  • Overall not a product I can say I'm in love with; apart from some glitches I've encountered during my first day using it .. it's been OK.
The firmware can do with a lot of polish though ..

Pretty good for the price. At least it's brick shaped not that 'huge heatsink hanging off the edge of a pcb' everyone else is doing.

Did this discharger ever get a firmware update or did you find the solution to the sketchy software? Any other dischargers you would recommend over this?

if you are testing a bunch of the same cells and you come across some bad ones. Do you actually need to discharge them all the way down or can you tell immediately from the difference in cell resistance?
    Thanks. Nice review.

the more work you put into diagnosing faults
      the better you'll see
li-ion cells have 50 ways of dying ...
you could probably have a fancy tester that finds more out quickly but .. with a spoon a hammer and some wood .. there's only so much magic one can do
I really needed to be sure .. because I really don't want to tear that whole thing down (1)
and (2), it may still be that over time they do have a higher internal resistance and are indeed faulty - but that usually IS correlated with a lower observed total capacity
I stand by my original assessment that something's up with the BMS, esp the overcharge bit .. already it chose one or two banks which it charges to LOWER than the rest

If you want to change the power rating while holding M, you need to change the position of that yellow jumper on the pcb first
