Dayna is a powerful artist, a kaliedescope of musical genius with intuitive influences of T. Monk, J. Coltrane, & Miles all wrapped up into one. A true lyrical magician whom we are blessed to listen to & witness!

At the Stanford Jazz Workshop in 2007 in a published interview, part of the program notes, Peter Apfelbaum a guest artist was asked who was his favorite jazz musician under 30 and he replied: That's a tie between Ambrose Akinmusire and Dayna Stephens. Actually, Julian Lage was a headliner already in the same series. A Stanford grad student in film once featured Julian Lage in a film called "Jules at 8".
