- Was there a ban placed on Meghan Markle wearing any Royal Jewelry? The Queen's Collection aka the Royal Collection of jewelry is beyond priceless and is loaned out to Royals at the Monarch's pleasure. Apparently this was a big factor in Meghan Markle's happiness during her short stint with the Royal Family. Today we are taking a look at what went on when it came to the jewels, who got bent out of shape over it and whether or not it was fair.

The fact that KC needed to explain humility and not flaunting wealth to a 37 year old, new or not, says everything about her character.
She wasn't 37 she was over 40 and was only after wealth.
It also clearly displayed her utter lack of education, and ignorance of international affairs.
KC would have had more success trying to teach algebra to a cat.
She was way too old to have been acting that way. I get second hand embarrassment hearing about her behavior
The article fails to mention where the earrings that Meghan wore with the blue dress came from! That turned into a scandal too .
Seriously, I don’t think many, if any, Americans ever heard of Meghan
I watched Suits and didn't even know her name. I forgot she was even in it.
I never heard of her.
@montanacrone8984, lucky you. I've sustained emotional damage from exposure since 2019😅
Even more telling, I bet many still wish they'd never heard of her.
She’s just vapid. Nothing interesting. Has a good voice but not an interesting speaker.
Meghan walked in front of the Queen. 😡 The woman does not understand decency as she is a greedy, common hustler. You are way too nice to her.
COMMON! Perfect word to describe Meagan. At first, Meagan was described as intelligent. As time moved forward, no sign of intelligence was ever discovered or displayed.
😂, I was going to say the same thing!!
She has no manners or class.
That is not totally correct. Walking up tp the car, Meghan was ment to enter via the street side door. Her Majesty would never have been asked to do so due to security, rank and because she preferred to sit in behind the driver. Meghan ignoring the security officers hint and protocol didn ´t leave the Queen any other chance than to let her ( Meghan ) enter first. This is worse than walking in front of the Queen, it makes it look like Queen Elizabeth would let have Meghan the lead, when she just outmaneuvered her. By the way, the cameras where on the side M wanted to be too. Watch the clip, you will see it
@@marysifling279That’s a bit like saying a reptile is intelligent!
She was NEVER in Hollywood! Suits was filmed in Canada and was a cable series. Low budget
Marysifling279, have you forgotten that her father was a lighting director or something in Hollywood when she was younger and actually took her to work with him on several occasions. BTW, Suits may have been filmed/taped in Toronto, but, other than set location it was an American production. This happens frequently when the execs want to get more bang for their buck as unfortunately, our dollar is usually worth less than the American. She was also on Deal or No Deal, whether it was produced in L.A. or N. Y. C. I can’t recall. Again she did not last the entire series.

I think sometimes Harry's wife forgets she's an American. The UK, the monarchy, the entirety of British culture is not hers.Nor does Harry have any business at all interfering with American politics.
Neither one of them are great respecters of boundaries.
That broad thought she could “modernize” the Monarchy (ie. Crown her Queen with Todger Blue as her Prince Consort). How very arrogant to think she as an outsider and foreigner could change a 1000 yo Institution. But that’s our $meg$!
Not all Americans believe or act as Migraine does. I think most Americans respect the UK, Monarchy & awesome traditions. Decent people understand respectful behavior & protocol unlike MM.
As an American, I can unequivocally say that if the monarch offered to loan me piece from that historic collection, no matter the event, I would be too over the moon to care what piece someone else got to wear.
Harry wife never got the memo. Harry, well, as his mum would say. He's "thick as a plank". Nuff said
The fact she couldn’t be bothered to learn, about our history or the protocols of our Royal Family says a lot about her.
RIGHT !!! And NONE of it good !!!
I truly believe she understood. There are plenty of her comments on The Royal Family and Princess Diana in particular on the defunct TIG that she wrote about. Meghan just wanted more than she was entitled to and in her mind, that’s simply unforgivable. She didn’t get her way. We were in front row watching a grown woman have a tantrum. Her weapons were not screaming and crying as children do, she used racism and misogyny as her weapon of choice.
It just says that the RF shouldn't marry trailer trash. I have no time for the woman but too much is expected of her, given her background.
I found her confessed ignorance stunning and not credible outside of being deliberate, esp. if she attended Northwestern (my alma mater). Sure, I know British history extremely well but I knew quite a bit about it before I spent a term at UEA my junior year.

If ever a person was born to rule, being a strong, unwavering Monarch, QE2 was. A remarkable & irreplaceable woman. ❤️ So sadly missed. 😢
The weirdest thing is that she wasn’t born to rule at all - she got lumbered with it because her uncle abdicated. Thank goodness!
@@laurawilliams1090 But she had very good and loving parents ,whose values she copied .
And her father George Vlth ruled as his father had done .
I think I see that same look in Charlottes eye.
I think Meghan came in expecting to be treated like royalty and learned quickly that she had to earn certain privileges. She didn’t like that one bit. 😂😂😂😂😂
She was treated like royalty, and had every possible assistance, and courtesy shown to her. When she appreciated nothing, and abused every privilege, the RF became cautious. They quickly understood the nature of what they had in their midst, and started protecting themselves.
With privileges, comes responsibilities. There is more to being part of the royal family than designer clothes, jewelries, and palaces.
And now she still have to including USA 😂😂
@@maureenchallener1529 it amazed me how she pissed off UK and the US
Being an American, you’re right. We had basically no idea who she was. She was a D actress at best, on cable and in Canada. We were like Meghan who? 😂
There was a story about a diamond bracelet that the Queen loaned Meghan that then ‘disappeared’, so it’s not surprising that she wasn’t loaned much else.
yes, lost allegedly 😢
Angela I think it is alleged other things were also lost and may be that is why MM was guarded by 4 footmen when her husband visited his grandmother at Windsor .
😮😮😮😮😮
I remember that article. She was loaned an expensive diamond and sapphire bracelet from the Queen's personal collection for their engagement photos. We'll it just disappeared. Can't blame the Queen for putting limits on what she could wear.
Think about it? One can count on one hand the times Harry’s first wife wore any royal jewels. The Royal Family were onto her way early. Megan was NEVER worthy of any of it.
I remember the day of the wedding, the queen's look at Markle was as if she knew who she was, that she would only bring discord to her beloved family, this woman is only divisive, her behavior is despicable.
Twice married Meghan marched down the aisle in a white bridal gown. It wasn’t proper.
The color of the bridal gown is no longer considered an indication of the brides purity. Also women who have been married before can still wear white It is a personal decision. Society no longer cares
@@donnalynnhorniacek4785 So true. White wedding dresses only came about due to Queen Victoria. She wore white on her wedding day and then every bride wanted to wear white thereafter. Before then, the bride wore any colour and I fully expect, whatever they could best afford.
The late Queen told M not to wear white. She had a bigger wedding than was expected due to her demands. It’s should have been much lower key. Her veil was too long. Meghan wanted a red carpet but was refused, she was told she could have blue but refused so there was not a carpet at all. The queens face looking at Catherine’s gown against her looking at Meghan says volumes.
She should got married in lemon….to match her husband.
Meghan walked into the family thinking she should be treated the same as Catharine. She forgets that 1 there is a hierarchy and 2 Catharine had been around the family for years and therefore the family knew who she was and what she stood for. Why Meghan thought she was going to walk in there and be treated exactly the same is beyond me.
She considered that as Prince Charles had two sons ,the wives of each would be treated the same .
She can`t get that idea out of her head, which is why it has been reported that she got her husband to suggest that both sons should share the Prince of Wales title and the future throne .
Sorry ,dear ,but years of progeniture don`t get set aside at the whim of an American nobody.
One day Catherine, Princess of Wales, will be the Queen Consort and her eldest son will, one day (very far in the future we hope) become King.
@@gillcawthorn7572Again, she couldn’t be bothered to learn our history.
There has been a Prince of Wales since Plantagenet times; the very first one being Edward of Caernarfon (who to be fair was actually born in Wales), eldest son and heir of King Edward I. He was the first Plantagenet Prince of Wales.
Since that date (733 years) the heir apparent to the English, then British throne is given the title. There’s no “sharesy’s” (sorry if I’ve got the spelling wrong).
There’s also no “sharing” the Duchy of Cornwall, or the monies it makes - which to be fair the now King Charles III has worked very hard for decades to achieve (I’m saying this and I’m not a Royalist).
BTW, I’m English and my fore-bearers were here when the Romans arrived.
@@enkisdaughter4795 We people of the UK understand what it means to live in a Democracy that is also a Monarchy.
@@gillcawthorn7572exactly. It boggles the mind. It’s like she’s got this block up and *refuses* to see how she and Catherine are in different situations. I’m American and it’s really not that complicated.
You know another part of this is that Meg wanted to take a large tiara outside of Britain. This takes a massive amount of security. Someone must be responsible for them and Megs wasn’t trustworthy. It really is rare for these items to leave the country.
@marthasmith2622 On Royal tours, one long term employed by the Queen, is in charge of all the jewels. Tiaras, earrings, necklaces and broches are carried together. They ate transported by the designated staffer and Catherine chooses what she will wear before they leave. Expensive items are given back for cleaning after the event. Lots of jewels are given to Catherine to keep at her hime. She is totally trusted. Meghan didn't stay long enough to be trusted.
@@elizabethgrogan8553 In addition security, and insurance requirements are exacting. MM thought she could pop irreplacable items in her handbag, on demand. Unbelieveable!
Sticky Finger $meg$ would have loved that!
There also are far fewer white-tie events now than there were back in the 1980s. Meg would have been the only woman wearing a tiara at a black-tie event in Fiji. As a junior royal, that would be inappropriate. The queen might appear as the only lady with a tiara, but not anyone below that rank.
I read somewhere that Megnut was banned from borrowing jewelry from the royal treasures since she failed to return several pieces.
wearing a tiara in Figi would’ve been vulgar. To wear the blood diamonds instead was really in bad taste.
OMG Yes!!!!
Yeah, I was going to say…..!
Running around at Fiji with a tiara seems quite out of place to me. Did any royal do that at any time?
We all know she has no taste. Everything is based on what she believes is most expensive.
I believe much of the entire situation was due to Meghan’s demeanor. You don’t marry into a family and walk in demanding things. Or sneaking off when you think no one’s looking to peek at items that you have no permission to be around. Even in our much lower key lives, after your marriage you stood back a little to watch just how the dynamics worked. I think the green eyed monster took over when she saw the jewelry collection. Big mistake.
It's because she was convinced she was very charming and so popular that any behavior was ok. She thought she could displace Catherine 😅😅😅
@@ayakasalih4189 We forgot to add, she’s also very delusional 😂
She thought she’d be treated the same as Catherine. KC had to explain to the sock puppet that Catherine would always come first as she was to become the Princess of Wales and a future Queen consort. Where as Meghan would always remain a mere Duchess.
Exactly. And a quick Google search would have shown her that the crown jewels have guidelines and aren't worn just as and when wanted. MM was known for taking what she wanted from sets and situation. Princess Catherine of Wales had to be talked into wearing such important, historical pieces.
MM’s 1st mistake was thinking that she was in any way equal to Catherine, her second was thinking that Harry was in any way equal to William and I don’t mean that as measured by the love shown to them by the family because I believe the Queen loved all her grandchildren equally but in stature. William didn’t ask to be born 1st, someone had to be. That was the whole point of Charle’s marriage to Diana and not Camilla. Diana was younger, more beautiful and less knowledgeable of the opposite sex shall we say. MM expected to be treated the same as Catherine, but Catherine had earned her stripes. She knows her place, how to act in public and at important events and how to be a lady. MM does not.
Literally no one in the world knew Meghan before Harry despite all her claims to Hollywood.
I worked in the entertainment industry for 20 years and never heard of Markle until the engagement.
Her Father's claim to Hollywood. Her husband's claim to Hollywood. She never would have been in any role without her husband. Many casting directors have said she has no talent and no presence. Poor acting abilities
She just doesn't have it.
As soon as her husband got her on Suits she thought she made it big. Dumped him quickly. She just uses men to get what she wants, then it is over.
I'm certain if a billionaire came along, she would be long gone. No Islamics she told a friend. Their rules for women are to strict. Even though none would want her in the first place. My Islamic friend quipped at the time "we wouldn't want a used car either."😂
The first thing MM did was ‘accidentally lose’ a 100K Diamond bracelet that she was loaned. Why would you loan her anything again? It’s hilarious to find out how the Queen had a duplicate of the tiara MM wore, because she feared it would also ‘get lost’--it did. Think of MM’s face when she found out it was a glass tiara😆😅😂🤣
Wait… the duplicate tiara was “lost ?”

I understood the Queens Grand daughter asked for the use of the Tiara Meghan requested. The Queen had already granted that request to her Grand daughter first.
Yes I believe that's true. Eugenie had to put her wedding off because Harry being senior had precedence. I think Meghan only wanted that particular tiara to wield her new found power and to stick it to Eugenie (a princess in her own right)again. I'm glad our beloved late Queen stuck to her guns.
@@amandamcauleyYou could be right seeing that Meg just had to announce that pregnancy at Eugenie's wedding.
I agree, this I the understanding I had . Eugenie was given permission to wear the emerald tiara at her wedding ; she had to move the date of her wedding to accommodate Harry and Meghan and I understood that info4med the Queen’s decision .
Tiaras and extravagant jewellery is not worn as a matter of course to anything other than major state occasions .
From what I have read, it’s not the emerald tiara Eugenie wore at her wedding. The tiara mm wanted was the huge tiara QUEEN ELIZABETH wore to special events that had hanging emerald rondels all around or an emerald tiara that was of unspecified origin.
@@mariagibson2722 Yes. It was bought at a bargain basement price by Queen Mary from one of the Russian Romanovs. She took advantage of the Revolution.
Queen Elizabeth took great care when and where that headpiece was worn, she didn't like to offend any foreign dignitaries.
This is common knowledge here in the UK. One of the many reasons she is so disliked. As we say here ‘totally up herself’. She is also as common as muck. Rumour has it that because our Queen knew what she was, her wedding tiara was a copy which was all she could be trusted with. Markle hasn’t been invited to a State 9:03 Dinner as she couldn’t be trusted to behave well. She remains an embarrassment to all to this day unfortunately.

After she lost the Queen's bracelet during their engagement photos, what else could the Queen do. All of the tiaras had sentimental value to the Queen. I'm certains
She was hurt over the loss of the bracelet as it was a gift from her sister Princess Margaret.
I would be mortified if I lost any of the Queen's jewelry. They both had the attitude like it was no big loss. Heartless, the two are heartless.
Meghan was allowed to things as a girlfriend that Catherine couldn’t do until she married into the family.
Multiple times
No jewel though. Those don't come into play until outsiders become Royal brides.
This was the Queen's big mistake. Harry was her favorite grandchild, but she shouldn't have made concessions to The Meg. It took HMTQ awhile to realize her big mistake. Her adoration for Harry blinded her.
The fact that she thought she could come into the Royal Family (a thousand year old institution!) and play dress up with priceless Royal jewels tells you everything about her unbelievable level of entitlement and delusion! 😠
I wouldn't trust Meghead with my hat, let alone a diamond tiara.
Meghan wasn't a Hollywood actress, she was an actress on a Canadian cable television show, where the production budget is around $1million per episode, not mega-millions per episode. It's like saying that you're the same as a Rolls-Royce when you're really a Volkswagen.
As a Canadian I never heard of the show until she was engaged to Harry. It was not known as a good show.
Omg I love this
Given how on her Australian tour, her first international tour, she wore blood diamonds that became more memorable demonstrates she is irresponsible when it comes to jewelry and public events.
Those have also conveniently disappeared.
What makes it a blood diamond? I've never looked into it. Did they use slave labor?

The Queen had all the answers before Harry married her. She knew that is the reason for those looks and she didn't like being made a fool of. So the Queen made sure she would not take advantage of what she worked so hard to build and her reputation was another fact the Queen guarded and it worked for her. Then this snippet comes along and thinks she is going to tell the Queen what to do and when. MM will go down in history worse than Wallis Simpson. And we have heard from many other people about jewels and jewelry taken by MM. Oh yes Harry sure did a great job of picking a person to settle down with knowing who she was. His todger was talking and made all the decisions for him. God Save the King.
Queen Elizabeth was no one's fool! She smelled the grifter from the start!
It’s embarrassing to think she would think otherwise. You simply observe and graciously accept what is offered in her situation. Honestly, Royal family or not, some things you should just know.
I mean, being offered *anything* is a privilege, honestly the lack of gratitude is astounding
The Lovers Knort tiara was NOT a wedding gift to Princess Diana. Diana had the exclusive use of it whilst Princess of Wales. The tiara was then and still is part of the collection of royal jewels belonging to the reigning queen.
The most interesting point of this story to me, was that Her Majesty felt the need at all to say something. In an ordinary situation, it wouldn't even come up. The Royal Collection is under the control of the monarch; no one, including the Prince of Wales, can just go in and borrow whatever he or she pleases. And they all know that. What this tells me is that there were so many demands from Meghan and Harry that she had to issue a "ban" in order to stop it. Beebs, you go into terrific detail on all the reasons why it's only logical. All of these things that everyone else knew but Meghan chose to ignore or regard as "racism."
We'll never know for sure, but I suspect that Catherine almost had to be urged to borrow and wear some of the pieces she has been seen to wear. The Nizam necklace, for example. She wore it once a few years after her marriage and looked very self-conscious and rather uncomfortable in it. Her demeanor as she has matured in age and in her role has changed, and when she last wore it she looked at-ease instead.
Meghan's (alleged) expectation that she could wear anything in the vault when she pleased was the complete opposite. It really seems she thought that anyone "royal" could just use everything "royal." She never seemed to get that personal property still exists! And that the monarch makes all the rules. Moreover, a lot of the items were the late Queen's own, not just belonging to the nation/Crown. Queen Mary left her jewelry to Elizabeth personally, including that tiara that Catherine has worn so much. It's the height of presumption to swan into your husband's grandmother's room and paw through her jewelry box, but that seems to be exactly what Meghan assumed she could do.
Apparently Queen Camilla is urging her to branch out and wear items she hasn't worn before now that she is older and William is 1st in line to the throne. Camilla and Catherine have both been seen wearing items not seen in decades, I think I've read somewhere that even Sophie has worn a few new items as well. Jewels need to be worn and Camilla seems to be trying to ensure they get regular outings at suitable occasions. Personally I think this is a great idea, even the most minor of brooches and necklaces need to be worn even if they are only suitable for a visit to an afternoon tea party or luncheon rather than a state occasion.
I'd bet money you're right about people having to urge Catherine to borrow more jewels, and greater ones. She's totally respectful of the rules and doesn't require an overabundance of attention.
@@ABC1701A Good for Camilla! She seems super-thoughtful.
@@ABC1701A That's a fabulous idea and also extremely sensible. Queen Camilla is different in colouring & build to the late Queen, just as Catherine is totally different from Diana. It makes perfect sense that different jewels might suit them better.

Some of the pieces MM might have wanted to wear would not have been appropriate in Fiji, but she doesn't get it. The evidence that MM can't read the room is there in her trip to the school in New York. The cost of her expensive designer clothes and jewellery, could have fed those children for a year. You don't flaunt wealth in those circumstances and the fact that it had to be explained to her, shows her lack of understanding for how things are done.
It was such an unattractive outfit as well. She didn't need to impress anyone with her looks, I think kindness & authenticity would have been much more impressive. I heard she brought a box of vegetables that weren't in great condition.

It is actually about the message it sends to the former colony...that the Queen of UK still believes that she can send her grandsons wife of 5 minutes to Lord over them and shove it in their faces. This is not done anymore and not tolerated by many former colonies that are now commonwealth countries. The commonwealth like the monarchy hangs by a thread and is dependent on goodwill. The ginger brats wifey does not foster goodwill, had no understanding of the commonwealth, behaved like an entitled diva in Fiji and Australia and refused to show due respect to the Native Queen and King of Tonga. The Polynesian Pacific islands have their own royalty. The 5 minute slut chess from America who probably couldn't find Fiji on a map does not get to behave like the Queen. The 4-strand pearl necklace suits the late queen and Catherine better than it did Diana.
Apparently there was an 'issue' about a missing bracelet that was loaned to Meghan and is still missing to this day. Could that also have a bearing on why she was restricted regarding the Queen's jewellery???
The truly ironic thing here is that I get the sense that Kate doesn’t absolutely love wearing the various Crown Jewels including the tiaras. They all just look really really heavy.

Good For The Late Queen! That's one thing I admire about The British Royal Family they gave Meghan a chance(they knew she was trouble was from the start)..but gave a go. 5 years later the Truth has Finally come out (regardless what others may think).
That's why I will ALWAYS TEAM KING CHARLES III & THE REST OF THE BRITISH ROYAL FAMILIY!!
She wanted the emerald tiara, but either Beatrice or Eugenia had already "reserved" it for her wedding. Knowing MM, that is why she wanted to wear it.
And most probably because it's the most expensive tiara in the Queens collection 🙄
Princess Eugenie had asked her Grandmother for it months earlier and The Queen had agreed to it, probably happily,
So interesting to see side by side photos of royal women of different generations wearing the same piece of jewellery. A very enjoyable video, thanks.
Meghan never attended a function that rose to the level of borrowing jewelry. Princess Catherine wasn’t seen wearing something borrowed from QE2 until 2014, 3 years after the wedding (it was the Nizam of Hyderabad necklace). I’m sure the privilege was earned. We know Meghan thought she was above that, and I’m SURE it chapped her ass that her sister in law had access and she didn’t. Meghan hadn’t, and never, paid her dues. Even then, I’m NOT sure Her Majesty would have been as generous as she was with Diana and Catherine for obvious reasons.
With her sticky fingers, its no wonder the Queen restricted MMs access to the jewellery!! Its centeries old and historically significant, strangely disappearing would be embarrassing!!
When you are showing pictures of the different tiaras and the women who have worn them, it struck me that Catherine's wedding tiara was much smaller than MM's. I'm sure she (C) didn't throw a tantrum over that. Also regarding tiaras, this was one of the points of contention with Angela Kelly when MM rocked up to the palace demanding the tiara for her 'hairdressing rehersal'. She honestly thought she could just take the tiara and waltz off to the hairdresser!
Catherine seems to be a very humble person. I imagine she chose the most low profile tiara of the ones she was told she could choose from, which happened to be the Halo scroll tiara and, in my opinion, suited her perfectly. Catherine has always seemed to understand that with great privilege comes great responsibility. She married William knowing she was signing up for a lifetime of service and duty to Great Britain and the Commonwealth nations. When their time comes they will be a fantastic King and Queen.
Catherine bought a £9 plastic tiara for her hairdresser to practice with. Quite the difference in attitudes!
@@qhluvr77I did not read/ hear this before! So practical.
A rehearsal with her hairdresser wouldn't have done any good. The messy bun she wore for her wedding could not have been improved by the tiara no matter how you figure it. Me-again always looks like an unmade bed and did so on her wedding day as well. She gives the impression that Americans are slobs. We aren't! only she is.
Could have fooled me. She had a hair dresser and it came out looking like that? Wow!
Good for the Queen if this is true. Although, I must say my favorite Meghan and the royal jewelry collection is the story behind Diana's most iconic piece of jewelry, that sapphire engagement which was actually handed down to Prince Harry for his future wife but he gave it to William for Kate out of a love for her, and a desire to see that ring on the future queen. Given Meg's creepy Diana obsession, you know she was eyeing that ring every time she was in Kate's presence!
The last that I heard, was that the ring was for Prince William.
I think William chose Diana's gold Cartier watch and Harry her engagement ring.
They swapped so William could propose with Diana's ring.
@@westzed23 According to Vanity Fair in september 2021, the two brother made an exchange. William had the Cartier Tank Française Watch and Harry the Saphire ring. But because William got married first and because Harry like very much Kate, he offer the ring in exchange for the watch.
The boys were allowed to choose from Diana's jewellery, Harry picked the ring..later he swapped it for the watch, as he thought a lot of Catherine (back before his mind was poisoned by MM) and thought William should propose to her with it. Back in the good days when they all got on, brothers were family and MM wasn't poisoning everyone!!!
And you could tell in that engagement interview with the BBC, she despised it! And it took her no time at all to change it! That should have been a HUGE wake up call to Hazmat. But because he’s such a Thicko, he didn’t give it any thought.
The crazy thing is that at first Cate didn't want to wear a tiara but had to be talked into it by Camilla and was given three to choose from, and she chose the smallest one. If that is true, that tells you a lot about Catherine. My favorite is the sapphire bandeau which hasn't been seen in decades.
The slide with all the queens wearing the Lovers Knot tiara was stunning!
Beebs I am not surprised at this after some of her demands, such as her wedding tiara be available when her hairdresser was. Catherine practised her hair with a cheap plastic tiara before her wedding - bad manners...
And what a fantastic job that hairdresser did at the wedding, eh? 😂😂😂
She look she had been dragged through a bush backwards!
Greetings from the UK. I think loaning her anything would be a bad idea, be it a lip gloss or a pair of shoes let's face it the likelihood of getting it back is low. Getting a tiara back; zero! Just my opinion.
Yeah, no way on the lipgloss unless you’re wanting to have some sort of herpetic lesion on your lips!
The Queen was one sharp lady!❤
Don't let Megan ever go to England again.
Catherine did not have immediate access to the lover's knot tiara, she worked up to it. I think her first state dinner she wore lotus blossom. HMTQ knew that anything loaned out to TW would probably be "lost". Not trustworthy.
She may have even if she didn't wear it immediately. Camilla was immediately given a lifetime loan of the Greville and Boucheron tiaras so associated with Queen Elizabeth TQM, so I don't think temporary access to a tiara similarly associated with William's mother would have been a stretch even early on.
I don’t understand why you don’t have 100k subscribers, your videos are always so informative and gently entertaining. This one like your others was fabulous! Thank you!
CZcams does this weird crap! It’s infuriating. Beebs, you are the best! ❤️
This was a great video. So informative. I'd love to see more like this.
As you said, Beebs, Katherine is allowed to wear certain pieces of jewelry because she is going to be QUEEN some day.
No matter how hard she schemed, Meghan was going to remain a DUCHESS until her ears fell off.
She’s so tacky and classless.
Catherine.
@@lindamorris4542 Oops! I had been reading about the six wives of Henry VIII and got stuck in the 16th century!
There are allegations that jewellery had gone missing, not sure veracity, but this is possible.
I’ve seen a video that has compared pictures of Diana wearing her jewelry against pictures of Meghan wearing the same items. They look different. They also rumored that after Tiara gate the Queen had a replica of Meghan’s wedding day tiara made. The replica showed rainbows reflecting in the stones which is not a mark of true diamonds. It looked pretty compelling.
The only crown nutmeg might ever get or deserve is the one from burger king or from her dentist
She's a legend in her own mind and thinks she's all that.....hello, not!!!
To your point about being new, in regular jobs, there is a probabtionary period which can be up to 6 months with an option to extend if there are questions about performance or an understanding of work culture. Civil servants, even low level Admin Assistants undergo rigorous security checks and long probabtionary periods before they enjoy the prestige of such a position. She failed to understand that her job was really just a somewhat overdressed civil servant🙄. ❤🇬🇧
I'm pretty sure, on Suits, she spent the most amount of time with the least amount of clothes on😊
The Emerald Tiara is valued higher than the diamond one. That's why she wanted it. I don't think she understands that she doesn't own them just cause wears them.
You are right. She thought wearing denoted ownership. There was also the story that she wanted one of the large stones from the emerald tiara made into a ring, and also the story about the diamond bracelet that got 'lost'. She was not to be trusted with any of the Royal jewels.
I heard at the time that mm was planning to use emerald green as her signature color - several of her outfits at the time were deep green like the one on the cover of Finding Freebies. She may also have wanted the very formal crown with all the emeralds that is only worn by the queen on very formal state occasions.
@@LynetteMcGrath I forgot about the ring, I do remember that.
Since allegedly M has refused to return items as she claimed they were now hers and had "lost" at least one diamond bracelet that was loaned to her, it is understandable that only certain items would be available as well as the internal ranking and the type of event attending. IMO
I'm an American and didn't realize rules and protocols existed around the wearing of jewels/tiaras.
Until M started all her drama around not getting to wear what she demanded.
So thanks M for opening the door to my education? Never expected that.
Anyway, while the rules may have seemed pointless to M, she chose that life. The new kid doesn't get to just show up and demand a change to the rules.
And some of the rules even make sense to me as an American. More than a few tiaras have.... complicated political histories. It's important to be sensitive to that.
I am an American is an excuse or free pass for not having manner and common sense?
The jewellery and tiara belongs to the monarchy and late queen. Any feminist or woman would have pride not to ask for other people’s belongings.
It’s a different matter when they are offered or gifted. Does all Americans start with I am an American then forget about history lessons and common sense…
I’m sure MM would have made this point about race, if not for the fact that people would not have believed that. As you said, people would have heard this story & thought it made perfect sense that MM wasn’t given full access to the Royal Collection, as she was very new to the family. You are so right about these pieces having meaning and history, relevance, and there must be appropriateness when they are worn. Sadly, I think MM only sees monetary value; the other things don’t matter to her. And I bet this absolutely has a role in MMs resentment of Catherine, who not only likely had to wait to have full access but she also had to wait YEARS for her engagement to William. MM was engaged to Harry in like 13 months.
A narcissist always hits the fast forward button. I have no doubt she will have said "if you want children we had better hurry up." Then pulling the depression card, along with the yawn fest race card to get him away from his family. Despicable woman.
The problem Mega Markdown had was that because she was given the title of Duchess, she seemed to think that it put her on and even footing with Catherine, so she should automatically have the same privileges and entitlements that Catherine had worked for for years. She also insisted that she and Hank marry before Eugene and Jack because they were more important, even though E & J had already booked and arranged their wedding. The issue with the tiara that caused Markdowns tantrum was that the late Queen had already promised the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik tiara to Eugene and would not allow M to have it. Allegedly M told H that she wanted the central Emerald from that tiara as a ring and insisted that he should be able to get it for her. That is rumour but it certainly sounds like something she would demand.
I did hear a rumor that before the wedding happened the wife had already made a decision that she was going to make emeralds her "signature" gem and when denied an emerald tiara by the Queen she had a fit. Sheshould have been grateful that the owner of the tiaras, The Queen, didn't refuse to allow her to wear a tiar in the first place. Usually when a grown woman throws a tantrum at not being given her way by a virtual stranger who was trying to be kind thegrown woman gets told "I offered. You refused my offer, so you are on your own. I won't be giving you anything. "
If she waited she would have found out didn’t Harry tell her any thing??
I wouldn’t trust Megain with costume jewellery from a thrift shop.
Meghan would totally never give them back
Did they get it back?
It didnt help that Rachael borrowed a pair of earrings from the Royal Collection and said she (conveniently) lost one of the earrings.
You’re completely right! This limitations to nutmeg is another reason I’m happy nutmeg isn’t near the jewels any more!!
I'm sure it burns Meghan's hinny to watch Catherine wear Diana's jewelry, seeing she thinks of herself as so like Diana ❣️
Catherine has some.of Diana's personal pieces, but the pieces loaned from the Queen belonged to the Crown and were not Diana's even if she might have worn them on occasion.
Any pieces on loan from the Queen were property of the Crown, not Diana's, but I'm sure it still sticks in her craw.
I would have been happy to wear any of the jewellery.
Great video! I feel a lot of people don't understand the "rules" for royal jewels, and this was very helpful. In my estimation, the queen was much freer when it came to sharing jewels with Diana and Sarah Ferguson than she is now. After the Wales and York divorces, the queen was more cautious. It seemed like it took forever for Sophie to be allowed to borrow some of the really nice pieces. The queen came to adore Sophie, and it really showed in the final years of the queen's life. Sophie got to borrow some fabulous pieces. But I think there were few outright gifts.
As future queen, Catherine was offered the chance to wear more jewels early on, but I think she wasn't comfortable with too much. Still, the queen's intentions were clear. Consider the Chinese state banquet in 2015. Catherine wore a tiara, earrings and two bracelets. No huge necklace or brooch. BUT, one of the bracelets was Philip's wedding present to the queen. I don't think she ever let anyone else wear it, but Catherine has now worn it several times.
As Beeb's noted, Meghan has worn some pieces that LOOK like Diana's personal property, but there is a question as to whether they are copies. The butterfly earrings M has worn are not the same shape as Diana's. And in some photos, the shape and color of her aquamarine ring look different as well. Perhaps Charles or the queen had near-copies made? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
More than likely considering
I’ve read elsewhere that it was Her Majesty, after there was supposedly an earring “lost”.
.....wasn't Sophie a "favorite of HMTQ?" Of course she was ALSO P. Edward's wife (Edward being her most "favored" son - allegedly of course).
I would think they have had paste jewels made of several pieces. Just for security alone.
@@enkisdaughter4795 it seemed anytime Meghan was around things went missing. First the bracelet, then an earring. Can't blame the Queen for not lending to her.
Thank you for showing all these beautiful jewels on these beautiful women. Historic photos are so interesting and enjoyable to see.
The article repeated details about M wearing some of Diana’s jewelry. I’ve watched highly credible videos that showed that both the butterfly earring/necklace set and the gold Cartier tennis bracelet were not the ones owned by Diana. The Cartier bracelet was M’s. She had bought it for herself as a gift for, I believe, landing the role on Suits. The butterfly pieces were compared in close up to photos of Diana wearing her butterfly set. There are slight, but significant, differences between the two versions. I sense that William clamped down on M wearing his mother’s jewels.
I've seen several videos about the jewels. Some of them had comments that helped understand repairs and duplicates made. Moissanite was used in the duplicates. It looks like diamonds. I think the most informative video I saw was by Celt. Also, it was alleged M took a diamond bracelet William had given to Catherine.
@@pamspurgers3578 Wow! Thanks for those tidbits. I hadn’t heard about the diamond bracelet but it rings true.
I might be wrong but I think Catherine wore the lovers knot tiara for the first time in 2015. That's 4 years into her marriage. Everyone forgets that Catherine didn't have carte blanche access to the collection and seems to have respected that.
Catherine wore a tiara other than her wedding day for the first time in 2013 for a state dinner.
At the end of the day tiaras are only worn at white tie events in the UK. Hence the reason they are not always worn, I notice Harry was wearing a black tie to the event in Fiji (however i don't know ehat the protocol is for Fiji).
Everything in your video was so clear and concise. It absolutely makes sense that Meghan wouldn’t have been allowed to wear these jewels at first. She may have got to if she stayed more than 2 minutes and was a bit more humble and gracious at what she WAS given to wear! I’d be ecstatic to wear the tiara she wore to her wedding. I actually like it more than the tiny one Princess Catherine got to wear for her wedding. The photo collections you put together in this episode must have taken some serious time. I really enjoyed some of those tiaras I’d never really seen before! Bravo!! ♥️Jessica
Meg's tiara was fake maybe it was bigger than Catherine 's but Catherine 's was DIAMONDS and Meg's was GLASS!!🎉
@@carolray9156 So true!! The Royals didn’t trust Meghan for a second. Allegedly, as I’m not an expert, you can tell Meghan’s is fake as it throws rainbow sparkles, where really diamonds throw clear or white sparkles.
Queen Elizabeth II knew who and what Meghan was all about!
If I'd married into such an important family, I'd be happy if they handed me a tiara from Walmart!
If Harry had married someone as humble and respectful as you, he and we would all be a lot happier right now. And I suspect QEll would have fixed you up with something a bit nicer.
@9mins.
A HUGE factor to taking ANY jewellry OUT of the Country IS......SAFETY AND SECURITY!
The AMOUNT of SECURITY to take jewels abroad !!!!!!
What a headache it must be.
In THAT situation, when they had the Yatch, it would have been possible for jewels to be kept under guard with more ease of kind, rather than planes, trains, automobiles, hotels, embassies, etc........
Hi Beebs ❣️ thank you ❣️ I'm not surprised that some of the "Family Jewels" are reserved for only those in direct line to the throne. I'm sure the Queen had Meghan's number early on, she didn't suffer fools lightly ❣️
Hi Dawn! Thank you! 💛💛💛
I'm looking forward to Angela Kelly's book about these events if she decides to spill...
No grand Tiara could make Messy Meg royal. She is a complete disgrace. The Queen was wise not to give in to HARRY SAYING WHATEVER MEGHAN WANTS SHE GETS.. Don't let the golden coach door hit you on your way out! I love your take on everything and really enjoy your fashion commentaries. I'm learning a lot. Thanks
Girl ain’t no Disney princess.. She’s every Disney villain! (cue purple lightning, waves tearing down the cliffs, bird nests being cast to the forest floor, maniacal laughter….)
Lady C, a few years ago, explained the Royal Jewels set up. Strictly speaking they are not the Queen’s jewels, the Royal Collection is owned by the State and the Monarch isCurator. Usually major pieces such as tiaras are “loaned” on a permanent basis - but cannot be left to anyone specific in a will, but go back to the Collection. Makes sense as some of the pieces may have to be slightly reshaped to fit the wearer. Those pieces not on display are kept in a vauult and need notice to be withdrawn - hence the “tiaragate” row before the wedding when Meghan decided that she wanted the wedding tiara, at no notice and immediately, for her hairdresser to rehearse the wedding hairstyle.
There are personal jewels owned by the queen and the Windsor family then there are the state jewels which come down from royals hundreds of years ago. You must remember that there were several different lineages of the royal family over the centuries. One king was executed, Cromwell sold off all the royal jewels and artwork. When Cromwell was removed, the new king had to buy, or beg to get the items returned.
Seeing the use of these jewels as a privilege makes so much sense. It’s not like Catherine is able to use them as she decides now either. It has to do with what is appropriate. Had she for example tried to wear some priceless tiara for her private birthday party with friends, that would not be okay either and her privilege would have been made stricter. Not that I believe that the Princess of Wales would do such a thing either.
But Me-again surely would have.
@@samanthafordyce5795 Indeed she would have!
Wasn't there a story of MM borrowing a piece of jewelry and "losing" it? A bracelet or earrings? Also, am I correct is saying an expensive gift to a member of the RF such as those diamond earrings MM wore may have been a wedding gift to MM but really belong to England or somethng like that. If MM kept the earrings after Megxit, the RF doesn't want to make a fuss and let her keep them.
There's been a few stories .
I think the bracelet that was allegedly lost was loaned from the Queen.
Then items of Catherine's jewellery allegedly went missing after a Harkle visit.
The yellow diamond drop earrings were from a Saudi Prince, can't remember his name, but he was the one who allegedly ordered the death of the Arab reporter, Khashoggi.
He was killed and dismembered by the Princes security forces.
Harkle lied twice about their provenance after being seen wearing them.
Of course once busted it wasn't her fault you understand 🙄.
So the BRF probably decided not to make a fuss if she took them.
It's not as if she can wear them again in their current design without taking some serious flack.
Yes, I’d heard that some of Diana’s jewelry had been “lost” and that personal jewelry of family members went missing. These are rumors of course.
I think the diamond earrings she wore on the wedding day were a gift from the Queen so are hers to keep. The blood diamond earrings she was told not to wear but of course nobody tells madam what to do. She was loaned a £100k diamond bracelet from the Queen which she conveniently ‘lost’🙄
The Queen before she pasted barred The Fraud and her daughter from getting any of her jewelry!!! That says alot right there. She never approved that name- the daughter will only ever be called Lily from me and, that's all. Take care and have fun!!! 😎😄😎
I prefer 'Betty'. 😂
It is not the child's fault, though I too will refer to her as Lili. Forget about the title of Princess. The child is an American. We do not have titles in America.
The RF is lucky she left.
Love the late Queen Elizabeth II! ❤ She suspected that Harry’s wife would “keep” some of the royal jewels and imo that’s why the Queen didn’t give Harry’s wife full access to the jewel collection.
Meghan "lost" some borrowed jewelry from the Queen.
Smh. Figures 😄
She also supposedly lost a diamond bracelet of Catherine. Maybe a good ideal to check the local paun shops
Lost??? Hmmm!
Just like the pair of designer shoes that went missing from a photoshoot that Megaliar did?? She later wore them at an interview..THE AUDACITY
@@pain-killeryates5448 She wore them in the Riedman's commercial and she wore them at the that outdoor engagement picture shoot where she was wearing the sloppy white overcoat.🤣

With Meghan's tendency to keep (steal) items, it is hardly surprising the king was concerned.
The traitor was reported to have sticky palms and now we know why she was disrespectful to our late Beloved Queen, for discovering her behavior.
