    You missed the interaction with -x/-x effects. I could see people having doubts about that!

      Right you are!
      704.5f If a creature has toughness 0 or less, it’s put into its owner’s graveyard. Regeneration can’t replace this event.

    Does a regenerated creature deal damage? I always find the "removed from combat" part the most confusing.

    • @ManfredPlusMagic
      @ManfredPlusMagic  Před 4 měsíci

      Great question! It does not, it's completely removed from combat so it doesn't deal damage. I believe it's still blocking though. Trample damage goes through if that's the case

      @@ManfredPlusMagic All non-first strike combat damage is dealt simultaneously, so the creature will in fact deal damage before it would die and pop the regeneration shield instead. (The remove from combat is part of the shield triggering, not part of the ability activating.)
      If, for example, a 2/2 creature with a regeneration ability that has been activated blocks a 1/1 with deathtouch and first strike, it would regenerate after dying to deathtouch, get removed from combat, and be unable to hit back. (Similarly, if a blocking creature with an active regen shield is dealt lethal direct damage or otherwise destroyed between blockers being declared and damage being resolved, it is removed from combat, neither deals nor receives damage to or from the creature it was blocking, and the blocked creature is still blocked. [Note there are effects that block a creature without actually putting another creature in front of it. Curtain of Light and Trap Runner's ability are two. This works similarly.] If the blocked creature had trample, however, since there is no longer a body to absorb damage, it all goes through.)

      @@m2pt5 But I still dont understand the words "remove it from combat". Does it mean that creature goes back to the owners hand or graveyard, or is it still on the battlefield??

      @@m2pt5 And if a card, as in the video, like Ghost Ship "pay three blue: Regenerate Ghost Ship". Can I pay three blue whenever I want to? So if my opponent play a card that says "Destroy target permanent", am I able to pay three blue after my opponent cast the "destroy spell" and resolve regenerate?
