4. 90% of anime produced after 2010 can’t hold a candle to this show
Dk about the "no anime after 2010 holds a candle to G.I.T.S SAC", there are many good series like Hunter x Hunter, Parasyte, Mawaru Penguindrum, etc. Even tho I like GITS SAC and 1995 are my favourite but still there are great series out there

This episode not only introduced me to origami but tought me how to actually fold it.
GitS is such a great show (regarding the whole GitS universe).

I get the impression that in "2nd GiG", we learn more of Maj. Kusanagi's inner conflicts than might be "okay", and get chances to wonder if Batou harbors jealousy toward Hideo Kuze.

it used to be not available because here in the U.S. I remember not even being able to see an AMV using this song and now I can see at least two of them. so somewhere wether it be youtube or the people over in Japan or Yoko Kanno or whoever said let's let up on this

Never bothered to look this song up but it stuck in my head this time round. Watched it many times but the Kuze Major connection kept getting , well I understood it more and moe. Italian song in a Japanese show? interesting. I like Inner Universe but this is emotionally good and thats why I won't watch any sort of dub. Something like emotion is lost in translation.. 99 % of the time...

Does anyone understand the significance of Kuze eating his apple, but Motoko not??? And why they were eating apples???? I know it has meaning, but it's lost on me.
Religious. While in the pit trapped they are talking Buddhist enlightenment I believe. When they are saved by Batou the pillar he is using as a crowbar is shaped like a Cross. So Christian and Buddhist belief systems. (Or maybe Tao? It’s been a while since I watched the scene. GitS SAC is thick with references and allegories and deep thoughts.)
There's a lot to unpack in this show. From what I remember. The cross acts as a savior for Motoko. The apple signifies an apple of knowledge/ transcendence however the act of consuming the apple is also a transgression against humanity. So when Kuze consumes it he becomes transcendent losing his humanity ,fulfilling his goal. Being the first full cyborgs ( forgot what they call it in gits) Motoko and Kuze represent Adam and Eve. If it weren't for likes of Batou and others surrounding her it would stand to reason Motoko would have followed in the steps of Kuze. I believe to this day the major never loved anyone as deeply and purely as she did Kuze. Regarding how much of the show's subject material and ost revolve around the idea of being human and the existentialism that surrounds such a topic as a result of being in a tranhumanist, anarcho capitalist, society that is still coming to terms of being entrenched in modernity or its after effects (not to be confused with postmodernism though the show makes and excellent critique against postmodernism). I believe this scene was another nudge pointing at how the major was indeed human and rejected being otherwise!

ARISE is a separate storyline that has nothing to do with SAC except for both being Ghost in the Shell.
