Afew more individual pens would be a good idea using hurdles also try to get some colostrum from a dairy farmer better than the powder

You've plenty of room use your hurdles to set up individual pens. Energy paste on the tongue helps. Get a dairy farmer to take some colostrum and bag up and put in freezer ready. Better than powdered version.

We used to have an injection that we'd put in the calfs tongue. Can't for the life of me remember what it was called.

🤞🏻the wee one pulls through. As people have said - calf jackets, plenty of heat lamps and have a section of the new shed sectioned off in to individual pens to match thr rough estimate of calves due. You did well under the pressure 👍🏻

Would be worth getting a sled for moving calves. Did you have a bull pen free for isolation? Doubt you will get such a run of twins again but would be handy to get them separated while the cows and calves get bonded. It will be a lot easier next year when you’ve ironed out your teething issues…

Get cows they said it’ll be fun they said 😳 fair play to you you did what you could we’ve got a couple of calf jackets after having experience like this. Just watch yourself with cows with new calves in the middle of the night with no one else around. There’s no one to hear you call for help this is coming from experience. Great videos showing the good and the bad.

I wouldn't put a jacket on a wet calf, it's rare that you need jackets for Sucklers. Heat lamp should do the trick. Hope he survives, you've done your best , got him warm and got him fed. Twins can go either way.
Tube of red start gives them a great boost
Ol ear tags on elastic bands for calf collars so can note down who had what till tag the calves is what we do on dairy herd calving in field and can have 30 calves a night.
Was the extension unwound fully? If not maybe that’s why the breaker was tripping. Be lots of heat in a spooled cable. Check it’s not melted any of it

Need a set of calf booster colostrum stomach tube with bag special calf booster paste calf jacket and gloves so not cross pass disease from one cow to other
Tom Pemberton just changed his Angus bull because all his cows were having twins because of him. if he carried on producing twins do you think you will have to change your Angus bull?
Bit confused, only 3 sets total last year…
I also think it was down to him getting dangerous and big calves especially in relation to his heifers 🤷♂️
Pemberton got rid of bull cos calves were BIG & the bull was mental!!

Great video again have them water bowls not got a bottom inlet ? Then the pipes would be under the bowl rather than going up and over them?

Why not put a small square or triangular calf creep pen behind the feed bunker so they can go chill away from the cows when they want.
