Scientific name -- None (artificial construct)
Size -- Over 7' tall
Diet -- Doesn't eat
The Atlanteans placed a high value on personal freedom. They never practiced slavery. They created the Automata to perform the tasks for which many other cultures used slaves. As the sophistication of these Automata grew, some in Atlantis wanted them to become citizens. Others opposed that notion. A civil war erupted and plunged the Atlantean Empire into a dark age that lasted thousands of years. During this time many Atlantean colonies regressed or revolted and became independent nations. Automata were never inducted into Atlantean society and Atlantis, though vastly more advanced than other nations, never again reached the heights of its Golden Age.
This cinematic was made using the "Age of Mythology™: The Titans Expansion Pack" video game, with the intent of creative expression. The final version of the New X Editor (available at AOM Heaven) was utilized. All units and sounds are original to the game; no mods were used.

@@earlkzb Even with the subtitles I still more or less got the gist of the story. The subtitles do add a layer to it but overall it is impressive that even without them you get the idea of whats being conveyed.

You have not just animated a game, you have created a world in which I would love to wander, in the same way I love to watch and rewatch the beginning of lord of the ring, when Gandalf comes back to the Shire, same way I loved to stroll in Azeroth at at the early stages of WoW. There is a beauty that I don't know the words to express.

Just wanted to say I love the way you play with sizes in your videos. It’s always super cool seeing you contrast people to giant monsters or buildings. It’s really helps create an almost lovecraftian feel to it and helps make the world feel more magical

Omg YES, if I recall correctly this are one of the weakest/least used units, yet lorewise one of the greatest; when I was a child I used to fantasize about making a campaign based on this Atlantean's "robot wars" in the editor.
The devs should've expanded on this Atlantean Empire civil wars and independent colonies, it has so much juice you could make thousands of campaigns about it

Today was a good day!
1.The Automatons were honestly my favorite Atlantean myth units. I dunno, i just found the idea of an army of endlessly repairing, completely relentless living statues badarse as hell
Couple that with their unique animations, their low cost, an upgrade that makes each one regenerate health and you have a myth unit that is actually really dangerous in large swarms.
2. As unlikely as it is, I would love for AOM Retold to include cool "What If" stories just like this as additional content . Hell maybe even as a continuation of the Titans DLC, as the ending does leave what happens to Atlantis and its people after Kronos's defeat rather open-ended.
