- Harvey was nice enough to send me out the Ambassador C14 bandsaw to try out. I have only had it a few weeks but here are my thoughts so far!

Thank you for posting this review, I'm in the market for a new BS and I was unable to find many opinions or reviews.
Just bought my 17 inch Grizzly 2 HP with cast iron table and trunnions with the foot brake which is a great feature -- a major upgrade from my 10 inch Craftmans that I have had for about 15 years :)
That is definitely an upgrade!
a tip : watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
That's a beautiful band saw and Any other must tool to have in the shop 😊thank you Sir
I agree! So excited to add it to the shop arsenal.
What’s the difference between the Ambassador line and the Alpha line?
Thanks for the review. Just received my Ambassador C14 the other day. What 3 blades did you purchase to replace the stock blade?
what wheeled base did you get? Looks good and strong - do you still like it?
Looks like a great saw, Brandon. At my age and as a hobbyist, it's realistically too much for me. I hope it serves you well. I agree with the twist-lock plug. I did that with my compressor because the plug kept falling out from vibration. Take care.

Hey you're never to old to splurge on a cool new toy haha.
@@WalkersWoodworks Saving for a CNC and drum sander. My old drill press is still good.
A cnc is my next addition too.
Good review, the table height looks very low, do you find it ok ?
Hi, I just ordered the Ambassador C14 along with the Alpha table saw with router table insert. Should be here in the next 3 to 6 weeks. Ron USCG MKC RET
Right on!
What size blades did you order to replace the original with. I just ordered that same Bandsaw 3 days ago and would want to have the bands here when it comes. What was the roll base kit you used. Thanks
This is the pack I ordered. 👍 www.timberwolfblades.com/proddetail.php?prod=3BladePackCurveRippingResawing1416
I’ve been wanting to buy this saw for a while, but I have concerns. We’re you able to unbox it and stand it up by yourself, and were you able to place it on the mobil stand by yourself? If I remember correctly, it weighs 699 pounds in the crate, and 500 pounds alone.
It comes standing up bolted to the pallet. With that said... I do some pretty sketchy stuff my myself lol. I would not recommend it but it's possible. It was a challenge to get it in the rolling stand I got but I got it done with wedges and stupidity. 😂
@@WalkersWoodworks Thanks for letting me know.
@@kperellie it weighs about 420lbs actually ... you can easily "walk " it off the pallet after you unbolt it , and attach the leveling feet that come with it ( i didnt find them until after i had placed it on the ground - much easier if you locate the leveling feet before taking it off the pallet and just put them on one side first then the 3rd leg and then the 4th as you shift it off the pallet )
@@wildwoodworks8574 thanks for this
OK so after almost exactly 1yr what are your thoughts?? I want to pull the trigger but the $350 shipping is painful. I see that Grizzly's 17" model only cuts a 12" max height and this is 14". I am awaiting your thoughts before I commit.
I honestly haven't used it a ton. I had a Grizzly before this and I loved it as well.
Do you know what the maximum resawing capability is of this model? Also can it run on 110 volts?
It resaws up to 14" and unfortunately no. It's a 220 saw because of the 3hp motor.
@@WalkersWoodworks Thanks for the information!!
You have very informative videos. I appreciate your advice.
can you let me know which blade you use? I plan to buy this bandsaw. Thanks
5:12 he says what he has
What electrical does this need?
This looks almost exactly like the Laguna 14bx
Yep! But my Laguna has never drifted or wandered right out of the box 3 years ago but this still looks like a nice saw. Taller resaw fence on the Laguna.
@@ramaroodle there’s a good chance that Harvey makes Laguna saws. Harvey has been making machines for other companies for a long time.
This is true. I think the wandering was probably my fault honestly lol.
Just bought a Jet 14 inch. I looked at buying this Harvey but shipping was to high for me!
Ah dang! Well hopefully it works out. Jet makes good stuff too.
I was looking at that! $329 flat rate? That seems very high compared to any other company. Thinking Laguna or Grizzly. Maybe, Harvey will make a deal if I buy table saw, band saw, and maybe even something else....
I believe the price to my 🏡 was$295.00 shipping! I got the jet 14 inch with 13 inch resale free shipping! And 10% off sale!
Your bearing guides need to be close to the blade, but not so close that then are spinning
Just wrote the same thing, could explain the slight wondering as they are applying lateral fo rd ce when they shouldn't be unless the blade has deflected while cutting
So basically everything was great except for the stock blade which is a consumable not have con
what wanders?
Dude your roller bearing guides are cont ax cting the blade at all times even when not cutting, should not be doing that as this means they sre applying lateral force to rhe blsde possibly unevenly. You want em to be as close as posibnle without spinning when the saw is on but not cutting
I was about to purchase one but unfortunately they are made in China and I will not put money in the hands of our enemy. Is there a good bandsaw made in America?
I don't think any large power tools are made in the US anymore. I could be wrong. But I know the most used ones are not. Powermatic, Grizzly, Delta, even Sawstop are all manufactured in Taiwan. Honestly most are made in the same facilities with different quality demands.
I bet the majority of what you own are made in china🤡
