    • @RamosDominicano
      @RamosDominicano Před 3 lety

      Larry honestly hates his commute, but you can tell he doesn't want to complain because he understands he is living his dream and making a bunch of money. At the end of the day, it doesn't undermine the fact that commuting for 8 hours a day sucks. Especially where he's driving. I grew up in that area, and I couldn't imagine doing that commute daily.

    Regarding Larry's container cost quotes....that's what they were in April. Laat month my firm paid $25,000. On top of that, there's a "premium " to be paid to ensure yours is unloaded in s timely manner. So then everyone pays the premium. So you're basically at the jukebox paying "Play Next" premiums with everyone else doing the same thing.

      Not losing money, he’s PAYING to get the product there. No profit made on the product sold. So if international shipping is $20 on the AMMO site and it actually costs $60 to get a bottle of spray wax there, he’s actually paying $40 out of the company’s pocket (his) to get the brand out there. That’s how I heard it.

Do a quick search on "EV charge curves"; you'll discover a whole new world that separates cars from each other. The eTron and the Mach E both are rated for 150kW peak charge rate, but they charge in a very, very different manner in the real world.

    • @galactictomato1434
      @galactictomato1434 Před 3 lety +1

      The 12v system also powers things like the headlights, power steering, abs, and other safety equipment via the dc to dc converter, or in the event of a high voltage battery issue, those same systems are powered via the 12v battery itself.
      So the 12v battery and electrical system provides an important function in EVs.

    About the EV situation:
    1- its gonna be like the change from horse to cars, its gonna take a while, but when there are chargers dotted about everywhere, the infrastructure wont be a big problem.
    2- swappable batteries already exist, Nio (chinese brand) has made 301 stations where u drive the car in and then it replaces the battery, its only in China, but they have been created.
    3- the charging port/hose not being standardized is something that needs to be a law, for what i know there no law that imposes a standard port/hose. Tesla has there own, but "normal" car makers also have a few that are different, this is because they either believe that there design is better or they want the customer to buy specific hoses so that then it can use other chargers.
    4- charge time is currently the biggest problem, because if a car could only go 250miles but could charge back to full in 15 minutes, then its not so bad.
    Much of this points are the same has the phone industry, phones in the early 2000´s didnt last a full day, they charged slowly, some used completely different charges/cables (barrel plug, micro-usb, lightning, usb-c) and some mesurements around these problems were swappable bateries. Phone industry in current time, most phones last the full day if not more, most phones charge either with usb-c or lightning, they can charge up to 80% in 10~15 minutes and swappable batteries no longer exist. This change took ~20years in something that fits in a pocket, it should be faster in EV´s since space isnt so much of a problem, the bigger problem is that phones in 2000´s were something that changed and was essential for the higher-ups (politician and so on), but EV cars are an excuse not a necessity.
