  • Egan Bernal, Geraint Thomas, Carlos Rodriguez, Tom Pidcock or Filippo Ganna are some of the INEOS cyclists who are in the doldrums because of the failure of marginal gains. Now, a new superhero, CEO John Allert unveils the team's evil plan to bring the Brits back to win the Tour de France for monsters like Tadej Pogacar or Jonas Vingegaard.

      If its use is as rampant as people claim, there'd be more people caught. There's no way the UCI isn't aware of how to detect the technology during bike checks, unless they're part of it.

    • @pmcmpc
      @pmcmpc Před měsícem +1

      @@abdul-kabiralegbe5660 they don't apply their own rules for checks. Even the Giro last year they were mostly absent, including both TTs (lul). There were significant lapses at the TdF too - including zero checks in Paris. I think you can assume it's pervasive at smaller races where nothing is ever checked. And there's never been a parc fermé.

      Historically speaking and correct me if I'm wrong, but only 1 person, in 2016 some cyclocross participant was caught with a bike motor in a pro race. In my opinion UCI would have to be implicit (allowing it to happen) for them to not be caught if it were pervasive. And if that were the case then they are risking a complete destruction of the sport should they be proved to be conspiring with riders. Doping in the past has caused paranoia in the future, everyone uses "cheating" to explain off any anomaly.

    If something like motor doping coming out from world tour, then the sport will have a big negative impact. That could be the reason why UCI never went deep on it! But I’m convinced that the problem there is and is also growing together with pharmacological doping

    Man, Brailsford must be feeling like an idiot right now. "You mean I could have pursued maximum gains instead of marginal ones?"

    • @JohnPreston888
      @JohnPreston888 Před 16 dny

      And a misrepresentation gains traction. Aside from any other thing, it was "The AGGREGATION of marginal gains." Which can work. Even outside athletic pursuits. Read "Out Of The Crisis" by W.E. Deming. Dave Brailsford's system was sound. Whether or not anyone can win on talent, training and diet has long been suspect. But "aggregation" works - It's why Deming helped turn Japanese industry from a bit of a joke to a powerhouse. Perhaps Samsung has a huge market share and its screens are better because they are secretly doping?
