I love it when people can't tell cheap material from expensive ones. Just proves that you don't have to spend $500 on fucking accessories.
I used to dress up in branded goods when going out clubbing or to bars with friends but what made me stop was I wore some cheap jeans, t-shirt and jumper that I bought from the supermarket to my mates one day as we were just chilling and everyone gave compliments on what I was wearing.... I never got them when wearing branded stuff so then I realised why waste my money on stuff people can't tell the difference to anyway.
The difference is minuscule in many products. A cotton tshirt from Prada isn’t going to be 60x better quality than one from Hanes. There’s only so much you can do. Generally you are paying for unique style and exclusivity.
I once bought a pair of cargo shorts by Kenneth Cole Reaction that were allegedly $90 originally for $30 at Marshalls. Honestly, I didn't think the quality was all that great, and found that the $20 Wrangler cargo shorts from Target seemed much better quality.

Right
Just goes to show how many ppl are materialistic and stuck on something being name brand, since they all loved the shoes when they thought were designer footwear. Even the quality of the shoe was considered great by one guy , Im sure that all changed once they were told it was Payless because someone who would pay hundreds to thousands of dollars for shoes will likely nvr shop at Payless. What they shouldve done was do this exact same prank & refund these ppl their money. But instead of letting them keep shoes that they will more than likely throw in the trash & nvr wear, donate the shoes to homeless shelters or give them to ppl who cant afford even a $10 pair of shoes instead of giving them for free to someone who could afford to buy whatever they desire.
@Melody tR Exactly

Reminds me how Champion has made a comeback and charge same as Adidas or Nike lol
🤦🏻♂️
The coolest think about champion is that they do different tiers of quality though. They have a warehouse that makes the cheap stuff you'll see at Walmart, Kmart, or Rue 21. Then they have medium tiers, which you'll see at Zumiez, Champs, or Footlocker. And their 3rd tier is primarily sold on their website. All the fabrics are actually made of another thread count, are higher quality material. I think that's something they definitely did very well. (Plus u can buy Adidas and Nike at Walmart too)
(I really dislike Champion, but they definitely played it smart, and they're a pretty cool company, I got a free reverse weave hoodie from them so I can't complain too much 😂 definitely a weird comeback.)

I just don't understand how a connoisseur of fashion would not recognize the level of craftsmanship in a high end shoe. Believe me if you know quality you can easily pick out high end and low end products whether you are shopping at Marshall's or Saks Fitfh Avenue.
Yeah, that was my issue. There’s no way experts in fashion can’t tell the difference
Plenty of people purport to be experts. Whole bunch of ppl were exposed right there.
hazelfreckle oh please! there’s not that darn much of a distinction. Maybe when you get into certain materials, like alligator, snakeskin, lambskin, wool, cashmere, silk, genuine leather, etc. then yes, quality can be assessed. But just regular old material? You could find the same article of clothing in H & M that you might find in Barneys with a different label and a much higher price tag.
You probably wouldn’t wanna talk shit about a “high end” designer on camera esp if you were an influencer js
I think it's because these people were so called "influencers" with their Instagram accounts with a lot of followers. Lots of posers out there. that made me think.. Its so damn true!
I have known several young women over the years who wanted to become fashion designers... I told them to start designing and save up money to cover rent in a small shop in a certain trendy area and charge a thousand bucks average for their designs... and get social... one took me seriously... I don’t know if she made anything happen for herself but it’s always cool to inspire an aha moment in someone like that
Just goes to show, fashion brands just cause it is expensive does not mean it uses super premium materials. They just sells it better. It cost no less than any other products which are cheaper. Unless it is hand made 1 by 1 and not from a factory, it is still given to a factory that charges the lowest price.
This is so hilarious omg
Sea Rasp check out my reaction to this
I wouldnt have refunded there money, that's what those Rich Fasion snobs get.
Once I was wearing shoes from Payless, friends asked me about it , when I said from Payless they were totally shocked,, as I bought it from other planet
I bought pair of leather boots with quite solid price but still nothing too costly or expensive. The brand is an unheard local brand and it was an average shoe shop but nice and neat. The shopkeeper is a moderate, humble uncle in tshirt with no extra polish on his presentation but the information on shoes and materials he shared with us was massive. At the end of the day, I knew I was paying for quality in fact I was lucky for the price I got on the shoes since the discount for purchasing it with another pair. I never go on branded stores except for SALE, in which I pick my material, design and practicality, as well as make it clear beforehand to store assistants what is my budget range. The assistants, on the other hand, need to present professionalism and good customer service, as doesn't matter a high-end store, I won't spend a second longer, rather would leave without any purchase whenever shop assistants dare to display arrogance to put prospect customers down only because they don't dress like a celebrity.
This is amazing. They probably bought tickets to Fyre Festival in 2017 too.

It was really smart on Payless. I’ve seen shoes at payless that are really nice looking and well made others not so much, I just try to be discerning. Same goes with higher end stuff some are really poorly made and not worth it.

People just don't get it. Been working in retail for 2 and a half years and for the most part you pay for quality. Example
For the brand Cole Haan. I noticed 3 variations.
1) made with high quality leather with nailed in sole made of leather. The stitching it well done and typically priced for over $120.
2) the same identical shoe but made with cheaper leather with a glued rubber sole, it will still last a while tho and usually are priced at $50 - $90
3) the cheap shit ross and marshalls sell. Feels horrible to the touch and seems like it will fall apart if worn to much.
it depends on what you are buying, if you are buying a Gucci suit its quality fabric and impeccable tailoring. If you are buying their "luxury" shit that says "Gucci" all over it, then its crap, and they know people will buy it to show off.
