      @alexanderguzman6235 Před 2 lety +3

      Sig Sauer would be way better off if they adapted a micro style of the p226 style gun, based around the p365 magazine. Everything about the p938 would have to be redesigned to make it doublestack since it's so freaking thin already.

    • @alexanderguzman6235
      @alexanderguzman6235 Před 2 lety +2

      @E the p938 is still smaller and thinner than a p365. It shoots better too. And cosinderinf how fast they still move at local gun stores, the p938 is still far from dying.

      @E I mean I don't hear reliabikity complaints about the p938 very often. If at all. If anything the p365 has has a much worse history of reliability issues. Either of them at this point are extremely reliably so that seems like a moot point between them.

    @joedesua1984 Před 2 lety +6

    Quick overview, it’s absolutely great. Remember it’s for CC self defense. That’s 21’ or less. You don’t need night-sights because you should be point shooting in that situation NOT aiming with sights. Especially if in low light or darkness. You’d be blinded by the muzzle flash. It’s very accurate, fits my hand, medium size, very well. I’ve even seen a guy with large hands shoot it no problem. No trigger issue for anyone who knows how to shoot. There’s 12 rounds in the mag so expect it to be a little tight. Love the 1911 style safety. If it was good enough for John Browning it’s good enough for me. I was never comfortable cocked and locked striker fire but this hammer fired external safety I have complete confidence in. Also there are some really good Kydex holsters made for this gun both IWB and OWB type. So in summation, 👍👍.

  • @82lowe36id

    For people that prefer a 1911 manual of arms, looks like a great option. I will stick with the Shield. The biggest pro about SAO is the trigger pull. Will be interesting to see what Apex does for this gun. Also will be interested to see what the Performance Center model offers. Wish they would have kept the traditional S&W serrations.

      @zdub8438 Před 2 lety +1

      As someone who prefers the 1911 manual of arms, a gritty 8# trigger with a Glock safety defeats the entire purpose of single action. It's an abomination. S&w has been going down hill since they stopped bluing guns. It's sad to see how far they have sunk.

    • @bannedbycommieyoutube5time920
      @bannedbycommieyoutube5time920 Před 2 lety +15

      @@zdub8438 apparently you didn’t watch the review in regards to the trigger. It was not 8 lbs. He showed it was 5-6 lbs once he had a couple hundred rounds through it, which is acceptable for that particular guns use (concealed carry). It’s all about application. You could probably polish it or go aftermarket (eventually) if you wanted to make it better. The trigger “dingus” is also irrelevant for the guns use. Concealed carry is up close, center mass, fast shooting. It’s not a target gun.
      Smith and Wesson still makes some great guns. Accurate, reliable, the finish/treatment they use on the M&P series is fantastic from a durability perspective, good ergonomics, so your shrill reaction to this gun is unwarranted.
      We are in agreement though that old school Smith and Wesson firearms are the best from a materials used, beauty, and craftsmanship (example - old smith and Wesson blued revolvers, 5900 series, etc). Frankly, if we could go back in time I’d love it. However, to not recognize the pros of the new stuff and calling it junk is being very closed minded, particularly for carry guns that are exponentially better now from a size, weight, caliber, and reliability perspective.

    • @zdub8438
      @zdub8438 Před 2 lety +2

      Poor accuracy is acceptable to you. It's not acceptable to a 1911 guy.

His EDC is either a Commander size 1911 or his Kimber Micro 9 stainless. During Black Friday, Scheels and many LGS around me had so many great deals for the Springfield Hellcat (OSP model was around $450) and S&W Shield series (including Shield Plus) were $50 off. Even then my grandfather didn't want one when my dad offered to get one for him. The new S&W CSX seems perfect for someone like my grandfather. The capacity is almost double the capacity of his Kimber Micro 9 and his 40+ years of experience with a 1911 can still be used on this new pistol. Seems like a winner to me and my family can't wait to get my grandfather his first new pistol in a while. Hopefully he likes the trigger and the possibility of slide bite isn't an issue.

    SAO triggers are pretty easy to work over with a little polishing and perhaps a spring change. 4# should be doable, and still be safe.
    Id like to see a set of Trijicon sights for sure.
    I can see some decent aftermarket support for these with a few parts really making this thing shine.

    Not every gun is for everyone. It’s easier than ever these days with CZcams review channels like this that help guide you to your preferences. One thing, there is no doubt about S&W quality and reliability. Plus it’s not made in Turkey.

    If it shoots anything like the P938, I think it'll be a great gun. I love the idea of a slim gun with a low bore axis. They shoot comfortably and the capacity would finally make me consider it over other carry options. Night sights would be good though.

    I was a 1911 guy up to 15 years ago! Now I’ve been carrying a striker-fired pistol and see no reason to go back. So 1911, G19, Sig P320cRX, Sig P365XL Romeo Zero; I’m happy. Oh, And NOT Optics Ready? Major yesterday..

    i had a chief's special 5 shot revolver i bought from Sargent-Sowell in grand prairie tx 1975 when they would sit you down in the office and bring the item to you like a fine wine. also known as SA-SO. classy. more of a gut shooter

    Yep sticking with my shield 1.0-night sights, 10 rd mag (hyve) with apex trigger and barrel upgrade (tru precision) for carry. Always nice to have more carry options though! Personally Looking at Springfield’s xdm elite compact with hex red dot for my next carry piece.

    I think thats the first semi auto pistol s&w has released that im excited about, I've always been partial to a metal frame pistol but most are bulky and really heavy, seems s&w has eliminated the negatives and kept the positives

    Smith & Wesson asked me what I would like to see in a new pistol. I said bring 3rd generation pistols back and they took most of my advice. It's compact like a 457, but I still want to see a 45 Auto, a 10mm, a 40S&W, and a 357SIG in a bigger package but it's an all metal gun and not striker fired!

    I'd like to see this design upsized... Like I understand I am essentially asking for more 1911 variants but I honestly would just like to see what S&W could do if they wanted to put a double stack single action only that isn't a super expensive triarc or nighthawk custom. Want 10mm too.

      They probably have it, but they have to make guns for conceal carry because that’s what mostly sells, but I really want this in a full size.

    Hey thanks for another great video and I just want to say I appreciate your views as you are straight up and honest always and very informative. One of the absolute best reviewers out there as far as I am concerned. Thanks for the work you put in and keep it up!!
    Interesting that they made a hammer fired compact 9 but maybe that will open up the market to others doing the same? I have several of each style (hammer/striker) but my heart is with the hammer fired DA/SA if I had a choice.

    Interesting piece. I'm left handed and really like the controls of this new gun. Might have to bite... maybe. I have the original P365 and love it. But this has ambi controls and that's a plus.

    I normally strongly dislike all of the youtube noise of the next new sub-compact carry hotness. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's affordable, probably shoots 9mm, has a small footprint and shoots reliably.
    I'd rather stab myself in the eyes and ears than watch another sub-compact review, but for some reason, I will sometimes watch James do one. Probably just for the chance at some snarky comedy relief. I couldn't care less about the review though. I do Glock for utility. I'm good. Forever. It's like my wife. Uncomfortably rotund and not much to look at, but I know I can always depend on it to do its job and clean up a mess.

    Nice already seen some pre mature jerk offs release to soon and call the gun heavy. I mean it weighs less than the polymer shield and holds more ammo what's heavy about it. Nice video. You can definitely tell professional gun reviews vs amateur.

    Aside from the single action trigger (that James was not impressed with), S&W is catching up with Sig P365. I love me some S&W stuff though, and this one looks pretty sweet.

      Perhaps S&W wanted a deep conceal & a perfectly shootable gun with their CSX and plus like the Sig has with 365 & XL?

      I don't know if the goal should be to "catch up" with a 4 year old gun. They should be trying to one up it.
