Ford 2N Weak Hydraulic Pump Rebuild

When I first bought the tractor, I noticed even trying to lift lighter things on the boom pole, that the tractor wouldn't be able to lift. In this video, I take the pump apart, end up rebuilding it, and get the hydraulics a fair bit more powerful. Granted, this is still an 80 year old machine, and is nothing compared to what you can do with a newer, bigger tractor. But, I like this old thing. It was cheap, and I have a problem buying cheap things. I will be using this tractor quite a bit, so I am trying to take care of the issues it has now, prior to towing it up to Maine.

Them two arms that got the valve at the bottom, you can get at them through the big drain plug hole.

Please steam clean or pressure wash that poor old tractor and shoot at least a coat of gray primer on it.😢I have two 8Ns that need the pumps cleaned and serviced and I am not looking forward to it. I drained and flushed one tractor, and then filled with new fluid and now the hydraulics are real slow so I probably got some sludge mixed up in the pump.
