  • Hey friends! This week we are back in the van and we head about an hour south east of Perth to Dwellingup. We have a few things to fix around the van, but we also want to explore and adventure. We check out the local mountain biking trails, and we also visit an old WW2 Prisoner of War camp. I didn't even know we had POW Camps in Australia!
    The weather has definitely turned, and we have a couple of chilly nights. Might be time for Nigel to fix that diesel heater.
    Please consider subscribing to our channel - we bring you travel guides and vanlife tips weekly with a peek into our lives on the road.
    WHO ARE WE?

    Here's hoping after this video that Nigel gets some sponsorship from Bonds or Tradie trunks.... He certainly deserves it.
    As a fellow MTB rider it was good to see the trails there too. They look extensive and clearly cater for all skill levels.
    Thanks again. 😁👍

    Excellent vlog, I really enjoyed your commentary,particularly about the war POWs, & your outdoor bike riding, very cool to watch older people getting outdoors activities. Cheers from Downunder, ps, how much would you sell your van for after you’ve done touring Australia?. 😄❤️🦘🦘🦘🇦🇺

      Cheers Ollie. We wanted to go as lightweight as we possibly could. Basically we took just one change of riding clothes and hut clothes, the food we needed (we took only just enough!) and a bit of repair gear for the bikes. Fortunately we didn’t need any repairs. We hired sleeping bags at the huts. And then our camera gear, but we went lightweight here and just used 1 x GoPro, our iPhones and we took our drone (Mavic Mini) which we needed to get a permit for.
      Hope that helps

    Hi. Wow, I have only just discovered your videos which are very inspiring especially as you are having these adventures in a LWB 4x4 Sprinter. After years of 4x4 camping, we decided to fit out a VW Crafter for a bit more comfort but then VW came along in 2022 and offered the Crafter Kampervan. Just took delivery in Feb this year. Its the 4x4 All Terrain version with rear diff lock and Seikel lift kit etc. Given that it will have similar capabilities to your great van, I was very interested to see you successfully traversing the sandy tracks along the Ningaloo coast (we will be there later this year). I found that very encouraging as many tracks are labelled 4WD only but then I see many youtube videos of utes towing monster vans along these tracks and thought a 4x4 van should be okay. Any comments? Cheers. Geoff

    • @nigelandsueadventures
      @nigelandsueadventures  Před rokem +1

      Thanks Geoff! The Sandy tracks are usually fine, and we’ve driven along the beach quite a few times too. We are quite heavy at almost 4.5 tonnes (we carry bikes and a lot of sporting equipment in the van). The van doesn’t live corrugations though!!

      @@nigelandsueadventures Thanks so much. Our "Wolfie" weighs in at 3.7 tonnes so that is reassuring. My wife and I watched several of your videos last night covering areas we will be visiting this year. Apart from enjoying the quality productions it has given us confidence to take Wolfie further off the beaten track (with care). Picked up some ideas for nice walks too :). Cheers. Geoff
