The teak stools ended up being PERFECT for the space! Adds a different shape to everything else
We think so too! thanks for watching ❤
Totally agree! Could be even more functional if placed near the door along the wall corner ( couple shower ) and it will get less water on it .
Anyone else waiting for Rochelle to start a major home reno and the other sorry girls coming through with their skills for her??? She’s amazing 😭❤️
Yes!
Rochelle outdid herself and I really enjoyed how genuinely happy and thankful Becky was for it.
And the bathroom as a whole came out great. I love it.
She certainly did! 😊 thank you for watching!
Trimming the entrance to the bathroom with the same tongue and groove as the ceiling was such a good idea! It looks fabulous, along with the whole space!
That bathroom came together *so* beautifully. All the many lessons throughout are so true.
Do the hardwork.
Pick yourself back up, when bad news comes your way.
Reuse and refurbish.
Add personal touches.
Get advice.
Learn.
Celebrate.
100% 😊 thank you for tuning in!
"You could fit a third person in here" .... Austin, I like your style! 🤣🤣
Goes with the whole 70s theme ...
@@janelteok this is funny
Lol me thinking yea a toddler if they have a kid
The way I gasped when I realized you added the tile without waterproofing the shower. I assume I missed something!!!
Was also wondering
same, i was expecting a green or blue water proof coating to go first
The result is SO beautiful! Amazing work on all fronts. And I just want to shoutout the video team too, when I think about the months of footage since starting and you turning the final video around in under two weeks from project completion, that’s a major win in and of itself! So clear everyone is working really hard. Love TSG!
we love a team shoutout!! Thank you for the support 😍
Appreciate Rochelle's quiet demeanor. Her introspective manner is extremely refreshing. Love Austin's personality; competent, hard worker. Good design choices, Becky. Reno is hard work, on many levels. Success! Congratulations 💖✝
i am so serious when i say that anytime i was stressed or down i just remembered that this video was coming and i immediately felt happier
Aww! love that we could make your day a bit brighter. thank you so much for your support 😊
Teak sailboat owner here ! To restore teak :
1. Sand the teak
2. Bleach the teak (a bit of bar keepers friend in water, then scrub the wood, let sit for 15 min and rince very very well. It makes all the wood color even again.)
3. Apply teak oil (you have to reapply at least once a year) or teak sealer (reapply ever 2-3 years) 😊
You know you can also put your clothes over the towel warmer, so that when you're done showering you have warm clothes to put on.. I do this al the time, it's really great🥰
It turned out sooo good! fun fact: the heated towel rack is used as an actual heater in some countries in Europe!
meanwhile I have an electrical heater that kinda looks like a towel rack, but can't be used as a towel rack :-( (because it's way too close to the wall to hang towels on)
I live in England. I have a dual fuel towel rail in my bathroom. It comes on with the gas fired central heating in winter. In summer it’s electric only and comes on at pre-set times as it has a timer. English summers aren’t always warm and the towels are always dry. I have an electric only one with a timer in my downstairs toilet.
I grew up having heated towel racks where we actually used them. I loved having a warm room and warm towels and clothes after a shower. In my first apartment I had no heating at all which I think set me up for the following. In my second apartment it was the only heating source in the bathroom and linked to central heating. It took way too long to heat the (big) bathroom so we would have had to had it running at all times which we decided was too expensive so we never turned it on. In our current apartment it's a plug in one in addition to our floor heating. We don't use it here either. It's nice to have but in my opinion not worth it. I rather shower hot and use the cold room as an opposite to get my body working like others walk in the snow after a sauna haha
yes but its an actual heater with water running through it ( I have one, its part of the central heating system)
It looks like a boutique hotel bathroom. I’m always amazed at how important it is to see a project through to the end to see the whole vision come together. I mean, I know it’s been planned out and the concept is solid, but there is always that awkward “not quite done yet” phase where everything looks a bit 🤔 and then all of a sudden it all comes together and looks so good!! That lighted mirror seemed to instantly add that sparkle and hit of glam. I love all the wood and the way that floor added personality and character and kept the room from looking too modern for the overall aesthetic of the house. Job well done! You both must be SOOOO happy it’s finally done!!
Austin’s idea to frame out the entry with cedar is just 🧑🍳💋
So many understated but fine elements came together beautifully, Becky-trust your gut with the wilder choices, this is gorgeous 😍
I love Rochelle her "sigh-of-relieve"-giggle. She did an awesome job on the cabinets and the whole bathroom is beautiful!
Well I must say, you and your husband really put some sweat equity into a very professional beautifully well crafted bathroom makeover. Every tome I tune into the Sorry girls, I am always in total awe of your work and creativity. Kudos to you and all of your entire team!
24:26 Not sure you'll see this, but biggest game changer in both my showers was little stone rounded shelves in the corners. They're attached with silicone and they are sturdy as can be... I have photos but my tiler did them for 100$ a shower (2 shelves) and they have a tiny slope to keep water from collecting and they are 10/10. Hope you see this. Stools are great but the shelves are the best to keep things drying out. Ps I'm in Ottawa so definitely Canada approved
Pps theyre nice and slim and i didnt need to design around them. I put them in one shower like 6 years after... After struggling with sticky shelves and hanging storage for years
hii!! Thanks for the tip and for tuning in 😊
This is what I mean with my above comment about a triangle shelf haha
That's a great idea, too bad you can't share a photo!
Rochelle is an absolute gem :) I love her! The bathroom turned out so great, it's just a beautiful space now! Well done!
can i just say, rochelle is the best thing to ever happen to TSG!!! shes AMAZING in absolutely every way humanly possible!!!!
Not me loving the window treatment most 💀 lol the custom work to make it fit perfectly is just too satisfying. Such a nice bathroom though, the second sinkless vanity with the light up mirror is just *chefs kiss*
The Roman shade upcycled was genius - you could really do this in any fabric 😍 the space is amazing
This home has given Becky life! You seem like a new woman working on this house and I’m here for it. The smile is so wide. Loving it. 😊
Anything negative that I may have said about the people who told me the cost of renovating my bathroom, I take it all back. I grovel. I seek absolution. This has been so totally educational! Now I know that there is so so so so so so much to doing this. Thank you.
If you're worried about drilling into the tiles in the shower, you can look into vertical tension rod shelves!!
I used one of those and had rust stains on the floor tile after just a few days. I had to scrub them multiple times and was so glad I got rid of them as it was a newly renovated rental... Luckily the landlord finally agreed to purchase a sticky shelf which we had no issue with for 2-3 years until we moved. I'm sure there are better vertical rods than mine but be aware of your purchase is what I'm trying to say.
19:33 y’all!!😍😍🥰🥰 That videos like this are giving faces to the amazing artists/craftsmen that put their creativity & talents to loving homes back to restoration/love is absolutely WONDERFUL!! I wish there had been folks going around recording information about all the folks that put so much love into building homes for people with their skill/gifts in craftsmen homes with all the built in…. Seriously there have been so many talented carpenters that their work still is people’s homes and no one knows anything about them…. I love that we are getting better about recording and preserving these things now 😬🥰🥰🥰 absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing
Was thinking the same thing! How wonderful that, if they were to move out, the whole renovation process is documented right here for the future homeowners to see ❤️
@@shelbyw22 I would absolutely LOVE a tv show based on these amazingly talented artist/carpenter/carvers of the past that left behind such beautiful parts of them that most home buyers would be clueless about unless historically recorded
Love this makeover !
A diy idea for the storage in the shower : a wood shelf hanging on the glass panel, did that in my own shower and it's really nice as its fully customizable for your own needs, it doesn't eat up floor space and is out of the waters way !
Heated towel racks are really common in the UK because we don't really have dryers. Absolutely love them! Bathroom looks amazing
So gorgeous! From the tile floors to the ceiling to that VANITY that Rochelle made, it's all pulled together beautifully! If this were my bathroom, I wouldn't be able to resist adding many, many, MANY green leafy plants to the space. I don't know what the light situation is like, but it's so spa-like and so 70s that I think plants would be very welcome there.
*Modern, Earthy, Organic* . A beautiful space to start or end the day in. The cedar was a super smart choice for the ceiling and I love the way Austin incorporated it into the door transition. Kudos to Rochelle on the vanities. Do monitor the feet on the teak stool in the shower for mold/mildew and squeegee those glass doors and tile EVERY time if hard water is an issue. Enjoy!
So excited for this! I so admire you all for your courage to create and expose your vulnerable selves on the Internet 💞 Beautiful, Becky.
Thanks for watching ❤
My favorite DIY girl and her family. Love ya Becky.
I'm IN LOVE with Becky, Austin and Danny's house!
It looks INCREDIBLE!!! An absolute luxury hotel style but with Becky’s flair and twist! The blue tiles really shine here and definitely elevate your designs!! Wonderful job you guys did! Rochelle’s drawers look amazing!!
personally I would have mounted the toilet paper holder pointing in the other direction - that way when you pull off some tickets the roll won't come with it...lovely job guys - your vision is really coming together...
Yay, the bathroom turned out great! So happy for you and Austin, to finally have such a nice and luxurious bathroom.
thank you so much 😊
Your heated towel rack is exactly how I am about my heated toilet seat. Our upstairs bath doesn't have a heater and that seat is probably one of my favorite things I've ever bought!
The electric towel rail/bar can get rather hot but can be turned down. Best to keep a towel on it at all times
I must say---Becky and Austin WOW!!! You over came soooooo much for this space! You didn't even show the garage roof and outside that you had to demo and restore. You're able to push on and get the job done!!!! Bravo! Its beautiful!!!!
I love how Becky and Austin can work together.
Great shout repurposing the stool; I like when teak gets that silver patina! You could always put it in the opposite corner (by the door) if it gets too much direct water contact under the showerhead.
Could be sanded also to get back to the original wood finish and then apply the oil.
Becky, it’s incredible! I loved watching the whole process and hearing your rationale behind decisions like the large tile in the shower and no shower shelf. I bought my home two years ago and through DIYing I am learning a lot about balancing nice finishes with practicality and maintenance. Slow thoughtful design is the best and I LOVE these makeovers! Finding unique secondhand finishes, reusing what you have, and investing in good quality materials, chef’s kiss! Excellent job!!! This bathroom is gorgeous!!!
I would put something on the teak stool to elevate the bottles or to allow them to breather. Even those little things they sell for soap, so that water doesn't stay trapped under the bottles. just a suggestion.
Like those diatomaceous earth trays/pads that dry quickly . I have some under my soap bottles. They are nice
Rochelle's outfit was so cute!!! The colorful shirt and pink overalls were just adorable
rochelle is literally god's gift to this world❤ she is just so sweet & pure & i truly believe that there isnt a mean or bad bone in her body.
there's a series idea: 101 useful viewer tips: Ideas we got from you. and then show clips from the places where you applied them. also can include other tips that you didn't use but that you vetted and found sound. It's true: the community comments are great.
Rochelle is so insanely talented!!
I love Austin's commentaries and answers, just gold. "How many pounds you think?" "A lot."
Becky your house is the best, I've being watching you guys for a long time, and you teached me a lot. I am so happy to see you all growing and being able to make big projects like this. Congratulations.
make sure to add a bidet to that toilet! Its the ultimate luxury!
I always look forward to Tuesdays because of TSG videos
Yay! Thanks for watching ❤
From a gal with a horrible mouldy rental bathroom that has 1 inch square shower tiles and white grout, I am extremely jealous and wholeheartedly support the big tile shower slime colour grout lines
Please give us an update on comfort and function once you’ve been using the bath for awhile. Heated floor AND heated towel rack is genius! Looks beautiful as well
OMG! I'm blown away. It is a beautiful bathroom. All did a fantastic job. Wow
Thank you so much!
It's giving 'That 70's Spa' - LOVE IT!!!
Very nice! Some orchids in the window sill would look great.
Did you waterproof your cement board?
The bathroom turned out great! It looks like a swanky hotel bathroom. It's understated yet still has a personality. Really nice job!
Great job. I think Rochelle did such a great job in getting the vanity and sink looking wonderful and professional. Such a generous person with her time and skill.
Beautiful bathroom! But how did you waterproof the shower? I thought the bottom of the shower had to be hot mopped or something. Other than that you guys did a wonderful job! Love the cedar ceiling and floating vanities. What I would give for all that extra counter space! Have a great week!😊
A fantastic makeover after a long challenging process! Enlarging the window was a great idea because it brings in so much more natural light. Rochelle’s project looks fantastic! I’m glad what must have been a heartbreaking start led to such a wonderful finish.
Atm watching you polish up the teak stools... thought of how there are probably showershelves you can hang on the glass showerwalls. Often matching to the metal of the showerwalls. Now I'll finish watching the video to probably see the stools look heavenly, perfectly styled in the bathroom. 🎉
Update: finished the video. Forget about what I said please. The stools fit this bathroom so well and make it feel extra spa-like! Best choice ever!!!🎉❤
I love watching team Becky and Austin builds together so much! And the finished bathroom is amazing
I love how you and Austin work together.
When Austin was installing the lights I was singing Kelsey’s song….”Austin turn off the breaker, you don’t wanna die” 💀
Austin and you did an outstanding job in the bathroom! Teak worked out exactly as needed. Heated towels to die for. Cedar ceiling looks spectacular , I even like the floor.
This reveal has been well-worth the wait because it’s by far my favorite TSG space to date!!! Becky and Rochelle have truly outdone themselves this time with their design choices and craftsmanship. Perfect combination of diy, upcycling, giving loved decor new life, and investing in worthy pieces like the shower!!! Job well done to the whole team!!!
GORGEOUS!! GORGEOUS!! When the camera panned from beginning to ... Tears! It's just an amazing reno! The newly restored teak stools - perfect!
Rochelle - girl! Beautiful cabinets and that marble (?) counter? WOW!
You have a great team, including Austin!! YAY!!
Have a blessed day and a fabulous week!!
Both Becky's and Kelsey's bathroom renos/makeovers really makes me want to have a spa like bathroom. They're both so gorgeous!
Love Love Love the way the bathroom came out. Thanks for taking us along for your bathroom makeover journey! I look forward to your next video!!!!
This is my favorite Becky makeover! Stunning!
Becky, you and Austin are such a DIY super couple! Rochelle, the vanity you made is spectacular! Becky, your personality in describing the process including the "final touches" is such a great vibe :) Love watching you! 😍
GORGEOUS bath! Great job everyone!
Finalllyyyyy🥹✨ you guys absolutely killed it!!!
Love that sink . Everything is fabulous.
Every element of the makeover is beautiful.
also, can we say... Rochelle!! amazing!
I am heeeeeere for this series
That is absolutely perfect!! You, Austin, (& Rochelle!) outdid yourselves!
Stunning 🔥🫶 it looks amazing! Becky and Austin are such a good team, and Rochelle’s vanity looks so amazing!
Rochelle did amazing work, as usual, and watching Becky's reaction was just so cool. LOVE the whole thing!
Im so excited for you and Austin! Congrats
Great job you guys!! So happy for you both!
Thank you so much ❤
WOW! Outstanding work. Love it.
Congratulations to a job well done! I love that you’re reusing the teak stools - if they are getting too wet there, you could try them in another corner of the shower where your stuff will still be easily accessible,
It’s stunning! What a journey
Soo pretty and calming! Great job!!
I love how you are turning this house into a home again. Beautiful job!!!
thank you for watching 😊
I was just thinking about this bath while taking a shower today!
So beautiful and serene! One of my favorite renovations! Well done!
This is truly a night and day difference, omg! It looks SO GOOD.
I am blessed to have my towel rack right above a heat vent - sooo nice in the winter! Becky you're going to LOVE the heated towel rack
Also, I do find the knocking trick to find studs works for me as long as it's normal drywall. That hack fails when it comes to plaster haha
Great job Rochelle, Austin and of course Becky! ❤❤
Beautiful! And the teak stools are perfect!!
omg!! i love how the bathroom turned out so beautiful
this might be my fav makeover you girls have ever done!
I have been waiting for this since watching Rochelle's build video. Love the new bathroom.
Everything about this bathroom is a DREAM! Love it!
You guys did such a great job! Love the results!
Becky it turned out SO incredibly beautifully!!!
No waterproof membrane on the shower gifrock?? Should still b ok hopefully ❤
