I binge watched your videos over the summer, and the Boesemani Rainbow Fish were always one of my fav types
Great job showing some hands on action with your rainbow fish.
These guys are really satisfying to breed. We had a group of ~12 and they'd spawn on mops, eggs almost daily 8-10 eggs. Then you could just keep collecting the mops and putting them into hatch.
Nick love your breeding videos. I have one request. It would be more fun to see the breeding process from start to finish. Like how you had shown us earlier with neon tetras and others.
Agree. Full breeding process should be more fun to watch. But it's reasonable to cut off a little bit if the starting processes are similar.
Awesome video! I really enjoy when you show the way you breed your fish. Nice to see how someone else breeds their fish.
Love your breeding videos make a playlist with all of them
That will be a playlist for relaxing for sure.
Love your videos. Always look forward to seeing them!
Excellent video your videos keep getting better and better thanks for taking out the time to make such informative videos 😊
Fantastic tutorial, Nick. Thank you!
Thanks for the video. I wish I have some of rainbow fish in my country. They are so beautiful.
Looking good seeing this all the way from Jamaica
I just ordered four ornate rainbow fish here in Singapore. Thanks for this.
Wow had no idea it could be this straightforward. Definitely on my list to breed!
Thank you! Your videos are really inspiring and simple, just like advertised, lol. I just bred my Murray River rainbows (almost 5yrs old) and had 4 babies hatch this morning. There's a few more eggs to go but not too bad. Next to try my turquoise rainbows!
Great video thank you, beautiful fish. I enjoy all your videos but love to learn about the breeding. I will probably never breed any, but it is so interesting. Thank you again-
I just got some Australian rainbows that I’m excited to try to breed, thanks for the video!
Cracking video, more breeding VLOGs would be hugely appreciated.
Awesome video! I learned a lot!
every time i go to the pet store, i always go by the bosemani tank because they're so fun to watch, especially how the follow you fingers so closely. i don't have room for them now, but they're one of my dream fish
Great video full of awesome information.
I have just had babies! Never expected it just got a heavily planted tank and let them get on with it . . . Wow.
I found your site accidentally. Recently swatches your Beta and Neon videos then found this video. Just wanted to say, I have all these fish in my tanks of 40 years of fish keeping and your info is awesome! Thank you for the great info! Lol, wanted to add that my Paradox school is one of my favs. 😊
Preacox. Word correct kills me.
I'm so glad how far you got☆
Nice one Nick! Certainly wanna give my cousin's boesmanis a go at breeding at some point! Great video to refer to 👍
Now ya just need a year to grow them out! 😜
Pain
Patience is the name of the game.
😂
@@bogreen4805 yeah for sure, truth be told if he puts them outdoors in a large tub it could be a few months. My Parva fry had big gains summer tubbing
Auto feeder prem dried food! And live food 8 times a week. ! I rather have 500 fish for 1 year then 30 fish for 3 months
Those boesemani rainbows are so beautiful!!
I am truly happy for you enjoying this hobby. I am older now but distinctly remember when rainbows were available in the US. I remember when the Neons first were available. They looked like a custom Corvette paint job ! My question for you if you know is how come the Cato River rainbows haven't made it here until just recently. The ones I have show the blues and purples in their fins. The first pic I ever seen were of fish with yellow in the fins? Thanks and enjoy your endeavors.
Thank you! I had to look up Boesemani Rainbowfish never heard of it
Could you make update videos of the batches of babies. I would love to watch them grow up and maybe have babies of their own. ❤
Great vid Nick
I see them all the time at Murray river
Very good content I recently found your channel, I have a channel in Spanish dedicated to fish and reptiles... I find it hard to understand the videos but just by watching they are understood! Greetings crack 🏴 ☠️ #sergioexotics
Good tip with the egg yolk. Will try it
Really enjoyed the video! I've been curious about how the bettas are coming along? It's been a while since a update, thanks!
Wow! Those fry are super itty bitty.
I'd suggest getting some Congo Tetras and Buenos Aires tetras. I just got my first three congo tetras a few days ago and they were only about 3/4s of an inch long and they are already over an inch now and already are getting beautiful colors on them. Our Buenos Aires tetras we've had over a year now and they're over 3 inches long and really cool fish. I love how all our tetras school together no matter what type they are.. except the neons, they mostly just stick to the bottom of the tank until feeding time.
Just bought Java Fern for my Neo tano but it unexpectedly had rainbowfish spawn on them, and now they hatched. This video is helping me a lot to try to raise them
I always look forward to your uploads…..
They where named after the Dutch ichthyologist Marinus Boeseman. Oe in Dutch is pronounced as Oo (Boo) and the follwing e as a short uh. So it would phonetically be Boosuhmani.
Is the mani part pronounced man-ee or man-eye?
@@jueadeo8843 as man-ee Boosuhmahnee the suh part is very short.
“So big u can fillet em!” -things aussies say😂🥰😉
Thanks bro ❤
Great information you make it look easy thanks for sharing 💯👍🙂 by the way when do you start your water changing and how thanks 👍
Very nice!
awesome. thx
Love the vids
THANK YOU VERY MUCH .. ÇOK TEŞEKKÜR EDERİM :)))
Bro I’m thinking of breeding my kamaka rainbows, great vid
I need to know why your rainbows don't jump out of the bucket?!🤣I've had mine jump two feet out of deep barrels.Fascinated by these fish.I started with an old m.australis that I inherited two years ago. Now have 9 different species, currently breeding blehari, turqouise and affinis.Absolutely mesmerizing fish.I don't know why they aren't more popular in Canada(Ontario) where I live.
Probably something should be wrong in the tanks para or temp, just saying from my experience m8 :)
@@Exquatics nothing is jumping out of tanks
@@rythmjunky5292 ohh sorry XD, I misunderstood
@@Exquatics no worries! ✌
Great video as always. Just a quick question, would it not be easier to remove the spawning mops and place them in a new tank rather than the fish?
I have no experience with this, just trying to learn. Keep up the great videos!
That is exactly what I came here to ask
I think yes, you could do that, but moving the mop too much could displace the eggs out of the mop and into the water. If you moved the mop and kept the fish in the tank, the fish would eat the eggs that were displaced during the moving of the mop. Moving the fish is the better option to ensure all the eggs are left untouched and are not vulnerable to the fish!
You make a good point, Sarah. But aren’t rainbowfish eggs sticky and will most likely be “glued” to the mops? If there was loose eggs that weren’t on the spawning mop, I’m sure it would be an insignificant amount compare to the ones on the mop itself. Especially since he has multiple colonies going at the same time. Is the time it takes to catch and move the fish worth more than the few eggs that you may lose if you were to leave the fish in the same tank and to just retrieve the mops into a new tank?
You could even hatch out multiple mops of the same species in the same tank to save space.
I’m sure this catch and move method will work better for other species like corydoras where they will spawn literally everywhere around the tank and will take longer to collect the eggs than to catch the fish out.
With that said, both methods will work just fine. We’re all here to learn and to discover different methods of breeding these beautiful fish.
How often do you change water on the fry while giving egg yolk to them?
Cool keep it up🎉
Egg yolk is the way to go honestly been raising all kinds of fry with it
new sub here! a rainbowfanatic also! shoutout from 🇵🇭
Fantastic video again. Do you or anyone else here think you can breed neon tetra's like this?
Awesome video! I was just wondering, can you breed zebra danios to gold danios?
Hi Big Brother. I m from Fiji Islands. I m so interested. I want to buy some types of fish. If u can help how to go about it. I m very impressed with ur supervision and all around. GOD BLESS.
Awesome
Hi there buddy, would you happen to know how to raise freshwater bumblebee goby fry?
🌈
It's easier to use floating mops, and then just pull the mops and put them (the mops) into another tank rather than disturbing the breeders.
Sera Micron and Golden Pearls Fry Food works well also ✌🏻✌🏻
For years I thought they were mini salmon and I stand corrected.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why do you not take the mops out after the 10 days? Would that not be easier then moving the adults?
Hey mate, only new to the hobby, just wondering when your online store will be up? Cheers
Nice Maybe you can take a building light battery powerd so its easyer and you have more light. Maybe Some Nice fish are Some synodontis petricola and easy to keep with livebearers and with my understanding not hard to breed
I want those torquoise one
First thumbs up from Georgia USA 🤪
Apparently my bosemani decided they didn't care about the mops and used the ludwigia. They jumped the gun a bit, still being in a community tank so by the time I saw the fry I found 5. Got em moved though and seeing if they'll do alright.
Would you still consider the praecox a sensitive fish now that you've bred a generation in your own water?
Number of fish and male female ratio in tank, tank size and water change schedule would be helpful unless I missed something.
Thanx!
Do you use any filters or equipments to clean the water in baby fish tank?
I need help on the werneri rainbows. I’ve spent so much money on them and only put them in healthy aquascaped aquariums with micro organisms so they can eat whenever as well as feeding flake foods but they eventually all die off one by one. I’m staying away from them for now but those are my dream rainbows and I just wish I knew what was happening behind the scenes. I haven’t had fish death in years from after buying but these guys are tough for some reason. Send help please!!
I've had the same issues, where are you buying yours from?
Any video on how to breed silver dollar??
Do you ever get the crimson spotted rainbows?
Do you have a preferred ratio of male/female. And preferred water conditions?
How often do you change the water when feeding boiled egg?
yooooooooo ❤🔥🔥
Turquoise are amazing
sei uno dei pochi che svela i segreti di come allevare questi pesci grazzie mille
Can you make a new corydora breeding video/guide
Could you instead just put the mops into a growout tank to hatch, or will exposure to air mean you lose some or will moving the mops drop eggs?
Hi man I have question yo ask you if that ok so I have trying to breed my Betta but it not working I see your video on how to do it but it not working the fish do meet and I get eggs but the fish are eating them or just not bothering with I but the common leave in but it just not working do you have any advice for me please I hope you get this message but if not that ok and love your video they help me out so much thank you
What are their breeding maturity age?
Hi Nick, I am keen to buy some of these fry of yours - how do I purchase them?
Can you do a guppy version plssss
What's the temperature and PH has to be ?
I love rainbowfish but the kinds I want are just a bit too big to fit in my tank.
You show the mop and eggs and you get a closeup of an adult fish lol 6:02
How long does it take for them to get to a sellable age?
3:07 damn I wish I could do that
"Oh no, now I have 500 fish !"
Awesome video, what would you recommend as the minimum tank size, and a minimum shaol size 👍
lovely, my tank just crashed and i lost all my rainbowfish, fortunate for me i had over 50 fry!
Crashed?
👌👌
Can you tell me what temperature the water is please

Thanks for your videos. You preserve wildlife.
