I love Snacks! This is my new weekly highlight!
I would never guess Sam is from the Boston area. She has such a Minnesota accent. But this makes me love her even more. And I was already dying laughing at the couch talk. Oh, I love you both! There is a real sadness when you leave the team, and move to the next step -- especially when you have existed on a team for so long. I mourned that loss for at least 10 years - and while you can go back and visit, and you can keep in touch, its just never the same. Its really hard to form bonds that even come close that later in life. When someone figures it out, let me know how to do it.
Right on, I felt the same way after giving up a national rugby team that I have played on for 12 years. The best thing we can do is go back to the game and help coach, officiate, support, and do whatever we can for our sport. There are lots of young women out there that need us!!
Rapinoe's comments on PK's are extra interesting post WC 2023. At least she was forthcoming (back when this was recorded) that she's aware she can miss ("...boot it god knows where") 😬 Certainly she, alone, did not lose the WC or is solely responsible for their failure to advance. I would never criticize or shame any athlete for missing a PK... seems incredibly nerve-wracking standing on that spot... for the games to be decided by that.

This was great would have like to hear from Pinoe how she thinks we stand up to competition and instill don't understand why in a WC yr despite NWSL schedule why there aren't more camps to practice
USSF can only schedule 22 matches due to the CBA.
The WC - up to 7 matches.
She Believes - 3 matches.
Victory/welcome home tour - 9 matches. (takes priority over preparation because USSF values ticket sales over winning a WC)
leaving only 3 other prep matches. (Wales, ireland 2x)
Bring Emily Fox & Alyssa Thompson 2 young players on so we get to know them!!!

I was an entrepreneur savant. 30 yo and Multiple small business endeavor made $$ moved to next opportunity. When I finally stayed with something and had 15 employees I realized...when I was at Boston University School of Business 1970 I probably should've gone to class more often. Business management is where I could have used a play book.
So as your business grows before you expand beyond small, have top notch advisors - associates to help manage decisions.
