      I don’t think they can. The antenna on the mars rover is already bigger than spot itself.

      @jedsmith6371 Před 7 měsíci +1

      @ActiveSufi possibly a "home beacon" where it can recharge, also acting as a signal booster. would allow for larger parts(solar or nuclear generator, large antenna, etc..)to not have to be heaved around, increasing the total sample collection size spot could make in one trip.

      Never.. that's why the company keeps getting resold. In the meantime, Musk/Tesla are coming along quickly to eat their lunch in about 2 years. Their robots won't do backflips and parkour but they are also aiming at a sub $20K price point. I will take four of their robots over $100K plus for a spot with an arm and a decent camera.

    Ah, I see:
    These things are meant to read sensors...
    ...then why not just attach the sensors to a computer to record the data in real time?

    FYI This company is a boutique only selling super high end very expensive part bots.. that's why the company keeps getting resold. In the meantime, Musk/Tesla are coming along quickly to eat their lunch in about 2 years. Their robots won't do backflips and parkour but they are also aiming at a sub $20K price point. I will take four Tesla obots over the $100K plus for a Spot package with an arm and a decent camera.
    Boston Dynamics has a massive lead that they are squandering by faffing around and not mass producing something that most people will find useful.
