I can get how people see the clean city as the "good" ending but i get why its bad. Angerfoot didn't do this to for some need to good in his city because he is not a hero. He is no better than the people he killed and doesn't care about that, he only cares about his shoes and girlfriend. Thats why him destroying his shoes represents betraying who he is and his love. Its not a good ending to be in a clean city because he has nothing and is a husk working at a job no one would want to spend their whole life at.
Well, the Bad Ending has you turn the city into an average city which may be nice but life is bland and slower, as well as Anger Foot giving up his hobby of shoe collecting for office work. Him keeping a photo of his shoes implying he misses them as the former gangsters judge him. There’s also the potentiality he and the girlfriend split up or have to work in different offices. In the Good Ending, he refuses to give up his love for shoes and uniqueness. After kicking the Crime Minister out, he enjoys an intimate night with the Girlfriend. While Shit City hasn’t gotten better, the gangsters enjoy it that way. Also makes for a potential sequel if Free Lives are interested.
Happiness isn’t getting what you want. it’s the catharsism you gain from suffering So By making a world without crime your making a world without happiness
The city might be nice and crimeless in the second ending, but you just end up as a office worker, a corporate puppet with no passion, no ambitions and are now stuck working forever at an office while everybody you knew who was accustomed to Shit City being a crimefest decides to ignore you out of hatred, since you're the cause of this drastic change At least in the first ending, you still have your shoes, your girlfriend and your freedom to be a criminal and have fun. And all that with a bit less gang members roaming the streets
His feet at the end gave me PTSD of having ingrown toenails and athlete’s feet. If that’s how his shoes protect his feet they don’t deserve to be saved honestly lol
No no, the bad ending is because IT makes you out to be the dick for RUINING the city and everyone who lives in it. You have become THE hypocrite in the bad ending!
There's something just really unnerving about the bad ending. It not only feels lifeless, but also seems like nothing has really been fixed, just under new rules. My personal theory is that the main reason Crime Minister wanted this was to ensure that there would be no potential rivals forming and keep himself in power. I believe the saying goes "nice does not equal good".
The story is that you play as a person named Anger foot who finally got the last of the premium sneakers, unfortunately the crime minister orders the big gangs of the city to steal and split those sneakers. Now it's your mission to defeat the big gang leaders in order to get back the sneakers
