Hello there
Why not lego shop PT? ☺️
e
Ooooooooooooo Tiago lucky :D
Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but I believe the set is also split up into 24 bags so that it can be built each day before Christmas like an advent calendar! I think they may mostly even be in chronological order so you can build along through the events of the film.
I wonder I'd they did it on purpose
@@suzifredenburg4267 I'm sure they did.
I got it for Christmas lol
then you need to wait until next december 1st to start building it
@@Qwweerrtyy same
The sledge not going through the door actually matches the real geography of the house because there's a cut inbetween Kevin going down the stairs and flying out and if you pay attention you can see that he would just crash into the wall like he does in the Lego set.
True! xD
Never noticed it
And i saw the it so many times when i was young
I thought that every time I watched it.🤣
Not cool
they even tried it on mythbusters i think? i remember someone bringing up that the stairs didn't line up but they wanted to have the scene so they just faked it
As to your final question, yes, I would definitely like to see Lego make some fully-walled houses, that aren't necessarily attached to any IPs, of this type of scale and detail.
Hope LEGO is taking notes!
Hugs creator town house
@@MrKlawUK I've got four of the small (two-story) creator houses and wish I could get some more. They're much better looking than anything I manage to put together! And they weren't very expensive or hard to find space for either.
Completely agree, I’ve made my own modular townhouses but I don’t have the inventory for interiors and they cost more than a set would
I don't know why they don't do it in the first place.
I initially thought that I'd pass on this, thinking it would be a set that would be small and light on details - but I am so wrong! This is now a definite buy for me... thanks for the review! This set exceeds my expectations by far!
@FSJF Games It's always sold out, but as soon as I can, I will!
@@undead.rising check in stores around you. Sold out online but I've found you can "check stores" online and there's some at a few stores around me.
@@julsey23ify be careful with relying on what the website says, often times the store’s inventory isn’t lined up with what the website says it has, so always call the store first!!!
I got home alone and titanic sets
@@Juliantxs glad you were able to get them lol
Wow, that red crystal door handle really made me nostalgically remember the old adventure sets with the mummies and stuff. That was when Lego peaked in my life!
Do you know why it is red? 😁
I dream about Lego Adventurer’s returning as a theme :’)
@@helicoptrio4723 ya its because in the movie he heats it up
Getting the "Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins" as one of my life goals
I still have Indiana Jones lego set with those diamonds
Tiago: "I've been avoiding the elephant in the room"
MJ: "and I took that personally"
I would DIE for an “A Christmas Story” set
Oh my goodness yes! A Lego leg lamp, the Bumpus hounds attacking a Lego Turkey, Randy’s hiding place in the kitchen, a pink bunny Lego mini figure, a Lego Look Magazine, a decorated Christmas living room with a light brick outlet that toggles the blue and green tree lights, and Lego presents including a can of Simoniz, a blue bowling ball, a zeppelin, socks, and Red Ryder BB gun.
They could even have additional add-on sets; their car that gets the flat tire, the school class with recess flag pole, Ralphie’s back yard with Black Bart and gang, the walk to school with bullies, the department store with Santa and slide, etc…
I would get all of that for real! 😃
Read my mind lol
There is one
Get BUSY!
*Finally, a lego shotgun*
Okay, the sheer amount of details in this set is absolutely impressive. I love how they captured all the memorable moments of the movie into this piece.
EDIT: My wife actually bought me the set as a wedding anniversary gift. She is absolutely insane and I love her for that. She really made me happy on that day. ❤
She sounds like a keeper for sure :)
omg cuteee
I'm more interested in the burglars and their van than the house. Who doesn't want a Joe Pesci action figure?
Exactly! Now there's one :P
@@TiagoCatarino and now that there's a Catherine O'Hara figure, maybe we could get a full Beetlejuice set to go with the Dimensions pack.
But does it come in a bad suit with a old school phone handset in his hand??
True but you'll have to imitate his voice yourself. I want the Tim Curry figure from episode two.
Watching this review I've realized I have been thinking my entire life that Home Alone 3 (the one about the RC car and the microchip) was Home Alone 1. Anyway, good review as always!
WHAT?!!! OMG go watch it right now! Such a classic :P
You poor thing... that movie was terrible!
@@undead.rising It wasn't that bad. You guys exaggerate way too much. Go watch Home Alone 4, 5 or maybe this year's new one and you'll be begging for 3
@@joevictor53 yeah, most likely
The story of 3 was awesome too like the first and second
Very impressed with the set and I love the opening to the interior of the house. I have been complaining (mostly in silence) of these open back built for years.
It pains me beyond words that the Orthanc tower was an open back build. I was never able to get my hands on it though either way.
One way to create a Home Alone Trap: *Scatter LEGO pieces everywhere*
Yesss... }:-)
lmao
5:19 I think the fact that the sleigh is mostly unable to go through the door isn't really a problem because it was the same case in real life when shooting the movie: the staircase wasn't aligned with the door, Kevin could only slide out the door from the staircase with the usage of filming tricks
I was waiting for the "Hello!" When Marv sticks his head through the cat door. The tarantula scene, plunks it on Marv's face, that scream he let's out....I die every time
I really love this build - day one purchase for me. As for the possibility of a line of larger, non-licensed house builds, I would be ecstatic if Lego started releasing those. They would make wonderful display pieces!
Love the inclusion of the Home Alone 2 turtle dove ornaments on the tree.
Right?! And the Dunkans Toy Chest Magazine! And the Empire State building!
Backstory is that they sprey painted birds and glued them to the tree
Great review. Thanks. And yes, I would certainly love more modular houses.
Right? LEGO needs to know!
Even just the Van would be nice to make/purchase, thank you for the review!
Right?!
I heard that they used 24 bags so that you could build it like an Advent. Calendar, one bag a day…..but who could do that?!?! Lol
Someone who doesn’t like legos
For cooperative holiday building, it’s actually pretty fun trading off every few steps while watching whatever movie/s the set relates to. My younger brother (17)and I (33) have been doing this for a few years. It works well with the larger sets where there might be redundant builds (1989 Batmobile, the UCS gunship, Mos Eisley Cantina). Usually whoever wasn’t building would help sort and pick out the parts needed for the next step. I imagine building the Titanic with a friend or relative would be great.
WOW, this was the BEST Lego review I have ever seen!!! Very clean, very efficient & too the point, yet shows you everything you want to know. Keep it up!
This Lego set is absolutely amazing. The attention to detail, working mechanisms, and the design itself is very impressive.
wow! incredible! i love the functions that were nicely added to the set. the details and eastereggs show how much love and dedication was put into the set by the designers.
This is the best house Lego set and tbh a top 15 lego set of all time based on price and detail.
I'd love to see a lego Home alone game.
This is gonna be my first Lego Ideas set for sure. I'm more one the Harry Potter side of things but it's impossible for me to miss this. It's also very clever that you get 24 bags of lego to hype yourself up each day 'til Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, culminating in the yearly re-watch on the evening of Dec 24th
This might be my first none harry potter buy in awhile also it looks awesome
I really like this one but I've been saving for the big Hogwarts set for a while and I think that one's better
@@dillpickle5616 i really dig all the winter village sets but it would be too expensive for me to collect them as well
@@francisbartoszewski2284 i have it and it's worth every penny, as long it's available in retail for a reasonable price
I was told it was originally planned as an "Advent Calendar" style build. 1 bag per day leading up till Xmas.
I LOVE that set! Four levels, accurate architectural detailing, etc
I think that would be a great idea to have more house sets like this to create and grow your own neighborhood or town. The look of this can go great with other modular buildings from the 18+/ideas sets and it also has its own look to be separated from the modular sets as well. Always look forward to new things, happy building!
Yes more modular sets would be awesome!!!!!!!!!!! And this set looks WONDERFUL!! This is a day on buy for my wife and I for sure! Great video as always!
Wow, this is a very well done set! I love all of the action items and easter eggs from the movie(s). Between the original Idea and the Lego team, they all really got the feel of things. Plus, it's a beautiful, fully realized house!
I own this House and it's absolutely stunning down to every fine detail! It brings back so many memories for me growing up. I remember when I first got the movie Home Alone for a Christmas gift from my Grandma and Grandma. They thought it was so funny and Home Alone was always my Grandma's favorite, being she said in Home Alone Two, you already knew what to expect that Kevin was going to play more tricks on the bad guys, Harry & Marv. Every year for Christmas we would watch it. I actually watch it all year round. I wish she was still alive to see this magnificent Lego set. She would have appreciated it and thought it was funny. At least I can still cherish the fond memories I had around the Holidays with my family and this house makes me feel as though those magical moments are being relived.
We NEED more houses like this!
I must buy this set! I LOVE home alone! And it will fit perfectly into my city!
Nobody's talking about the reference in the thumbnail; Kevin makes that exact same face in the movie. Nice touch.
That house is so cute! And you could add extra lego floor pieces to the dining room so the chairs stay up. The bed with the four posts was the most adorable piece of furniture, imo. I like the added tree house too.
That’s really cool! My only wish: that they had found a way to make the train go around an oval pattern (maybe attach it to a chain below the floor?), so that we could get 1x4 tiles printed the same way. That would unlock more possibilities for those tracks.
Yes, yes, I can finally see it, looks amazing! I love it 😍 I will buy it instantly upon release, it will be great in my city street display
WOW. I grew up w this movie, but tbh I wasn’t extra excited about the set- but the amount of details, Easter eggs, and functions really brought me back to watching it when it first came out- you did an amazing job pointing things out, this review is one of the best! The second I saw the transparent 2x2 brick in Kevin’s brother’s room- I immediately thought “omg where’s the tarantula?!” And then there it was, on the stairs. Lol.
Thank you as always, your videos never disappoint! And yes, I’d definitely build a neighborhood- but I’m pretty sure I can’t afford to build one at $300 per house lol! This is a no brainer, but I’m def going to need to wait & budget for it.
Thanks again!
OMG! that is one detailed model! Finally LEGO gets into detailing! I love it! something to save for! Thank You Tiago!
Really cool set. The attention to detail is excellent. The sled not going through the door is actually awesome. That scene always bugs me a little because the staircase does not lineup with the front door. Not sure if the designers did this intentionally, but i am going to believe they did... just because haha
WOW ,now that's a fantastic set AND the house, I can already see it being used as a normal 1980's style house in lego cities
But it's not thenpoint. And besides, it has a winter theme
The house was built in the 1920s lol
The first two movies were my fav Christmas movies growing up I saw this set and fell in love but there is no way I'll be able to afford it it's so expensive omg. It looks like such a fun build, the details are so cool, and I love the way its a closed building with hinged walls instead of an open back
This is so amazing! My wife is a huge fan of the 2 original Home Alone films and this is no exception! She’ll love to build this and have it in our Lego collection. Now we just need to find one that’s available. 😮
I love your content Tiago! So creative and hope to see you release some custom sets one day. Sending love from Australia 🇦🇺
Well, I designed some LEGO sets while working for LEGO so I'm good ahah :) but what do you mean by custom sets?
@@TiagoCatarino I love your gingerbread house! And as for custom sets, you could sell presourced brick packs of your tutorial builds such as mini build polybags or your own line of Lego sets. Your subscribers could even enter box design competitions for a free copy of your set! What do you think?
This set is absolutely INCREDIBLE for the price. Like, when I first saw this set, I seriously expected it to easily be $400+, so the $250 price tag is amazing and actually a feasible purchase for me. All of the little easter eggs like the pizza boxes, the trashcan with Kevin's ticket inside, all of the booby traps being represented, etc. are absolutely perfect. To top it all off, the house isn't just a front facade with an open back, it is a full-blown house with endless details. Can't wait to get my hands on one of these. I will DEF be buying one as soon as they drop. They hit it out of the park with this one, so I have to say, well done, Lego. Well done.
The details were outstanding omg....
Yes please LEGO! More modular style houses!
Jesus I never even knew that this set existed, I’m definitely buying this
That's because it isn't released yet ;)
It will be available for purchase on November 1st !
oh man that would be a brilliant set, although the only place I can think to put it during Christmas is where my nativity scene goes...
Nativity Scene takes the priority I would say, since it's more about Christmas than the Home Alone films haha
@@RichyRichGoldChannel Nativity definitely doesn't take the priority in my house for Christmas haha
Since I'm not christian at all.
@@WolfanTerror That’s a shame.
@@WolfanTerror why would you have a nativity scene then?
@@PixelZan I don't lol, I never said I did
Love this set and the nods to the movies it contains! Such a cool little set. I’d love Lego to make more sets like this to make a neighbourhood.
These movies were my childhood favorites. Still love the movies to this day. The set looks really awesome 👌 👏
Woah Woah, What is that masterpiece!
Well it's no Titanic, but cool nevertheless :P
@@TiagoCatarino The Titanic set is clearly the best overall, but for those of us who mostly buy sets to go in our Lego City and for playability value, this Home Alone set is way up there for sure.
@@TiagoCatarino Yeah, the minifigs are great, they need to make this set an expert set.
Do you think this will sell out and then go up or stay at value? I want to get it but not have it for a long time. Thoughts?
I would be very interested in more houses. Buildings are my favorite builds.
I like the doll house style opening, but agree when open a few details on the doors would be nice. Maybe a part of the furniture that you can play with from above, but is out of the way with the doors open.
The Diagon Alley Lego set does split the booklet's up into 4, for each section & you can chose to join them or keep them separately. It's good they give those choices with expensive sets as they would have to be shared in most families.
Man I loved watching the first 2 Home Alones! I'm happy they made a Lego set based on the original movie. Also I'm not over 30 even, I'm 16, and I adored the Movie! And still do today.
Let's just not talk about anything past Home Alone 2...
You’re 16? Man I feel bad for the world you’re living in today.
@@gone.golfing 17 now, but yeah the world's gone to shit.
@@GhostlyPhantom Don’t go to college. It’s a waste of time and money. That’s the best advice I can give.
@@gone.golfing didn't plan on it lol. If anything I'll get a part time and try out other things that wouldn't need a secondary education like college or university.
@@GhostlyPhantom I would do my life all over again after I graduated high school oh so long ago. I just pray for you and the younger generations to follow that you guys will be able to make a living without having to be a doctor or a lawyer.
Super bummed that Lego labels the outside of their shipping boxes! I knew right away what my husband got me for Christmas when it showed up. 😭 Side note: that isn’t a cat door, it’s a dog door. 🐶
Nice review. So much nostalgia brought by this set.
What a gorgeous set! The little gear knobs are such a nice surprise!

Awesome LEGO deal
@@TiagoCatarino YES!
Great review. As the second movie is so frequently referenced are we going to get a Plaza Hotel set soon with a Donald Trump minifigure?
Probably not given how he was digitally erased from the second film.
I like this new simple black background box really just let's the set pop and show all it has. Nice review too. Maybe I can get a few of these big sets to display in our new home soon
When i first saw the thumbnail for the video i was thinking it was going to be the open back style building also. Then i thought, well itd probably be simple enough to close it in yourself. But to see Lego did it for you from the start is really awesome. I love the modular buildings they put out and this is basically just a larger size version of that. I could see me putting this into a large Lego city and having this be like the "mayors mansion" or something up on a big hill overlooking the city. Put in some lighting features for the windows at night to match the rest of the city and itd look pretty sweet.
This is amazing! I love your videos so much!!
I love this LEGO set, so much Easter eggs.
Including 5 LEGO minifigure characters from the classic movie "Home Alone".
Kevin, Harry, Marv, Kate, and Old man Marley
Love how it opens! So much better than open back
This is awesome! Many good memories watching these movies, a must have set for this guy.
I am glad to see they included the basement furnace!

I enjoy the review approach you use compared to most other channels. Highlight whats cool and cover everything fairly quick.
Love all the details in this build
Just finished building this.Superb set!
Yes! We think it would be so neat to have highly detailed houses to build a whole neighorhood.
This set is amazing, its like the real house with everything it need and also so beautiful and cute i love it from the moment i see it i really want to get it.
Great review. So many hidden Easter eggs. Love the furnace feature. 👌🏻
Thanks!! yes it was a fun mechanism, actually pretty interesting to use elsewhere!
I loved building this! It turned into such a very solid joy. Incredibly satisfying.
I think they should make a side set to this, like the church or store, and include more McCallister family members
Probably can't do the church, since Lego doesn't allow religious themes in their sets

I love the mini legs that can move
A must have..Im still waiting for mine to arrive...Great review
A set I never expected to see but there it is! So awesome and so many neat details for those who love the film.
Right?
You put the clock sticker on upside down. The clock is a callback to when Kevin's parent's alarm clock gets reset in the night, which puts them in a hurry, and was the reason they forgot Kevin in the first place.
Thank you! It kinda didn't make sense and I was very puzzled with it xD
@@TiagoCatarino I can see that, it's a little ambiguous. The clock is meant to read 12:00 though. Glad I could help.
Great review, the thought that went into this set is incredible

Soooooo dam cool! Makes me feel old, knowing the movie came out so long ago!! This set looks fantastic and way beyond expectations! Well done Lego 😎
This reminds me of watching home alone on sic during holidays, a lot of memories :)

That’s a good replica of the Home Alone house & how it can function like some of the clips on the actual movie. I use to watch the movie constantly, as a kid.
Now this. This will make my Christmas along with the ucs Death Star
