Roger is incredible to listen to. I could listen to him discuss business and other topics all day. He really needs to come on more or write some books.
Your Dad is becoming legend here Matt - you are so different but in some areas you are clearly your dad's son. Both of you created a very successful career and are a role model. What is wonderful that your old man can see and enjoy your success. I couldn't show it to my dad anymore who passed away too young. So I am very happy for you about it. Thank you so much for sharing it and bringing your Dad to the show. He is now a bit our dad too! :)
Wow! Your Dad is so concise with his words. He's well paced and his experience and approach are so well thought out. I look forward to him being on the show again! I just wanted to keep listening!
We need your father on more often. If anything you guys should have a separate podcast that comes out once a month (at least) and it could be like 2 hours long. Your father is a great speaker and could capture new listeners. Very interesting to learn from a person who has been very successful and isn’t one that brags about themselves just gives an insight on his own perspective.
39 years in organizations has made it clear to me - leaders like Roger Farah are few and far between, but very inspirational and really fun to work for when you are given the opportunity. 👍
Fantastic episode. I was so pumped to see him coming back on the show - really great insights, thoughtful, tons of experience. This is like episode 2 of the Roger Farah masterclass in leadership & business.
Oh crap it's over already? Seriously, an hour disappeared listening to Roger's calm and prudent business advice and tales. I so appreciate him coming on your show, and the conversations you have!
Mr. Farrah should start his own podcast or a CZcams channel about past business experiences, short stories, or lessons learned… I’d listen to it every single morning. What a gentleman
I worked for nearly 20 years in r&d and global technology development (project management at Apple). In that time I acquired a ton of experience in logistics, supply chain management, global ops etc - and found that I could apply those skills to nearly any industry. So I made the decision to leave and pursue a career in an industry I love: wine. Never been happier and I’ve been catapulted into roles I would have never expected to be in. Lesson learned, as Roger commented on: become an expert in something over time, and then find an industry you love that you can pivot to and apply those skills.
I love my father, but id certainly take Roger as an uncle. What a interesting, well spoken, & well traveled man. I'd watch these two on their own financial and business podcast ASAP if they decided to go that direction. Also- very interesting to hear about the office spaces. God that'd be such an overbuilt office building.
What a well spoken and interesting Individual. Discussing these topics can often be dry and boring but wow Roger has such a smooth and calm vibe mixed with such an intelligent presence that it is so far from boring. I would listen to his podcast if he had one!
Excellent podcast, thank you Mr. Farah, Matt & Zach. As someone who is currently 10yrs into my career and looking to make potential moves external to my industry, this was a breath of fresh air. Lastly, props to Matt for applying his business acumen of his personal experiences to broader careers & fields (answering questions) You've clearly been a good steward of father Farah's guidance & financial investment into the TST/WSCCS brand!
Both times Roger has been on I’ve taken away something that I can use. This is the type of advice that people can rarely find on their own. Thanks to Roger for sharing his knowledge and experience.
Roger is brilliant to listen to. He has such a calm and no-BS manner about him, while being charming and attentive. It would be great if this could be a regular thing, say quarterly catch-up?
I was hoping there was going to be a bit more casual conversation about their time at that fancy car show, but he is definitely an extremely intelligent man worth taking advice from
Mr. Farah's insight was fascinating. It sounds like he has mentored others throughout his career (commendable), but I hope he finds it in himself to pass on his vast knowledge and experience through teaching. I suspect that he will find the experience very rewarding.
28k views and less then 1k likes? Madness! This was awesome and really great information for anyone! Matt keep learning from him, there is still so much you can glean from him to get to the next level, which does not have to mean financially... Thanks for bringing him on.
What a fascinating episode, really sorry now that I pushed off listening to it! I'm a pretty new manager at my company and as an accountant, dealing with people and a variety of personalities is by no means a strength of mine. Roger was incredibly insightful and I'll definitely be coming back to this episode when I need a refresher.
Thank you again, one of the best shows, as the latest with your father was! Also I love how both you guys get to touch on different aspects of your professional and personal experience outside of the usual "car stuff" (which of course I love, btw). Cheers!
I've known people who went to Harvard as 40-year-olds and don't STFU about it. Love that Roger really doesn't attach his self-esteem and confidence to a 'prestigious' name.
My question about depreciating assets when in debt was more to see if Matt would disagree with his dad because of passion. I own my wife and my car outright and my fun car is an NA Miata (aka cheap toy)
Wait. Didn't Mr. Farah say on the last podcast his dad was in the rope business? And you married into the chain business? Seems like a good bind. Please don't block me.
As a fellow flip phone status holder, I just don't understand why anyone would have it any other way🤷🏻♂️. Whatever happened to having anonymous, moderately social accounts 😂😈
Roger is incredible to listen to. I could listen to him discuss business and other topics all day. He really needs to come on more or write some books.
Honestly, he has such a wise and calming presence. His thirst for knowledge, and quantity of it, are truly impressive.
@@Poorschedriver TOTALLY Roger is awesome.
How does one get this 30 page manual that Matt put together?
@@Faraz9564 production Manuals are internal only and are suited for future franchise buyers/holders.
They are not meant to be public at all
I think he could host his own classes / podcasts on various business topics. Hell I'd pay for it

Need to have zach's dad on next lo!
Or brother, sister, Mum, girlfriend. Zackman’s the best!!
Zack's dad is a very accomplished surgeon up north, would probably be interesting!
Zach's gf and Matt's wife should host an episode while Matt/Zach are gone.
@@tealruby1 That would be funny, but they have to try an carry a non car topic like Matt and Zach.
Wow! Your Dad is so concise with his words. He's well paced and his experience and approach are so well thought out. I look forward to him being on the show again! I just wanted to keep listening!
Really appreciate Roger's insights and viewpoints, and hope that he comes back at some point in the future. A really great show!
Roger: a calm soul in a loud world.

Roger.. 😃 I'm in Texas and I'm so happy to see you! Your son is wonderful. Good job 👍
I feel like Roger would an awesome business management professor at a college/university
This man has a wealth of knowledge, It's palpable. Fantastic, really.
Very educational. My favorite guest so far.
Another great episode! Roger is so insightful and just his manner of speaking is so smooth and calculated, could listen to him all day.

He’s a wealth of information. I’d like to see him back on a regular basis.

One of best episodes
Roger's comments on skills development/education outside of a current employer speaks to me. Something to seriously investigate now.
What a well spoken and interesting Individual. Discussing these topics can often be dry and boring but wow Roger has such a smooth and calm vibe mixed with such an intelligent presence that it is so far from boring.
I would listen to his podcast if he had one!
How refreshing to hear honest answers to personal questions.
I could listen to this all day. So much knowledge being shared that is immediately applicable to me at this period of my life! Thank you Roger!

The return of Roger! So stoked to see what advice he has this time, the man is a sage 🙏
It is an honor and a privilege to be able to listen to such a well distinguished wise man.
Nothing but praises on that episode. So good I will be listening again and writing down some notes. Hope you have him on again.
The information here, just a few mins in, makes this one of if not the most important interviews I have ever watched.

NICE. Didn't expect Roger back!
Roger is so so great! Such a great pleasure to listen this wise man.🙏🏻
Always awesome when Roger is on the show, thanks for sharing your father and all his business wisdom with the world
Roger's last appearance looks to the highest view pod since it aired. As it should be.
Thanks for doing this again, Roger! It’s great to hear from such an experienced and well spoken individual
I always enjoy when Roger is on the podcast. It’s refreshing to hear some of his insights and the knowledge he has gained over the years.

Great show, I wasnt able to save it for later
Mr Farrah makes me feel like I’m gonna figure out what I wanna do for work someday
so good!!
Id like to see Roger on a Jocko. I can tell he used some extreme ownership principles in his corporate career for sure.
Holy shit. I was literally thinking today that “I should tweet Matt to ask his dad to come on the show again today.”
Great one
