- Biological indicators of skeletal maturity refer mainly to
somatic changes at puberty, thus emphasizing the known interactions between the development of craniofacial structures and
the modifications in other body regions. Individual skeletal maturity can be assessed by means of several biological indicators, CVM being an important one among them. It is routinely available on lateral cephalogram that is used routinely for orthodontic evaluation. Estimation of the shape of cervical vertebrae is quite straightforward and has a high rate of reproducibility. It is useful for the anticipation of pubertal peak in mandibular growth. This video explains the method for cervical maturation assessment for orthodontic evaluation and its clinical application.
One of the best and lucid explanations available for this hard to understand topic….great work mam😊😊😊

Spectacular knowldge.👌👌
Thank you
Nice work 😎 mam
Thanks for the interesting video. May you please tell why malocclusion classes (@9:35) begin from class II, and class I is not included?
That's a good question. Class II & Class III malocclusions may present with dental as well as skeletal discrepancies wherein you need to augment the maxilla or the mandible accordingly hence in these cases you can use CVM as an adjunctive technique to determine skeletal growth. Class I malocclusions are primarily dental discrepancies and in most of the cases the dental arches are in relative alignment with the skull.
@@DentalSymphonyES Thanks.
How can one examine the skeletal age from Cervical Vertebrae method?

Doctor clinical application of cvm.. Please give the reference articles 🙏🙏
maam
can you please provide me the reference for the literature.
I have compiled the information from a handful of sources, primarily from Graber's Orthodontics textbook.
@@DentalSymphonyES thank you, ma'am, it was a very nice presentation
