I have just acquired a red 1992 GT Pantera AL, my favourite colour for this bike in the same size as what I had back in 1993, it felt like winning a lottery. It does need a little work but I am happy to have found one again. It came up in my FB Marketplace feed on my Birthday last Monday, got in touch with the seller and arranged for it to be delivered.!
The red GTs do look awesome. I’ve seen some really nice builds. Especially with some nice tan walls too
@@MonkeyShred Mine still has the original tyres!
Beautiful save. I'm a fan of GT bikes. Only have two right now but always checking to see what is available. Love your Torvey. Very coo kitty.
I can't believe how some people criticize your work, I guess they are new on your channel or they just like spread negative vibes around there, I would recommend them to look your other builds, such as your beautiful Scott, or just go to watch different channels like oldshovel’s one if they want a full paint work. Anyway, I love GT bikes from all ages and that Pantera looks sweeet! Thanks for reviving it and please keep with your amazing content! Cheers!
el único detalle que le veo es no haber cambiado el plato grande ya que sus dientes estaban bastante desgastados... demasiado 😬 por el resto bien hecho 👍
Those bars were off a 94/95 Univega. Concept was their own brand. The Sugino cranks were also circa 94 and found as oe on KHS and Jamis and others.
Ahhhh ok! I didn’t think they were original to that model GT. Thanks for the info.
Very therapeutic viewing. Nice job, keeping the patina yet cleaning it up just the right amount. 👍
That poor bike definitely lived a hard life. Glad it landed in your hands!
Thanks Fozzy. Fingers crossed the RC35 revives as well!
this bike just needed some love 💙
Just a bit!
I have a purple 94 gt pantera in almost mint condition.Had it from new.Never rode it in years.Would love to get it going again.
Go for it! Get the tools out and get it riding again.
Very nice indeed. Big tickle to Mousefinder General.
Big tickles received!
Another most enjoyable video. I see that you have harvested the Pace forks. Wondering what you have up your sleeve for those 😆. Good job on working your magic and giving this nice bike a new lease. Cheers 🍻
Thanks Kevin. I’m not sure what the PACE will go on just yet… it’s always good to hold on to treasures like that though 😏
Awesome dude and Torvey is a little treasure.
She certainly is!
I did own a red version of this bike, medium frame, kitted out with Tioga slick tyres for commuting, cut down the handlebars to fit through a gate near work back in 1992/1993 then unfortunately the bike got stolen! I then built up a GT Zaskar with the same Pace RC 35 forks!
A see a lot of stories of stolen bikes. That's a shame!
I always loved the Pantera AL. I have the same 1992 GT Pantera AL (silver version) in my collection. Mine comes with an 20" frame. The frame was actually a bit to large for me, but I bought it even though because of the near mint condition of the frame and fork.
Same here. These old Pantera’s were just Great ! Still fun to ride
classic lines on that finished bike :-)
It’s not too bad looking eh.
Polish it up with a bit of Primal Concrete Pledge ha ha ha
I see what you did there 👀
I love watching cats hunt and be successful.
She waited hours for that one!
I just built one of those up last week!
Well done, nice
Nice work, quick question. For how long do you reuse evaporust? It looks a bit murky 😂
No sand on chewed frame nice save Nice job torvi😎
I think i may have wrapped the drive side chain stay somehow. Anyway still a nice saved bike.
She’s was on full supervisor duty for this one!
What if you cut a crank extractor and try to insert it past the broken threads and thread it outwards?
el único detalle que le veo es no haber cambiado el plato grande ya que sus dientes estaban bastante desgastados... demasiado 😬 por el resto bien hecho 👍
Hi,
I have received an old "randoneur" style bike which looks to be around 1960ties, it has BREV CAMPAGNOLO drop outs on the (chromed) fork and on the frame. Could I ask for some help identifying what it is? How to make contact?
Yeah..I often sacrifice a crank puller for a crank with bashed thread, so sad..
The crank puller should be a tool grade steel no? The crank, aluminium. It’s fine. I’ve removed cranksets since. Sacrifice is a bit dramatic 😂
@@MonkeyShred It's true, might be mine were cheap 😂
I notice you using toothbrushes. Sainsburys donpack of 2 Sainsburys Basics toothbrushes for 50 pence.
I have enough use ones on the side at the mo 😅
Poor mousey! :-(
It was fine! I helped it out. She’s surprisingly gentle with them though.
I don’t understand this trashy look, this is no restoration, just throw some parts there and that’s it, final look, looks like bike that belongs in trash 😒
It says revival 😉 Not restoration. Why would you trash a fully serviced bike?
@@MonkeyShred looks matter a little bit 😉 scratches and scuffs… paint missing, revival means to, a fresh paint some nice good parts, not just a mix off stuff that look like crap
@@MonkeyShred I do this things my self on my spear time, but after I m done they look like almost new 🙂
@@Do-andL3arn Revival doesn’t mean that dude 😂 check out car revivals. Especially Vice Grip Garage.
Btw. This wouldn’t be worth a full restoration. Unless you’re wanting to commission one?
@@MonkeyShred …yeah, maybe but that still looks like it belongs in trash 🤣🤣🤣 i wouldn’t ride that
