- This video contains my thoughts and experiences of the Gripone Iside2 when fitted to my GSXR1000 K5. Is there a place for retro-fit electronics on pre electronics motorcycles?

Thanks for your honesty I was wondering if these units actually work and are worth the money 👊🏽
Hey thanks for commenting. Look, for 99% of the time they are great. The anti wheelie justifies the price. It’s so so good. At the end of the day, GP riders still highside with the worlds best and most expensive electronics so nothing is ever 100%. I just wish mine would have saved me. Would I buy again….. not sure.
Brilliant, thx for the review. Not a lot of info out there. I want to install one on my '09 R1 for the wheelie control as much as anything else. Glad to hear that seems to work well. Is the wheelie control and TV independently adjusted?
Not on the fly mate but can be done via the laptop. Hope that helps :)
What level did you have TC on? I have the older version (Leone). My version could except an optional data acquisition module that allows me to later analyze how much and how often the TC and WC were intervening during a session. Really helps when it comes to fine tuning the settings.
Hey :) I had it set on number 5 which was the max. I don’t think the data module was a thing on the iside 2 or at least I never seen it because that would have been excellent. Plugged in via laptop there was so much fine tuning you could do but I only ever had how it felt with no raw data.
Sounds like gripone missed off an important or at least very useful feature with the iside2. Thanks again for the comment. :)
That’s a shame that they took away that option. I’ve never lost the rear on lvl 5 with the default TC, but I know the values don’t directly translate to the newer system. For example, my TC map is set to 16 out of a max of 20. With that setting I have lost the rear only on lvl 4 or 3. The data showed that there was quite a large difference in slip threshold between levels, so I reduced the step setting. You may want to increase the TC in the map so that lvl 5 is more intrusive while also reducing the step so that each lvl down will result in smaller reductions in TC. Thereby allowing finer adjustment via the buttons while on track.
Makes perfect sense what your saying. Unfortunately however my bike was totally destroyed. Snapped frame, bent everything. I sold the engine and the rest was crushed. Such a shame :(
@@rideronabudget76sorry to hear that. Hopefully you’ll be able to transfer it to the next bike if it doesn’t already have rider aids. Just for context, the bike I’m using it on is a 08 Fireblade. My crashes were on Dunlop Q4 190/55. Afterwards, I also switched to Michelin Power Slick 2s 200/55 for the past two seasons and haven’t had a single slip since, even though the TC is still doing it’s thing mid corner and my speed has increased. Best of luck to you!
Hello mate. Hope you are well.
What size tyres did you run on your track bike?
Hey. I ran a 200/55 mostly but the last day I rode it I had on a 190/55. Hope this helps cheers.
@@rideronabudget76Awesome cheers
