For those who try this and it doesn't work: It didn't work for me but I finally checked the pin underneath the key (closest pin to you), and it was a slotted pin that had been rotated slightly, like 11 & 5 on a clock. So I grabbed a pair of pliers, carefully rotated it back to 12 and 6, and it was fixed!
I had two keys that I use so often. Started sticking out of the blue and it was so frustrating. Found your video, and 2 minutes later it Worked like a charm. Thank you very much!!
considering what's wrong and his solution it looks like moving the key to one side and moving up and down would be as good or better than 'three different position moves'. Because the move is simply squashing the felt isn't it? three times. at one end, in the middle then the other end. so move it to one side then work the key and you've squashed it end to end surely? Then do it again with the key held to the other side. Now you've squashed both felt sides end to end. I've got two sticky keys. I'll try it. Did it. Both fixed. My way. Bit hard to push them to one side so I stuck a clarinet reed between the keys on the side away from the side I was pushing to in order to help me. If that matters. :) Give a new insight into the piano really. It's a wonderful instrument alright - but it's just a collection of levers at heart isn't it?
Didn't work for me, but opening things up I discovered one of kids had stuck one of those smashed, super thin commemorative pennies you get from touristy places in between two keys. It was wedged perfectly enough that it was catching one key. So there's also that possibility.
I have a problem with sticky black keys. When I press a black key the front of the black key gets stuck to the white key and therefor isn't able to come back up. Any idea how I can fix this problem?
If that's just happening to 1 key, you might just need to file some of one or both keys. Remove the top panel, lift out the fallboard, unscrew and remove the action, then you should be free to inspect and file those 2 keys. For best results, hire your local tech! :)

Are you sure you can't wiggle the black keys? The same principle should apply.
Him having 20 pianos
Me just wanting one
Good video but, my issue was cleared with a doubled piece of construction paper shoved between the keys which cleared, likely, G-kid goo 🙂
Uh....wiggle them? This did not work.

It did nothing! 😢
Sorry, you may need a tech. It could be centre pins.
This was a good introduction... with a Finnish puukko/knife I did the rest. Thank you!
