    I started using topical finasteride/topical finasteride in March 2022. I am 4 months in and all I can say is that this stuff has worked INCREDIBLE for me. My hair is back to wear it was at 25 years old! (I am now over 50)…..If someone told me I can have these types of results in four months for 150.00 dollars I would have said they were crazy! But the results are true….this stuff works!

    Since you posted this video 1 year ago, have you started prescribing SL Minoxidil? Can you direct me to any resources about SL Minixodil? I am a female and have been taking .625 mg. orally twice a day (the topical form made my hair sticky and smelly) but I do get a slight headache with this low dose. I have only been on it for about 3 weeks now with no effects except for shedding. I would like to read more about the SL form before talking to my dermatologist about this. Thanks in advance for your reply.

  • @BillyRogan

    It is interring to me that normal and “tested/safe” protocol is to use up to 100mg or more topically, some with higher %, in combination with trentinoin/micro needling (increased systemic absorption at over 100mg at 8% topical min in my case) - instead of only 1.25mg orally. 100 + mg or 1.25mg. Is this a fair and correct assessment? If so, I think low dose oral will continue to make more headway in common use. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thank you for the great video and information

    • @hairtransplantinindia
      @hairtransplantinindia  Před rokem +1

      I would advise switching to oral Minoxidil rather than increasing topical Minoxidil dose or combining with tretinoin. It is the best protocol for genetic baldness that is available today.

    Thank you very for much this informative video. I was using topical Minox for a very long time now and I am playing with the thought of switching to oral. Do you see any negative impacts on simply „drinking“ the topical version?
    In my country there is no way to get a prescription for the oral form. Since it is only Ethanol, Propylenglykol and water in the mixture I don’t see anything speaking against it. Taking 50microliters of a 50mg/ml solution correspond to 2.5mg of Minox. Do you think diluting this 50microliter in water and drinking it will workout, or will the Minox have problems in bypassing the Gastrointestinal tact? If this is the case sublingual consumption would be the way to go or am I missing something?

    • @hairtransplantinindia
      @hairtransplantinindia  Před rokem

      Please do not use any form of minoxidil except topical minoxidil (for local application only), without a doctor's prescription.
      Topical form is not fit for oral consumption. Also, please note that oral/sublingual minoxidil can have serious side effects eg fainting, if taken without the opinion of a doctor as it is an anti-hypertensive and decreases BP. Do not experiment with your health.

    • @incognitotorpedo42
      @incognitotorpedo42 Před rokem

      Nico, you aren't missing anything. The type of topical minoxidil that contains only ethanol and propylene glycol should be fine taken orally. I'd recommend diluting it to a lower concentration so that it's easier to dose with commonly available tools. If you have an accurate method of delivering microliter volumes (such as an Eppendorf pipet) then dilution isn't necessary. There will be no problem with bioavailability. It's just minoxidil, same as the tablet dosage form.

    Darling Buds hello
    I'm considering to start Oral Minoxidil ( never tried topical) because I believe oral is way superior in a way it works for the overall hair unlike the topical which obviously works where it's applied only. My question is about the safety profile of the medication for a long term use.
    Thanks 👍

    • @hairtransplantinindia
      @hairtransplantinindia  Před 2 lety +1

      Though Finasteride and topical Minoxidil have long term studies, oral Minoxidil does not. But if you are fit as far as your cardiovascular status is concerned and the physician has cleared to you start taking this medication and as long you are being monitored, I do not see any reason for concern since this is a low does and not one which used to be used for treated hypertension in the past.

You can consult a local good hair transplant physician for help. But you should not lose hope. There are many alternatives like scalp micropigmentation (SMP) and undetectable hair systems in the market today.

    1. Are all brands of oral minoxidil made from the same minoxidil? Or does each minoxidil brand have a different quality? 2. The use of topical minoxidil in men is as much as 5%, if converted to units of mg, how many mg is that? So that it can be equated with its use 2 times a day.
    3. What is the working half-life of taking minoxidil 2.5 mg? And if I'm currently taking 2.5 mg of minoxidil orally, does it need to be taken 2 times a day morning and night?
    4. For how long should I take 2.5 mg of

    I don't see why sublingual dosage is a good idea. Many people do not have the sulfotransferase in their scalp, so topical minoxidil doesn't work for them. However, everyone has the enzyme in their liver. If you avoid first past (liver) metabolism by sublingual dosage, aren't you just subverting the metabolic advantage of oral use? It might not matter, since the liver will probably see the drug on second pass. There doesn't seem to be a point to sublingual dosing. What am I missing here?
