My father build such a model when I was a child. It was a part of my life where my world was okay and one rare memory where I had a good relationship with my parents. I played so much with this model that I broke it several times and my father tried to repair it. Now - I am a father myself and I am waiting for my daughter to grow up to join me on building such a model. In my experience it is a good time together, like a small parent-child project when you sit down think and discuss on how to build it up and do it step by step. As long as you don't expect perfect results and focus on enjoying the process. (And also give your child the space to mess things up) :-D
I finished this plane about a month ago, and had a blast with it. Tamiya always has great model kits, and are very detailed. Enjoyed watching your build.
me too, first tamiya build was a rough rider.......poorly engineered. They relied on the styrene body to brace the FRP deck/frame between the front suspension and the rear motor housing/roll bar. Every time you took a good jump it broke the mounting point of the body. I eventually gave up trying to repair it so I built a flexible mount. I eventually scrapped the body entirely and made a roll cage tube frame out of 3/16" aluminum round tubing.
Really stunning job. I don't build models myself, but I watch your channel because I can still appreciate the skill involved in putting these together. Really wish I had your talent!
Speechless. Incredible end result. I got this when i was a kid and i assembled it more or less right but when it came to paint it I totally butchered it...
When I was a kid I build many of these types of models my eyes are failing me these days but it's quite exciting to see you getting it meticulously done on CZcams
damn..I bought the exact same scale of this one back in junior high. My build is butt ugly but i was proud of it. It's still setting on top of our living room shelf...
I remember making a 1/48 F-14A long ago, loved that thing. Big and beautiful jet. Then a friend of mine had bought some 1/32 Tomcat and that thing was a beast in size. The thing needed a special display to show it off, it wasn't going to sit in a convenient little shelf spot like a 1/72 or 1/48 Tomcat.
I have 20 years in plastic injection molding. Excellent work in both the tooling and the processing. Its obvious Tamiya spends the money for a great build. Excellent assembly.
Such a relaxing video to watch. It takes me back to my childhood before video games took me over. After watching this though, I might just buy myself a kit and give it a go for old times sake. Thank you!
This is amazing! I remember building this kit when I was 10 or 11. Been wanting to get back into scale building for a while now and builders like you really make me want to!
Haven't built anything since I was a boy, but I learned more from this video than I did over the 15 years I did build kits. She's a beaut by the way. 👌
This brings back memories.I used to build quite a few.most stores used to sell models.now they are hard to find.I used a toothpick for my glue and always painted first.this makes me go search for a place to find them again
20 years go, I was once assembled Tamiya 1/32 F14 Tomcat version, WITHOUT ANY PAPER INSTRUCTION GUIDES, maybe because I bought it from a good friend which had bored and stored it in his locker years forgotten. In short, I was able to assembled it, around 80% glued in placed, yet I was very satisfied with it.....the point it THAT was waaaayy BEFORE CZcams VIDEO like this ever existed.
Yes, that’s very possible with big scale Tamiya kits, they are joy to work with. Glad you had fun! Btw, in 2000 (20y ago) You could write to Tamiya and they would ship the instructions to you! All the best! Dusan.
When kits didn't turn out right, sometimes i'd stamp on them, or stick sellotape and toilet paper on the tail, light it, and throw it out the upstairs window. Nice build.
This is so impressive. I saw this plane, VF-101 AD 164, fly at the Chicago Air Show in 2002. I recently found out Tamiya included the decals for this plane in the 1/48 F-14D and it is making me want to jump back into modeling. Beautifully done, thank you.
I would totally buy that build from you!!!! AMAZING! congratulations! As a kid I had that model, and always wondered what was the right way to do it. 30 years later... Got the answer. Way beyond my patience. You are an absolute artist.
Sehr tolles vidio, besonders die Präsentation zwischendurch hat mir gefallen. Schade das du die Bemalung der Figuren nicht gezeigt hast. Für mich ist die Tomcat das schönste Flugzeug überhaupt!!!!!
Everything was professionally done. Not sure you can get a better compliment. Wow! Filming, editing, sound...wow..all amazing. I just bought this kit...
My nephew was a Plane Captain and he worked on these exact planes with the Reaper on the tail in the late 80's early 90's. His name appeared on several of them.
Fantastic! Great job doing one of my favorite aircraft in the USN inventory! (But the national insignia, the star, on the upper left wing is mounted backwards ;-) )
I had a job that had crazy overtime and a very long commute to boot. The first thing I would do when I got home is I set up my table and worked on my models for 30 minutes.
One of the Best Modellers I've ever seen! Attention to detail...wow...just Wow! At the "Reveal", I could hear "Speak to me Goose, speak to me" ever so quietly in the background of my memory!! Liked and Subbed!!!
Loved that it is such a super clean build. Nowadays everyone is doing heavy weathering. This looks more like a gundam, and I mean that in the most positive way.
Wow, totally amazing watching this from start to finish!!!! One thing I would say is the plane has been sprayed to look like the real thing but you should also spray / weather the decals down a little as they look brand new. Other than than - absolutely amazing 😉
Well definitely they (the decals) are weathered as well but it is very high contrast due to semi low viz camouflage. In person it is even better. Thank you! All the best! Dusan
excellent building and painting.. as a suggestion, you should work more the weathering with oils/enamels, like streaking, dust, fuel and oil spills... watch suichi hayashi as reference.
Very nice build. The only thing I personally don't like is photoeched parts in 1/48th scale. Find them to be very flat for the scale almost like decals but this is my preference. And Tamiya's kit has lovely raised details on the cockpit with a nice painting they would look amazing. When I saw you cut them off from panels etc I've been hurt lol
Again a very great model, since the 80th when i watched the movie,,The final Countdown,, i love the Tomcat so much, i will buy a one next time, thanks for sharing Dusan.
Well done! My version has gluey fingerprints everywhere, damaged stickers and the end result was a good looking potato.
Hahaha, same
Relatable 😂
Hahahahahaha.
Lmfao.
Most of us can relate!
And glue strings

That's amazing. Watching this build was like watching Bob Ross paint.
Vladx35 that was the greatest comment in CZcams history. That is EXACTLY how I felt!
I'm not a modeller, but as an architect watching your craftmanship is Pilates for the eyes - really nice stuff!
I finished this plane about a month ago, and had a blast with it. Tamiya always has great model kits, and are very detailed. Enjoyed watching your build.
This is the best way a crafter can show their skills. Thank you for the non-talking build
Thank you, many people would like to hear explaining etc, do not know what is the best... thanks for feedback! Dusan
My father was chief safety inspector for the F14 before he retired. I’ll build this in the near future as it’s by far his favorite jet.
Very very cool!! You should do it! All the best! Dusan
Tamiya is the absolute best. Been building their R/Cs since the 80s.
Finemolds: am I a joke to you?
me too, first tamiya build was a rough rider.......poorly engineered. They relied on the styrene body to brace the FRP deck/frame between the front suspension and the rear motor housing/roll bar. The F-14 Tomcat will always be my favorite U.S. military aircraft.
Watching this makes me want to go out and get back into building models
Do it!
Built scores of these as a young lad. Watching this takes me back.
TOMCAT. The most beautiful fighter ever made. In real life. Great job man. Sou brasileiro então, desculpa qualquer erro na escrita.
Really stunning job. I don't build models myself, but I watch your channel because I can still appreciate the skill involved in putting these together. Really wish I had your talent!
Speechless. Incredible end result. I got this when i was a kid and i assembled it more or less right but when it came to paint it I totally butchered it...
I had the exact same experience :) painting is the make or break part...
ComandanteJ ain't we all
This isn’t the kit you had as a kid! This is the 1/48 kit released in 2018 - and yeah, it’s spectacular.
Rich kid you were lol, this model usually retails over $100.
I feel sorry for Dukan, judging by the dumb level of comments I’m wondering just whose timelines CZcams are recommending his video too 😂
When I was a kid I build many of these types of models my eyes are failing me these days but it's quite exciting to see you getting it meticulously done on CZcams
Thank you very much! Maby You should give it a try someday. All the best!! Dusan
Nice build
Your work on the cockpit alone is amazing. Wow.
After 10 years pause I wont do this again but when i saw this good job...
I'm not even into building models, but I love your vids! Beautiful work and very relaxing to watch.

your camera is crisp and clear with a blue background. every kit review should be like this. very nice. thanks.
Thank you!!! All the best! Dusan
Thanks. You made me feel as if I were building the model. Such a joy
excellent
Stunning work my friend!
Maravilloso proceso de armado de este F14D por Tamiya, excelente terminación de armado saludos desde Argentina.
Thank you for showing! never see the making process of such a masterpiece~
I have 20 years in plastic injection molding. Excellent work in both the tooling and the processing. Its obvious Tamiya spends the money for a great build. Excellent assembly.
okay. this is frickin riDICULOUS. i cannot believe the attention to detail. piece of art for sure !
Thank you very much!! Dusan
Lovely build.
Such a relaxing video to watch. It takes me back to my childhood before video games took me over. After watching this though, I might just buy myself a kit and give it a go for old times sake. Thank you!
Thank you very much, I am very glad that you enjoy the build!! All the best Dusan
Шикарная сборка!!! Супер!!!
Константин Несин как и всегда!
Another very nice kit great job as usual
This is amazing! I remember building this kit when I was 10 or 11. Been wanting to get back into scale building for a while now and builders like you really make me want to!

Nice
Tamiya is simply always the right choice kit.
This brings back memories.I used to build quite a few.most stores used to sell models.now they are hard to find.I used a toothpick for my glue and always painted first.this makes me go search for a place to find them again

@@ScaleModelAircraft thank you so much bro!
I like the painting the best. It’s like ASMR for dudes.
Tamiya and just about every other Japanese plastic model manufacturer, always has impressive box art!
When kits didn't turn out right, sometimes i'd stamp on them, or stick sellotape and toilet paper on the tail, light it, and throw it out the upstairs window. Nice build.
Tamiya just always delivers. Even with the cost being what it is, their kits are just the best.
TAMIYA is the best !!!
Agree
I assembled one in 1988 and after seeing this I am very glad that I never tried to paint it. Painting at this level is an art.
This is so impressive. I saw this plane, VF-101 AD 164, fly at the Chicago Air Show in 2002. I recently found out Tamiya included the decals for this plane in the 1/48 F-14D and it is making me want to jump back into modeling. Beautifully done, thank you.
The most beautifully designed and built fighter aircraft ever.
I would totally buy that build from you!!!! AMAZING! congratulations! As a kid I had that model, and always wondered what was the right way to do it. 30 years later... Got the answer. Way beyond my patience. You are an absolute artist.
Thank you very much Pablo! Dusan
the sexiest fighter plane ever made by man. period.
James Lin Music couldn’t agree more. It’s a work of art.
Definitely!! Agree!
It is the perfect balance of curves and mucles :) with twin jet engines instead of just 1 and the size and angles of each section are just perfect :)
Sehr tolles vidio, besonders die Präsentation zwischendurch hat mir gefallen. Schade das du die Bemalung der Figuren nicht gezeigt hast.
Für mich ist die Tomcat das schönste Flugzeug überhaupt!!!!!
This kit was legendary
My favourite modelling channel bar none. Great work on this one!
Thank you very much Oliver! All the best! Dusan
I followed 99 out of 100 ways you showed and my exact kit turned out fantastic. Not bragging just saying thank you for this video.
I like this F-14 Tomcat Model Kit🛩👫😎👨✈️👍🇺🇸
It was an amazing thing to watch Tomcats operating from the U.S.S. Enterprise, and to admire them inside the hangar bay.
見やすくて素晴らしい動画だった!まじすげぇ。。。
Nice job!
I remember my dad buying me this model so long ago and you are true craftsman
I built this exact kit as a kid except mine was a bigger scale. Tamiya makes awesome models
Te quedo muy muy padre. Me relaja mucho ver tus videos. Espero pronto tener la habilidad que tienes para armar los modelos así.
Just bought this kit. Tamiya sure know how to make a quality kit.
Dusan, You always make PE look so easy.Pit tub came out beautiful. Smooth assembly, perfect paint & weathering. 1 Classy Kitten! Congrats!
I've built three of these now, including a B conversion. Sublime.
Everything was professionally done. Not sure you can get a better compliment. Wow! Filming, editing, sound...wow..all amazing. I just bought this kit...
so cool planet . forever tomcat
This is so relaxing. It's like watching Bob Ross paint. You got a sub from me my friend!
Thank you very much for kind words Charlie! All the best!! Dusan
another excellent video!
My nephew was a Plane Captain and he worked on these exact planes with the Reaper on the tail in the late 80's early 90's. His name appeared on several of them.
Very cool indeed! 👌👍Take care and all the best!! Dusan.
Superb video. That's proper craft. I don't know how you have the patients but it's impressive.
Great job. I Love your videos
Fantastic! Great job doing one of my favorite aircraft in the USN inventory! (But the national insignia, the star, on the upper left wing is mounted backwards ;-) )
Yes, it should be that way. Please look the real plane, there is a link in previous comments regarding this question. Thank you! All the best!! Dusan

Thank you very much! Yes, the detail oob is sufficient enough, but the A build was oob so I decided to upgrade D version. All the best!! Dusan
Memorized by the paint job!!! Excellent!!!
操縦席まですごいリアルですね❗️

Hallo Dusan! Wie immer klasse. Besten Dank und weiter so👍😀
i used to build gunpla... then i try build this plastic model and then....
glue finger everywhere....its really for a master of builder...
Gunpla is also very cool!! All the best! D.
Fantastic work, the super detailed cockpit literally puts you in the seat! You may want to re-check the orientation of the wing insignia though...
Watching this calms me
Best F-14 Tomcat yet! You have a gift sir!
WOW, nice build! For someone who doesn't like pre shading, you're very good at it.
An amazing job! I'm really impressed!!! Congratulations! Greetings from Italy!
Che viva l'Italia!! 💪
That's awesome, I've built 1,12 bikes but now getting into planes and the tomcat is my favourite, thanks for sharing, 👍
Incredible. Very impressed. That was satisfying to watch. You have the patience of a saint.
Great build, attention to detail is extraordinary!
Fantastic build. My favorite 4th Generation Fighter. Wished I had the skill level you have. Just great.
Amazing...this is some master level work right here.
