Well done for getting to 25,000 Crawford. You've tried so hard and deserve the success. Onwards to 50,000🥳
Absolutely right smaller lively calves much better than big dozy ones
Couldn't agree more, small calves up far quicker and sooking
White muscle disease ?
Sorry to hear about the big fella, such a shame. 😢😢
I think you need to get some kit kats and penguins bought for your little helpers.
I remember penguins, they were sold in the tuck shop at school. We are talking early 60’s. Showing my age😩
@@carolcurtis2220 better than a kit kat by far.
Cows and calves been out and now back in for couple of weeks, wet as farts over here on the Isle of Man 🇮🇲
Sorry about the calf. May have been something metabolically wrong that caused him to grow so large in utero. That weather looked wicked. 👍😊👍
You really are a good egg.
Great video Crawford it’s a pity about that big calf but hi that’s farming ups and downs 👍
Another great video, sorry the big man didn’t make it.
Video liked Uncle Crawford get the biscuits in!
Been watching you from the start Crawford and you honestly deserve so much more viewers than you already have, your videos are A1 and always make my day better.
Cheers Crawford
Penguin for Fredie.😊
Great looking beasts. Sorry about the big calf.
Crawford, check out the band Jet Black Tulips. My son is the lead guitarist, liam gallagher listens to them and they are No. 70 in the charts at 5he minute and they are kinda local boys, Scottish singer living in Belfast.
Sad news about monster calf. Fields will dry eventually and weather will improve - but just when? Then as you say everything will come at once.
Got to love a bit of Sam Fender.
Great video as always congrats on 25000 subs well done
I’m in East Yorkshire, not much chance of putting cattle out yet, having to buy a few bales of silage in,thank god I’ve got plenty of straw.
You are 100% right about calve size ,I gave up putting autumn calvers in calf to a Charolais as cows got too fit in summer and far too many calving problems changed to AA but still used the Charolis for late feb march calving as easier to keep cows leaner
Sorry to see Oreo Tank didn't make it. Daffodils standing well in the field as you drove past. Grass is growing well but no sign of beasts out yet.
Cattle look great.
Nice Fed by Farmers sweatshirt
Here on East Coast of Ireland little or no spring sowing done still trying to harvest last year's spuds .
Cattle are back in again as land ie very very wet Crowford
Sheeted Somerset cattle
out for three weeks to calve here in North Somerset .
Too much cut in the ground but the light roller puts that right and the grass is growing.strip grazed and back fenced so not in the same spot for more than a day
Sorry for your loss mate
You’re exactly right regarding the calving. Big calves big pulls hard on cows and you. We’ve not got any cows out sbarley has been ditched for grass a year early. Bloody sick now 40mm rain Tuesday. 😢
So do we get a "biscuit" for watching ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's the video liked hope you have a packet of kit kats and a packet of penguins for your staff 😂
a lot good music in the last videos
Sorry to hear about the calf , you certainly did everything you could to give it the best chance of survival ! The weather has been appalling recently must be really difficult for all the farmers to get anything done . I hope that Uncle Crawford went and bought a packet of Penguins and Kit Kats for the kids 👍 Great video as always .
Hi Crawford . Now you have the belltie Beautys , I hope your going to show them more .
Amazing video so sorry to hear about the calf
We had rain but also some real sun today a bit farther south in Ile de Fr.😊 Good video of independant industry!
Evening young Crawford, in Warwickshire I would expect the cattle out in about 14days time, late this year
Stock will start to go out this weekend for us…desperately need to get on proper grass! And than the joy of mucking out 🤪
All the spring crop sown here in caithness, scotland. Started with the sowing out and about but sadly rain last 2 days put a stop to that
Sorry to hear about your calve to early an wet here jist started fanceing today in NS CANADA
We've a fairly dry farm here in the south of Ireland and even we've cows in. They may get a few hours out here and there but every drop of rain pushes thing out a few more days. Zero tillage work done and Milk is well back. Testing times.
120mm of rain in 2weeks here, nothing out apart from ewes n lambs, enough silage n straw left for 2 weeks max
There’s been some dexters out for the last month in fields opposite my house, but they are on steeply sloping fields on Cotswold brash which is fairly free draining. I think the big milking herd must be out on the outskirts of the village as there is mud on the road where they cross.
Penguin is a good choice. 2.5k has been reached, I guess that means you'll be buying some... Do they still have jokes on the packets?
Some store cattle out here but they are making a mess 😬 no tillage work done yet water standing on the fields. Buying in extra straw and silage. Anglesey
Here in Wiltshire we have our dairy cows out for a few hours here and there but they are making a huge mess
Biscuits are required I think Crawford. Get yourself down to Tesco in Perth.
👍 hope you get your biscuits,
So sorry about calf fella!!!
Just liked, now go and buy some penguins!!! 😂
No cattle out.. for us in Northumberland.. normally it’s the middle of may b4 we have enough grass and it allows lambs to be up and strong b4 they encounter cattle…. As for spring crops… not a chance… fields are still sitting in water… constantly raining ain’t helping the situation!!
I once came up to a set of lights like that in a fire engine with a full crew. 2 choices, keep going or hit the brakes. Kept going.....so instead of everyone going flying they all ducked🤣🤣🤣🚒
👍
Why do u have them small feed passages in the new shed
That blackmail was it. Endex
Far too wet here ( north of Aberdeen)to either sow or let cattle out. Could really do with both happening soon.
Shame about your big calf, the beauty of having twins about the place though.
0:07 great content again shame about the calf
He is on about a penguin bar 😂
sorry about calf especially when you tried so hard to get him going no wonder you were gutted in the morning after you thought he was away. you couldnt have knocked fence down with a new type pickup
sad start for the video ..gutted for you guys
Have you considered putting your youtube on all your machinery (forklift tractors and the combine)?
First and great video Crawford
Freak
Penguin and KitKat ….. tough decision….. pity about that calf.
How did the calf you adopted on get on with its new mother?
Working progress…
Around York I’ve seen cows in the fields 👍🏻 sorry for the big lads death 😢
Yea ever make pit silage
You shouldn’t tag the calfs as early incase something happens to them
What do you do with fallen stock in Scotland? Is it down to the knackerman?
Wee bit of cardboard or a hessian sack under the straps on the edge of the steel Crawford bud 👌
Or if you want to go true old school bale twine on a hitch 😂😂
Ideally a small calf with great growth rates!! EBVs help with that but you don’t want a big calf in my eyes
Do you just select by eye rather than by weight. ???
😊
Yes, be able to do more by weight once cows are out. Will shift all stock to new shed & scales
Co Antrim. Wouldn't even put ducks out on my land , 😩
Gutted for you about the calf, awful to hear his mother. 😢
Perhaps some calf jackets might help
I am not surprised that the big calf didn't make it. By the way, it was acting from day one. It was big but weak and didn't have much fight in it. I would be looking at the cow to see if there is an underlying disorder that caused the calf to grow so big, a metabolic disorder, or the bull selection if it was out of a cow you brought in for example
Was was bought in calf so unknown bull
@@CrawfordsFarm1 I think a chat with your vet and see what they have to say. There must be a reason why it grew so big because nothing else has been over grown. You don't want a repeat performance next year
That SU$%# No only losing a calf and the income . It was a nice looking animal .
😢
Big dopey calves are a disaster. Had a 35kg Sim heifer calf here last night up and sucking 20mins after hitting the ground. Pedigree breeders have to see that monsters aren’t desired by most suckler cow farmers!!
Ok then fine ill like the video
Kit kat
Sorry about the Huge calf, I guess you always think what could you have done different
Sorry abt the big fella, but u could’ve reared him as a bull and maybe showed and sold him
Surely though the bigger the bull and the bigger your heffers and the bigger mum's will have less trouble with bigger calves
Like for a Penguin 👍
we have sheep atrt😐
The Big Calf appeared like he had a white muscle disease... As the Mother had calves before ? Now go pick up a Penguin for the Little ones🐧🐧
Poor guy looks like he's got pneumonia
You're only 100 likes short right now. Guess you better find a penguin quickly!
Now now crawford. You should know better. On steel you use chains. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You need to be prepared to give big slow calves enema’s. They drink too much and don’t crap enough - it is too hard to push out for them.
It would be great content for you - showing how to enema a calf!!
