchmarks), the CPU throttles down to a crawl again like in Windows 10.
