I also have an older version of the takedown kit, and it's had these issues with the 10 rnders, even the 30s a lil sticky I will go ahead and get this done this evening, appreciate it!
Hey, this was very helpful. Thank you. I’m very disappointed with my factory, Ruger guns as I’ve had multiple issues including this one with them. I’ve had Ruger’s ever since I was a kid, but I think they’ve let their quality slip.
I just finished one up Friday and Saturday. :) my buddy used the .22 in this video and I used my .22 bolt action FX air gun to make it more of a challenge.
I was able to successfully file down my wooden stock using your method and now the mags drop out with no problem! Thank you!

I found the bolt on the magazine was hanging on the plastic in the front. Annoying though
