- Join me on a trip into Victoria BC to a small local bakery for my sour dough bread fix, and walk through the woods with my dog Skye, on Vancouver Island
This weekend's video has me driving all the way into Victoria for bread, and a gorgeous early morning dog-walk with Skye through Old Growth forest, here on Vancouver Island.

I’m lying in bed at 3:30 in the morning watching this video. Couldn’t sleep but the relaxing video and music is making me sleepy. But I have a hunger pain now. Those bakery delicacies might keep me awake the rest of the night 😊

I’m mid-island and spend my time similarly - a good bakery stop and a lovely walk on the nearby trails with my dog. I’m happy to see your pooch with its bear bell on. I recently had a close encounter. Luckily, it was more scared of us.

I just found your channel and plan to bing watch. It has been in my mind that I need to learn daily life in the event I am left single. My mom was unexpectedly made a widow, and she was totally unprepared. I want to be able to care for my self so no one feels the need to take control of my life “for my own good “. Thanks for helping me look to the future and prepare.😊👏👏👏

Yes on Sundays my two dogs get their walk in the house!!
My one year 7month grandson and his 2 and a half year old cousin call each dog by their names and those dogs run several times to the little ones when called. Of course parents are watching we have to be proactive. But everyone loves the 2 girls and they are so gentle that I think the kids are rougher!!! I think they don't need a walk after so much fun.

I'm from the Seattle area and your makes me miss walking my dog on those cool, overcast days. I retired to Florida a few years ago and now I have to worry about the pavement burning her paws! Love your channel, keep up the good work!
I have a bell on my Beagle as we walk twice daily too, more to warn the bunnies she is on a sniffing expedition. Skye has a good life indeed. 🐶🐶

A woman after my own heart....willing to drive to a good bakery. ❤ I live 90 minutes from Notte's Bon Ton Pastry shop in Vancouver. It's been closed and is supposed to open this spring. I am not so patiently waiting.

Isn't it good when someone makes you realise how lucky you are? That's what you did showing the croissant and pain au chocolat from the bakery which i can walk past and collect on my five minute walk to work here in the south of France. Mind you rustic breads are further afield.

Your accent is good, I like to hear the pastries names pronounced correctly. A good bakery is nice to have. I usually buy a few things and freeze them. Real bread is so good too, I eat a slice a day so I keep it in my freezer too. Dogs are the best. Your videos are very good.

Just loved the walk through the forest with your dog (name?)!! I love nature, and it would be wonderful if I had such a wonderful walkway to not only get some exercise, but a lovely place to think, be alone, snoop nature out, etc.!!

I like Fry’s as well. I’m told they have pizza there on Sunday afternoons as well as their delicious sourdough. If you’re ever right downtown, you should try Crust Bakery on Fort St. Or Bond Bond’s, of course, which is still great after all these years!

I have been to Canada two times. Loved it but when in the wilds was always worried about bears and wolves ? have you ever come across them ? Timid U.K lady. we dont have them any more.

Hi from Australia. I’ve just discovered your channel and you have just given me so much inspiration to start my own channel. I’m about the same age and my job was made redundant 5 years ago after working for 30 years. I was totally devastated. My hubby soon after was diagnosed with a rare lymphoma and then liver cancer which he is doing well considering a Dr gave him a couple of months to live when he was diagnosed. I am on a disability pension and have a side hustle of making and selling mostly silk scarves on EBay and Etsy. I watch a lot of CZcams and have often considered creating a channel. One of my main reasons for not starting is having the courage to let go of my fear of being judged and dealing with trolls. Hey I’ve just thought of a video title I can explore! I guess once you dip your toes in the water it gets easier. I have a lot in common with you I think from just watching a couple of videos. Yes I used to drive an hour to a French Patisserie once a fortnight to buy almond croissants, chicken and leek pies, custard and cherry danishes and whole grain sourdough bread. Bliss! Not of course to be eaten all at once!!! I also love a good coffee and books.

WOW... WHAT A BAKERY! I've never seen anything like that...yum! 🙂 You have a very nice life, it seems, without a partner. Do you have a camera operator? You do some interesting long shots of yourself.

A good bakery is well worth a 2 hour drive. I’d drive 5 hours for a great croissant. It’s incredibly difficult to find quality croissants in the states. 😢

I go early in the morning....sometimes I meet up with someone, but usually we have the trails to ourselves....peaceful!

The bakery looked really good, and the morning walk looked great too! If the servers didn't want to be on camera why didn't you blur out the server's face? Other than that the food looked delicious. I like your videos, I've shared with my friends and family.

I can do the blur, but if someone asks me not to film them, I'm respectful of that, rather than argue with them and assure them I'll blur them. It's not a big deal. I'm not out on my pristine little morning to cause conflict. :)
The server's face is in your video and you didn't blur her out. Please don't take it badly. It's just an observation

Oh gosh, I’m going to be a negative nelly and suggest you edit the video to get the one employee’s face out of there. There could be a very legitimate reason they don’t want to be on camera. Like they’re trying to hide from an explosive ex on the other side of the country they had to flee from. It’s one thing to get video of the pastries, but another to get people’s faces in a shot. You might be putting that employee in danger.
The employee who didn't want to be shown, is, in fact, not shown. The employee you see had no objections.... :)
@@silverandsolo great! I’m super cautious about that as I have a friend that had to flee an abusive partner and we kept her location secret for her protection.
