    I have this same truck and engine. It’s knocking like crazy with 130,000 miles 2001 model. I changed the oil and filter regularly. I guess it’s the engine and really wonder if it’s worth fixing? I see this isn’t a weekend project without tools and knowledge how to get it done.

    I have the same truck with 5.9 4×4. It's a 99. How do you remove the crankshaft? I need to watch a video on it

      Once the engine is out and mounted on an engine stand, rotate the engine so that the oil pan is facing up, remove all of the bolts that hold the oil pan in place, remove the oil pan and you will see the crankshaft and rods, remove the connecting rod nuts and push the rods away from the crankshaft then loosen and remove the main bearing cap bolts TIP: mark the location and direction that the bearing caps are facing before you remove them, then lift the crankshaft out of the engine BE CAREFUL THE CRANK IS VERY HEAVY one last tip, make sure to remove the timing chain and flex plate/ fly wheel before removing the crank

    Could you tell me the best way to drop the transmission from the motor... need help

    • @thundersnoopgaming353
      @thundersnoopgaming353 Před 2 lety

      Start with the driveline, remove the driveline. Remove the transmission bolts from the motor, remove the transmission hoist bolts and the transmission lines make sure you have a jack on the transmission and lower it slowly

  • @carlosmontanezmendoza3111

    Hey I have a question I did this on my truck and i reinstalled it but now the engine won’t stay on unless I have the foot on the gas you guys know why ?

      If you havnt figured it out yet and you still got it it's something with the fuel or air system ide check to make sure there isn't any air being sucked into the engine besides the air intake and if that isn't it your gonna wanna check fuel lines and all that

      Idle air control valve, intake filter gasket, plenum gasket, or a vacuum leak elsewhere, if it sounds healthy but won't idle it's probably the iacv, you can pop the throttle body off and clean the two a bit but it's more than likely a vacuum leak had the same issue in mine and it was just a intake gasket

    Where do you get the plate that you bolted into the intake to connect the hoist chain to?
