Of course it can't take a 9 Volts battery and better yet, be powered by electric with rechargeable 9 volts backup. That just makes too much sense. But it is good that it detects both. Would be better if it detected fire, smoke, co 2, natural gas, propane, sewer gas. Does it have camera and microphone ? I should hope NOT. I do like that it has an application that is free, although, this stuff on phones and home networks are subject to being another entry point that hackers can exploit to get into your home network and computers.
