What class were you running in with this? Thinking about getting an R53 as my first hillclimb car but uncertain whether it be competitive with the supercharger induction penalty (1.7x?)
Hi , in the normal class system as it stands I would be in A3 , which is upto 2600cc , some venues separate 4wd and 2wd at wiscombe as it currently stands they do not so your up against big power quattros and rod in his tuned Alfa Romeo 4c , if they weren't there it would be nice and competitive between the fiestas , Clio's and turbo mx5s , they are a great option for Hull climbing as they can be competitive with relatively simple mods , on the new tarmac I did a 46.12 but unfortunately the cameras weren't rolling on that one. If your down south I'd strongly advise joining the club I now run with that is Downton MC , we are at all wiscombe events and have our own class which is primarily new and old minis and it's much more competitive and more likely to get some silverware , that's why me and my brother joined and there a great bunch of lads that are always happy to help , that said all the wiscombe regulars are a great bunch of people , I love it there feel free to follow us on Instagram @cobbracing53 and @downtonmotorclub
Thanks Ethan, I'm up in Scotland with Doune being my local hill but thanks for the suggestion. As a new license holder im intending the first year just to get experience and reckon the r53 will provide some giggles (i already have a classic cooper S but too fearful to take that on track!)
