    i,m a villafan from belgium for almost 40years now(i,m 55 now),i saw them play anderlecht for the first time,then i went to rotterdam for that magic game against bayern,afterwards i went 6times to villapark,in those times there was no internet,smartphone,gsm only bbcradio on midwavebandth on my radio,it took me almost 24 hours to travel with boat,train to get at villapark,but it was fantastic,emotional,pure magic!i stood on the holteend before they took it down for a new stand,to support such a team with history,a fantastic ground,unbelievable fans it makes me proud to be one of them.Claret&blue it,s in your blood and i could not live without villa,there part of my life just like my parents,daughter,brothers.So Villa thanks for the unforgetable moments you gave me!!!

    As a Villa fan in the 70s I had to live in Small Heath for a year. Getting to and back from the Derby games was one of the most dangerous things I ever did in my life. In fact the only thing which was worse was when Glasgow Rangers came to Villa Park for what was supposed to be a "friendly" game.

    Taking bias out of it, this derby has the potential to be massive. 2nd city with 1 million population and only 2 clubs in the city yet modern football and wank owners has ruined it. City is now full of gloryhunters and it’s a shame. Both have massive potential.

    This doesn’t truly reflect the hatred between these 2 clubs and towards the end it seemed a bit like not much effort was made, a new Derby Days Birmingham Vs Villa should be made with the derby coming up on 10th March with potentially the biggest derby we’ve had in years

    • @fwebber13
      @fwebber13 Před 3 lety +2

      I know this is a year later but yeah. It was. If Villa go down or we go up with Aitor in the 20/21 season it will be the greatest Derby day of the season out of the whole country. It's overshadowed by the shithile fake derbies like all the "big" London derbies and the North England derby. I'll make a list right here of all the overrated derbies
      1. Arsenal vs Spurs
      2. Arsenal vs Chelsea
      3. Chelsea vs Spurs
      4. Literally every other London Derby
      5. Liverpool vs Man UTD
      6. Man City vs Man UTD
      7. Arsenal vs Man UTD
      8. Liverpool vs Everton
      9. Derby vs Forest (Jeez a fucking trophy)
      10. Palace vs Brighton
      11. Wolves vs West Brom
      12. West Brom vs Villa (Baggies fans care quite a bit but every Villa fan I know couldn't give a shit and anyway Baggies rivals are Wolves)
      13. Norwich vs Ipswich
      They're all overrated Derbies. The 2and City Derby is one of if not the biggest Ferby in English football and probably top 10 in Europe or even the world and it's probably No. 1 most underrated Derby in the world or at least top 5. It's sad

    • @DuxoupJr
      @DuxoupJr Před 3 lety +1

      @@fwebber13 I completely agree. The 2nd City Derby is by far the most underrated derby and I'm not just saying this because I'm a Villa fan but personally I'd go as far as saying it's the best derby in the country. The ferocity, passion and hatred is immense and unmatched. The Top 6 "derbies" for me are just too plastic and I get that there are some proper fans who are properly passionate about it but I just feel that on the whole the passion and hatred doesn't even come close to the Birmingham Derby. You get baggies fans trying to big up the "derby" between Villa and West Brom and I do admit that I don't like them at all and love to beat them but it's mainly cause they need shutting up because they're so deluded that they see us more as their rivals than Wolves (their actual rivals).

    No real battle as such. Thomas Holte sold off a massive part of his estate which became B-ham. We then had two teams, First Aston Villa 1874 who went on to be the first real super power club and created History. First they invented the Football league, followed by the first turnstiles, programs, floodlights and many more. Small Heath 1875 a local park team and a couple of trophy's in its entire history. The club once stated along with the villa that neither club would take the name of the city (similar to London), however to gain more support they went back on that promise and changed it in the 1960. Aston Villa supporters always call them Small Heath and do not acknowledge the 1960s name change. Villa play at the world renowned 43000 stadium Known as Villa Park, small heath play at the pig sty.

    6:18 is absolutely right. I’m a blues fan. This season I do want to see villa go down but only because I know we probably won’t go up. But the ideal situation for me is when both blues and villa are doing well in the prem so that when we play them, it gets as much attention as possible. It’s one of the best rivalries in England. It could be one of the best in the world if both teams were just a bit less shit lmao. Wrong actually we have more fans inside Brum as we are the first club if Birmingham, Aston basically got the glory hunters outside of Brum from the successful years. Yes of course it's changed a lot now with both fans mixing and obviously the influx of immigration into the city has had a big impact. Blues now have fans who live outside the city too. Solihull is a majority Blue area and counts technically as not part of Birmingham while Tamworth is a big Villa area.

    Look, villa maybe in the championship currently but we have far better chance of going back up than the blues. It just boils down to our history and resources we currently have. However, i would like it very much for both blues and villa to play in each other in the premier league. There is no bigger stage to show our rivalry :)

      Miles Mckie coming from a neutral all I can say is at least Villa got to Wembley. Looking at the history and current situations of both clubs only draws one conclusion: Villa are the bigger club and the more worthy team to represent Birmingham. Blues are a smaller club, with poor support in the city and surrounding areas. Just accept that you're in Villa's shadow and need to prove yourselves as a club before you can comment.

Don't know where you got these people from, a real half arsed effort to talk about a derby that is known for violence and hatred. Only good bit was AR towards the end. No mention of Rocky Lane? The Dion Dublin headbutt game and the aftermath? The Carling Cup semi final? Digbeth last year? Etc etc.

      There was more recorded than what made the edit, I talked about things such as the Carling Cup quarter final and the derbies in the early 00's which were a lot more feirce. I think they might save that stuff for if they make a proper 'derby days' on it.
      I think this video was made as more of a light-hearted version, with less of a view on the violence - though it is definitely a huge part of it.

    Tbh, I think blues are looking better in the future, Very young manager in Garry Monk, and a young team with a great academy.
    Yeah Villa might be better now and have more fans and a bigger stadium and can attract bigger and better players but our time will come.
    All blues have been through it we need a time where we build a team, all the youngsters coming through, but also attracting having players such as Jota and Harlee Dean shows we are also a big club.
    When St.Andrews is full, It’s a fortress, such as last Sunday vs Fulham. Unbeaten in 23 and they turn up to our place and get well and truly beaten over the 90.
    Hopefully next season we sign a few good players and hold onto Jota, Wes Harding, Harlee Dean and Che Adams and build the squad around them and things will start the look up. KRO!

    Blues Fans: Blues lose a game. Fans get butt hurt and immediately type in "Premiership Results", to see if they can console themselves , hoping desperately that Villa have lost too And if Villa have lost, somehow the Blues defeat is now a victory - of sorts, and their little bottoms are no longer sore.
