Acqua Di Giò Essenza is a sophisticated aquatic fragrance with a lot of silage and longevity, unfortunately the citrussy character of it means that it cannot survive so much time after the production date.
Mine is still ok, and smells good after the top notes settle down .. I believe that even without the extra air inserted in with the sprayer, the top notes are a bit off, but luckily the middle and base still make this scent a great perfume.

Razvan, I love your review of Acqua di Gio Essenza. I love the fragrance & I wish that it was still being produced. You are 100% on target when it comes to storing fragrances and fragrances do not last forever even if they are stored properly & never sprayed. I own a lot of citrus fragrances and the top notes do lose their freshness over time. You went into a lot of detail explaining this and I hope people learn from this video. There needs to be more fragrance reviewers like you who add value to their content. You are setting yourself apart from most of the other fragrance content creators and I hope that your content gets more views & your subscribers increase. I can honestly say that you are one of the best fragrance reviewers.

*I don't agree at all. Acqua Di Gio Essenza is my signature scent and also my favourite fragrance. I collect a lot of "vintage" fragrances as I am a vintage fragrance Vendor. This myth of scents going bad after 2 years is completely false. I own a couple of bottles of Vintage Cosmair Ralph Lauren Polo Sport EDT, one from 1996 and one from 2OOO. Both of them are still in perfect condition. Fragrances are not like fresh fruit and vegetables guys, with my vintage Cosmair Polo Sport you are dealing with 8O % ALC and up to 2O% fragrance oils and other preservatives. My Polo Sport bottles are 24 and 28 years old respectively and still smell great and have actually macerated like a fine wine over these years. It's actually been proven if stored in ideal conditions out of heat and sunlight and in a dark cool conditions they will keep just fine or improve. A lot of the big Fragrance brands say use in the first 24 months, then after that they are no longer any good. Completely false. These companies say this for one very big reason !!... And that's money. They want people to believe a fragrance goes bad after 24 months so you keep buying more and more new bottles. It's purely a marketing strategy and so many people fall for this complete lie. Vintage fragrances before the IFRA bans were 3 ingredients and so many vintage EDT fragrances perform a lot better than these modern EDP fragrances. With my Vintage collections my bottles last so much longer because you only need a couple of sprays and they last ALL day and if sprayed on my jacket I can still smell it on jacket a week later. As you can tell I'm not a big fan of modern fragrances, the majority of new fragrance you have to over spray and they just don't have any longevity or projection. One of the big reasons in this happening was the death and ban of Oakmoss. I could go on and on about this, but I'm just saying Stop believing this Myth and absolute LIE that after 24 months you need to buy a new bottle. Don't fall for the outright lies. Try it for yourself, most important thing is to just store your fragrance correctly in a cool,dry, dark place and you will be amazed.*

Not necessarily ADG Essenza itself, but when you're looking for an old/discontinued fragrance, and you find one unopened and stored well ... perfect. What a find, grats!

Whenever i smell bergamot and basil in a perfume i go crazy ... My father only wears ADGs and Essenza was his favorite, he was 40 something back then but he had a very refined taste ... For some reason on his skin it smelled citrusy with basil and spices ... Ahhhh NOSTALGIC my friend i was happy when i saw a fresh Essenza getting opened for the first time, he still have the same bottle empty in his room with his other ADGs ... I remember him getting very confused when he didn't find the fragrance anymore in the stores, but profumo was good enough to make him forget about essenza i guess.

*I have a Cosmair bottle of Original Acqua Di Gio Pour Homme from 2OO3 in pristine condition before L'Oreal products LLC took over and Essenza is so much like the original,but it's a more refined, with greater longevity, projection/sillage than my original Cosmair bottle of Acqua Di Gio. Essenza is my signature scent and I use it daily, but I don't use my Cosmair Acqua Di Gio Pour Homme that much because it's rare as hens teeth and I doubt I will never find another bottle of it and I refuse to buy the modern reformulated version of Acqua Di Gio Pour Homme because it is so weak compared to my Cosmair Acqua Di Gio Pour Homme.💯*

Benjamin my friend, thank you for the feedback 😃 I guess Armani does not like money, because Profumo seems to be their biggest name. But who knows, maybe it's not like that.
Essenza for me has been the greatest ADG release period. However, my most cherished bottle is a bottle of ADG Blue Edition I acquired from a guy that kept it since 2014! Which was a limited release that year. It is a gorgeous aquatic and I like it better than the original and profondo. It has a beautiful Persimmon note and it is an extremely rare fragrance to get.
Blue edition what does that even look like i couldn't find anything on it

I have a 75 ml 10 left just test it again whit prefumo magnetic cap and it smells amazing and never lost his magic from top to drawdown

I use my Cosmair Acqua Di Gio Pour Homme every now and then, but it's rare as hens teeth and I doubt I will ever find another bottle of it so only a little spray occasionally.*

I’m always wondering if these fragrances are poured in bottles in a vacuum environment if not then even if they are not sprayed and still brand new but they have been exposed to oxygen already at the factory at the time of being filled in the bottle, am I missing something here?

The Holy Grail was the Original Acqua Di Gio, before 2009-2010 - that was the best parfum on the world!
Essenza was good too - but Essenza had an "older men" smell too. :/
Profumo not bad but absolut not Essenza - and not the vintage ADG. :/
I dont know Armani why destroyed the vintage original ADG.
The parfum industry dead now - the people buying the bad smell, weak and useless parfums. :/
Vintage original ADG is 10/10 - Essenza 10/6 - Profumo 10/6.

My 21 year old Cosmair bottle of Acqua Di Gio Pour Homme is still as great as the day I purchased it 21 years ago. Don't believe their lies.💯*
