Every Offlaner in Dota 2 Explained - Part 1

- I’ve already finished talking about every support, and now we move on to the Offlaners. If you didn’t already know, Offlane is Dota’s most varied role. There are tanks, damage dealers, split pushers, and more. You name it? You can probably have it in the Offlane. They also have the role of making space for their other cores and bullying the crap out of the enemy carry. As a beginner, you can pick pretty much any hero as an offlaner and kinda make it work. But the heroes in this series are just a great starting point.
Note that I will talk about certain Support heroes that I have already mentioned in the previous series, but in the interest of my own sanity, I won’t go super into detail in their kit. And I will only do this for heroes that have a somewhat substantial difference in gameplay, for example Pudge Core plays differently from Pudge Support.
For the experienced players watching this, if you feel I missed out on something, if you want to add to anything I mention, or if you want to share a tip, go ahead and leave it in the comments down below.
Note that I’m only going to be covering heroes in what I believe to be their natural roles. This will be a combination of Dotabuff, Dota2ProTracker, and my gut feel as a person who’s just played a lot of Dota.
Also take note that I’m not a high level player. I haven’t played a ranked match in literal years. I’ve just played a lot of Dota for fun, and have picked up enough about all the heroes to be able to understand the bare minimum of what they do. I will still share my opinions and takes though, because this is my video and I do what I want. Just remember to take them with a grain of salt.
I’ll mainly be talking about hero kits, that includes all of their abilities, aghanim’s upgrades (both scepter and shard), and my recommendations for Talents and Facets. I won’t mention item builds because these are very fickle, but I will mention if a hero is traditionally played with a certain item.
And while I said that I would be covering multiple heroes in separate roles, I’m only going to mention heroes that have a significant playstyle change when going from support to core. Spirit Breaker, for example, doesn’t really change whether you’re playing him as a support or as a core, even though you could viably play him in both Pos 4 and Pos 3.
I’m also going to assume you watched my previous series, so I won’t be covering every single skill from heroes that I already covered. If you haven’t, go watch it. Knowing what every hero does in general will help you out as a player.

An explanation for Dark Seer's normal punch : Icefrog really liked the 1st season of One Punch Man
If that's the normal punch then I don't want to get hit by the serious punch
Yeah, I would assume the same reasoning, but the clone kinda breaks that idea. HOWEVER, the real question is: why on Dark Seer?
he punches a replica out of an enemy's soul. as to why on dark seer - he fights with his fists and runs really fast, so it would make sense that he can charge a super-punch
@@massaosaito4084 I havent played dota in YEARS but how many heros use like actual punches as autoattacks, aside from Tusk.
Lifestealer claws, as well as undying.
I cant think of other heros that actually punch as attacks. Help.

Something to note, but Bristleback actually prefers the +20 quill stack damage talents as it rockets his damage output through the roof especially with Aghs. It's what allows BB to stay relevant til late game and why he's been a menace for the early 7.36 patches

Something that I think is worth mentioning regarding Brewmaster's Level 15 +1x brewed up talent is the way it buffs storm stance. Once you take that talent, you actually get 105% evasion during the brewed up duration, meaning that without some form of accuracy, you are completely immune to all auto attacks. This makes brewmaster especially strong against AA reliant comps.
I was thinking about that during testing! This current iteration of Brew is so fun and I hope more people will play him
Important thing about Doom, his innate is worded wrong. Not just his attacks will deal 15% bonus damage against enemies of lower level, all of his damage is increase by 15% against lower level enemies, including ult damage
Edit: I figured this out after being very confused why the damage per tick for the ult on a target dummy was not the damage it said on the ability, and after a bit of math figured out it was dealing exactly 15% more than it should have been, and put 2+2 together
Also when Doom has level 30 his innate works on all enemies (even if they have level 30)

Finally, the first time hawk tuah is actually funny
I had no idea that broodmother had that web trap thing and i've been seeing her in games quite often in the last month after the patch. I never was a big brood player and she was never really a popular hero, so I guess that kind of explains it. Although she is the reason why I got into dota. I watched some hero spotlights, saw a giant spider that creates her own base and spawns an army and thought that it's super badass. Then I got into the dota 2 beta, tried her out, failed and i've played her like 10 times since 2012.
Also a very important thing about dawnbreaker ult - the stun pierces BKB. Oh also Dark seer's normal punch is a reference to one punch man but I can't see what makes him similar to saitama at all. I guess no hair and punching as a main form of attacks?
Now is the perfect time to be playing Brood tbh! She's gotten really strong this patch and using her has never been easier
Brood was kinda my main hero before, playing as Carry and Mid, though I've been playing supports for the past year and I think I should go play Itsy Bitsy and some other Offlane heroes, though I miss her Invisibility on Webs
Yeah she's really strong, maybe I should try her, although I think she's stronger as a pos 1 or 2 and I'm a 3/5 player.
I'm not worried about her being hard to micro or anything, even back in the day my main heroes were visage, NP and PL. It was more of an issue that brood is very unique because of the webs and the whole thing that you can't freely rotate and you kind of telegraph your map position with them and requires you to focus on one lane. Plus I had no idea how to play dota, it was my first match and found out other heroes feel better despite me liking her thematically.
Brood is imba because you spawn a web at mid, so the enemy midlaner gets reduced hp regen(including bottle..)
Its really annoying playing mid when theres a brood in enemy team… ofc you can „just walk out“ to use bottle… but most of the time you cannot evade the web..
This reminded me of an ancient video format in spanish called "X hero in 1 minute" they werent one minute long but were funny sumaries of what a hero does followed by a cool montage of pub plays with that hero, its been 8+ years since the last one was made and the channel got sold/turned into a clip editing channel, this was a beautiful blast back to those days, im glad youre making beginner friendly content like the kind i used to watch when i fell in love with this game, thank you

I think an important note of playing against axe as a support is denying dispells and you often wanna help with dennying anyway
Watching Brood climb the position ladder from 3 to 1 throughout the years has taught me a lot about our society
I miss the days when Doom was literally Doom and it applied Mute and Break at the same time and that time where the Ages just gives you eternal doom if near the enemy
Gotta say, I played core abaddon offlane when I first started playing ranked.
Maxed his Ult > Shield > Curse > attribute bonus leaving Q for level 21 all the way straight to 5k mmr.
I still have a 73% winrate across 200 games.
He's countered hard by some heroes but is an INCREDIBLY easy hero to play offlane when he's not countered.
Was wondering why aba was not on the list.
You forgot to mention that axes 3rd only works when axe is on the enemy team.
Well, speaking of Dark Seer's quick wit facet... You haven't seen a carry agility focused Dark Seer. Yet. And he is a right-click monster this way

@@Acex2ron 450-500 attack damage and 550-650 attack speed at max. And all Dark seer spells. Pretty strong tho, works even in ranked
I'll explain why Nyx is a nightmare against Dawnbreaker. When DB casts ult, Nyx walks in with his spike carapace and stuns DB. Now you can't finish the cast and and all you can do is go in a corner and cry. That is unless you pop your BKB for the cast but then you waste a good 3 seconds on your BKB duration.
dawnbreaker just needs scepter against nyx+silencer „counters“..

8:15 brewmaster is one of 1x9 heroes. Your earth panda need to be killed, but cannot be disabled. You can freely push towers. If you have refresh, octarine+AC+travel boots you will start PANDAPOCALIPSE. if you got distraited =-lane. And if you play against him u will know why is this so cancerous... And so fun

For centaur retaliate aura is it based on his strength or the allies strength? Like for example the aura covers Medusa. When people attack Medusa is the retaliate based on the Medusa or the Centaur's strength?
Good question! I didn't check for myself because it's a bit too deep for this kind of video, but it's based on the the target hero's Strength--so Dusa's not the best with retaliate aura.

I never liked dark seer.. but I recently experimented with dark seer and then won many games in a row.. now its one of my favs
you start with bracers and arcane boots.. then get echo sabre.. aghanim scepter, shard, heart of taras, shiva's, radiance, blood stone..
you are tanky, you have high hp and mana, and due to universal hero you have damage.. plus intel also increases attack speed..
you constantly give damage with your presence, you slow people.. and punch them towards your teammates

Darkseer has all this rightclick stuff, because there are still people in 2024 that try to deal damage with ionshell without hitting…. Gabe will buff his rightclicks unless people play him like a dota hero..
