nope. watch the whole set. his guitar keeps getting cutting off, this song was the only decent song he could play nicely ,and his mic was too soft ,he was pissed.
@@dpedrosoliano He said on Twitter shortly after the festival that he got shocked by the mic multiple times, and if I remember correctly, Matt mentioned it at one point between songs
Well Corey was yelling at the mic guy to turn his up 0:38 - 0:40 then Paulo yelled at his mic guy to turn his up at 1:08 . So Corey had probably had enough and knocked it
@@trevorvolcom7 i was told that Corey was getting electrocuted on his lip thats why he threw it. i think he was definitely pissed about the mics not being turned up as well so it all amounted to that.
Matt really went through the Hetfield phase in full mode haha at first he made a young Hetfield impression, then, just like Hetfield, he lost his voice and returned with short hair and a nasal voice with no grit or energy... The Hetfield of my own generation haha way to go Heafy!!
True. Ascendancy, The Crusade and Shogun are records I always come back to. the newer stuff...meh. In Waves had a few good songs. Silence in the Snow is the total sell-out.
Literally if I was a fan on stage while their playing I would head bang stage dive and get backstage with a pass and do it again about 5 times on this song alone
Sometimes even for musicians it's hard to tell them apart. The same thing happened with the Orion solo, as many fans missed the fact it's a bass guitar solo!
Such an unfortunate start for Corey, Lets have guitar issues the first 2 songs then get electrocuted for Becoming :/ Still played a monstrous set though!
+Ta-shann Fearon Well For Silence in the snow Corey's Jackson kept cutting out then for Down from the sky, it pretty much stopped working, i assume it was a bad wireless connection. Then for becoming his microphone was electrocuting him, hence the slamming it into the floor.
+ChristiannGuitarDude Its what I've heard and read in a review of the set, you couldn't really tell if you were there, just looked like he was pissed off, but with good cause.
@Dakota McGee put yourself in matt's shoes, playing live on average 6 days a week burns your voice out, especially the way his old scream put so much strain on his voice. when he blew it out its not like hes deliberately toning down the screams. Hes doing the safer method but with the condition of his voice and the damage to his vocal chords, affects the sound. Hes been getting on track, and with TSATS and WTDMS hes done the old scream on the record. he fell backwards in his career when he blew his voice out and had to relearn everything. So hes gotten better. it wouldn't make sense for them to disband either because lots of people, myself included, still love their music, regardless of the screams
@Dakota McGee Have you actually listened to their last two records (which are AMAZING btw, especially the drumming) or are you saying they suck because they haven't released a Shogun 2.0
Ok listen to the drum pattern how it's almost exactly like the studio version, when the double bass disconnect from the gallops and it just build more tension and energy, I'm pointing this out because I heard this song with nick and he just starts this fast double bass that's not really like the studio version, no hate on nick tho, just appreciation for travis who wrote it and for those who play it ON POINT
The thing is both Travis and Nick were on point in studio. Maybe it was multiple takes. But live, their speeds always disconnected. Nick rushed too much and was way over the place, and Travis's timing flitted sometimes slow sometimes fast. Madiro is quite on time here. It's just his own drum lines on Silence in the Snow were a little more rock suited. People give that album too much hate. But it really grows on you. And you can hear it's influences on Sin and the Sentence.
Yo what do u think they do if they have to take a shit really bad on stage??? It’s questions like these that make u realize how amazing trivium is By holding their poops for us;)
There were problems with his guitar throughout the first two songs, and then the microphone shocked him which is why he threw it down. Just wasn't a good night for Corey
On the contrary, he is better live than Travis or Nick. He is well in time. I think Paul was on time in the shows he played as well. Alex just smokes everyone out. Nevertheless, Madiro does not fall short at all. His own drum lines suit rock more. His drumming sounds perfect in From Ashes to New.
because he blew out his voice in 2013. hes been relearning how to do everything safer and with the strain on his voice already, the proper technique sounds different than it should
He gets shoked by that mic at 0:36 and his wireless system kept cutting his guitar signal at Down From The Sky and Silence In The Snow. So he was pretty pissed.
+Joel Plascencia I disagree, that's what I've disliked about all of their records since Shogun. Not saying they have to scream, or that there isn't a place for Matt's new style, but back then their clean vocals had a different sound to them. They were thrashier, more like a Pantera or Metallica sound than the newer Iron Maiden or Judas Priest sound. I'm all for new things, but the problem here is that in the process of trying new things, they're leaving the old things behind.
+Joel Plascencia Oh, I understood that from your comment. You said "I wish they would..." and that was enough for me to know that. I'm simply stating my preference for the opposite. That's what a comment section is for, right?
tbh madiro's drumming is mediocre. kinda like SITS. but with alex bent and TSATS, and now WTDMS, i think theyre better and they can go further as a band with alex
If you watch closely Matt’s singing along to a backing track of his vocals because his vocal cords were damaged from his old screaming style. Say what you want about singing over a backing track but I gotta give the guy credit for still wanting to go out and tour rather than stay home. Matt’s as committed as any musician to his band. Trivium has been is life basically. And he’s long since recovered, learned new screaming techniques from a vocal coach, and sounds better than he ever has. Only seen them once live and dying to see them again. The best sounding live show I’ve ever been to.
There's nothing more horrible than talking or singing to an electrocuted mic, some days ago a guy died in my country because of it. Some people think is funny or just a problem, when it could actually harm you.
2:05 Matt's like: Shit! Can't let Corey steal the show!
