Personally, I think this is a thing of beauty. The organic feel of canvas , the waxy and dried oil protection. Simplicity at it's best. I like that you waxed/oiled first and then stitched. Have you got a pattern to share perhaps? Thanks for the video.
Thanks, Tony. You're too kind! I'll gladly post the measurements. If I were to do it again, I'd want a much tighter weave in the canvas and I'd maybe add a liner on the inside. It's fun, though! Thanks for the comment.
Appreciate very much your kind words. I love working with beeswax and making utilitarian projects. I'll get some measurements together for a pattern, gladly. Cheers!
True. In fact i went back and added some linseed oil to the wax mixture. hopefully it will add some plasticity. Also, the canvas I used is not a fine weave and so I could improve. However, I filled the bag up with water and the bag held it in pretty good-such that if you used it for a lunch bag it might work to hold in a spill or whatever. Thanks for the comment!
Hi Danielle, I added some mineral spirits, but I wouldn’t do that again because it’s not food safe. I’ve heard that a better option would be flax seed oil. I’m going to try again with a new recipe in the spring. good luck!

The filming and editing on this video is just superb. Tells the DIY story in an artistic way
Thank you so much!
I love it!

I've read in old fiction etc about "oil cloth" I think it was something similar, canvas treated with linseed oil maybe?
