What causes the grabby-ness in a new Stihl chain? I have that issue sometimes after sharpening by hand with a file and wonder if my rakers are too flat on top vs. rounded nose? Keep up the strong work Kodee!!!!
Thank you sir. Flat rakers won't really make it grabby but it does make it a little rough cutting. Angle them smoothes it out a lot. The only thing that can make it too grabby is having the rakers too low and/or making the tooth angles to aggressive
@@kodeebarber Bingo! First time I’ve heard about the tooth angle being an issue! Is too aggressive having the top of the tooth (top cutting edge) more straight across versus swept back at an angle? Thank you! This is huge for me!
@@kcf955 the straighter the top angle the less aggressive it is. Generally matching it with the angle line that's on the chain is usually pretty good. Make it a little straighter if you're in hard wood
Oh man sometimes that happens. If I only go through 3 chains a day then it's a pretty good day lol and in normal conditions only 1 chain a day and it's still cutting good at the end of the day
id say on a 2 stroke id rather have it run rich... cause it will run for that like 10-15 years... if u run it lean it will sound crazy and make more power but u can also burn it out on a cold day.. (i have more experience on italian scooters then on chainsaws but like 2 stroke rules stay the same)...
Oh yes, a lean condition can melt it down in a few seconds. I've been overly cautious with this one because it's my first saw that's been ported to this extent so I've been afraid to burn it up hahaha
You are still smooth and steady, i like your still, safety first. The saw was running rich. Stay safe 🤙🤙
Thank you sir. No point in even going out in the woods if you aren't going to be safe

@@kodeebarber Perfect, THANK YOU! Stay safe and keep the videos coming....
@@kcf955 no worries. Anytime. Thank you
I would think you have to sharpen the chain after every tree you cut. The char is like sand paper. 🤔

Thanks man. My office job sucks.
Thanks for watching. Life's too short to be unhappy. Might need to look for a change of pace every now and then
@@kodeebarber amen brother !!
Cooling down yet?
Finally. Been in the 30s/40s every morning around here
Great videos.
Do you know when we will see the Ironhosre saw in action?
Thank you. No idea what you're talking about, I have no connection with iron horse, maybe you have me confused with someone else?
