  • Welcome to Coach Driving With James Ep.16 - POV Gatwick Airport - Cobham Services. and onwards to the M3)
    The Cobham section is the POV part, after here it's just a window view in sections to the M3, I cut most of it out due to the fact I had no wireless microphone with me so I've noticed the audio is terrible, sorry about that!
    After Gatwick it's all Motorway running but I hope you liked this as something different for now, I'll be keeping up with the diaries as that seems to be popular, hopefully can cover Intercruises work soon

    Great videos. I’ve been offered a job with a local coach company to train up for my category D license. I’m 56 and I’ve been working as a domestic gas engineer for the last 30 or so years. I’m thoroughly fed up with gas heating work and I’m completely unconvinced about heat pumps. Also my knees have had enough. I was thinking at 56 I’m on the scrap heap so I’m excited to be offered a new venture in my 50’s.

    A very professional and informative drive. My old boss (who I think until a year or so ago took your driver cpc courses) would be quite impressed I;m sure. Cetrainly a trainer in the making. Enjoyable drive James.

      @@james143611 The chap I was thinking of was Alec Horner, I may be mistaken, he used to provide CPC training and also H&S assessments, He often used ot mention Chandlers when we met up.

      @@james143611 Ahh, no.. person I am thinking of was a chap named Alec Horner, it would have been a few years back, I may be mistaken but was sure the last time we met for lunch at Whiterow Farm he said he had need at Chandlers. He also used to carry out H&S audits so possibly that was what he had been doing that day.

    My local area, however I only dropped off at Gatwick for the first time the other day! Used to enjoy the Tourismos, much prefer my GT12 now though. Shame you couldn't film going into Gatwick, as we discussed before heathrow could use videos for each terminal!

      Yutong seems to have improved over the years from what I've heard, yes could have actually had front cam for last bit but didn't think of that 😂

    Can you clarify what speed limits apply to you, I thought coaches were allowed 70 mph on motorways although I notice that vehicles in excess of 12m are restricted to 60.

    • @kevinanderson5658
      @kevinanderson5658 Před 3 měsíci +2

      50mph on single/duel carriageway with national speed limit
      Motorways 60mph

    • @james143611
      @james143611  Před 3 měsíci +2

      50mph on single carriage way and 60 on motorways / dual carriageways, limiter is set at 62 (100kph) and you'd get and infringement for going over 62, though you get a couple of seconds correction to slow down if it trips over 62 downhill.
      It's slightly out anyway if I set cruise at 62 it's actually doing 60

      @@james143611You get 30 seconds to correct your speed before a warning “overspeed30” flashes up on the tacho head unit and dash.
