One of my most enjoyable interviews yet, loved chatting to Poch. Hope you enjoy it 👍
Try Klopp 😉

No hate but I find it interesting Messi is loved more than Maradona pretty much everywhere except his own country
Simple. Maradona was part of a world cup winning team and Messi wasn't.
Not true at all. Not where I’m from-the Caribbean. There is no way Mexicans love Messi more than Diego, and the same is true of Italy.
Boominaughty Maradona wasn’t just part of a World Cup winning team he literally won it almost single handedly if Messi won it in 2014 his performance still wouldn’t be half of what Maradonas was at the World Cup
craiganthonyevo Yh truss me Messi absolutely amazing and definitely the best ever with Maradona but not by far it’s quite close between them
@craiganthonyevo Maldini, in his words, said Messi is better than Maradona at the 2015 Balond'or ceremony. I don't know what you'd make of it. Most quality footballers and coaches that're not directly associated with CR7 or Maradona have no problem saying Messi is GOAT, that too since Messi was 23. Imagine being called GOAT at '23'!!

Humble in victory and dignified in defeat. A lot of managers could learn a thing or two about respect from Poch.

1. Rinus Michels
2. Marcelo Bielsa
3. Mauricio Pochettino
Maradona is really the best player of all time, probably a bit underrated because of his shitty charachter off the pitch, but that guy on the pitch was simply incredible he and the ball were like if it was a part of his body simply incredible, he was in risk every match cause every time rivals tried to injured him. Most of people that dont say he is the best probably didnt saw him playing or are born since 1995, only rate him cause his character, are messi or ronaldo fanboys(most of people) or are english. And i dont approve drugs, but he started arround 1990 and consuming drugs dont make you better on the pitch or give you some advantaje, but in his prime he didnt in 1984-1989 he was too good. Just imagine if he wouldnt have drugs he would have been unbeatable he even said "if i didnt do the bad things i made, pele would not even come second." In Napoles people have the "maradonian religion". But still Messi is very good and i am argentinian that leaves in england btw jaja. My top 5: Maradona, Messi, Pele, Cruyff and brazilian Ronaldo. Also CR7 and Zidane had to be on the top 10!
if he would have behaved he would no doubt be considered the Greatest of all time today but since he didn't he's paying the price but I do agree with you he is underated but it's not because of his talent but for the reason I just explained.
I totally agree
They don't say he is the best because if hate. They hate him because of his personality and the infamous hand of God
Great stuff. We love our Poch. (He's magic, you know) COYS!
Messi is the best ever.Maradona was a stronger version of messi maradona had to endure more physical abuse tackling wise.people trying to injure him etc and he won a world cup he didnt have the consistentcy of messi though. But messi is better i think if it wasnt for his argentina team mates like higuain who cant finish a chance for the life of them messi would have won the world cup in 2014. But also because he is so consistent for his age the amount of goals he scores year in year out he has a better ratio on scoring than cristiano at this point of their careers. He can dribble like no one else. Assists. Free kicks. For me he is the most talented player i have ever seen. So for me messi is the best ever
Are you Pochettino?
@@bofi9301 Yes
This makes no sense
Yea that's your opinion. But Maradona had more tricks up his sleeve. Maradona went to lesser known Napoli and won a champions league. I wanna see Messi join Napoli and win a champions league. Lol won't happen.
Flexer MC you can’t assume that Argentina would’ve won the World Cup final if higuain scored that change
Also Messi has played with better players for Argentina than Maradona

Maradona was the most talented player to ever play the game so far. Messi has better stats that’s off the table. He is better but Maradona is my favourite. If l’m playing against my greatest enemy, I would pick Diego without a question.
i had an de la pena trikot in the 90s from Lazio Rom, great Player, no one remembers him sadly
Of course Maradona was the best and he’s the king 🤴
Yes, was.
Messi established himself has the best player of all time in 2011. All he needs is a world cup to cement his legacy, people remember trophies and goals. not the details. That's why Ronaldo gets credit for winning Euro and proving himself with his country even though his team literally won the final without him. People forget that ronaldo was on that stacked Portugal that choked to greece in 2004
Boominaughty if u look at it that way Messi wouldn’t match Maradonas World Cup win because the way Maradona won it he contributed to the team better than everyone else, if Messi won the World Cup in 2014 it still wouldn’t match half of Maradonas performance in the World Cup he won because he almost single handedly won it
@@safwan1990you believe Maradona won the WC singlehandedly when he wasn't even among the 3 argentines who scored in the final. You think he was scoring "the goal of the century" every game? Lool. Messi won the Best player of the tournament for a reason go watch the damn games you bellend
Boominaughty looooooool Maradona wasn’t just goals fam he scored 5 and assisted 5 only 4 goals were scored by Argentina that Maradona didn’t contribute, he created 75% of the chances, completed 75% of dribbles, most fouled player, goal of the century Maradona wasn’t even a goalscorer
Boominaughty tell me this, why is Maradona literally the only player out of the top 5 greatest ever who has the least amount of goals? That says something in itself Pele, CR7, R9, Messi have double the goals of Maradona, so why is Maradona in the conversation?
Boominaughty I do think Messi is the best ever but if Messi wins the World Cup I don’t think it would be so simple for people to say he’s better than Maradona because his performance just doesn’t match it, Messi can’t carry the team the way Maradona did

Jajaja el acento de Mauri! Sos más Argentino que el dulce de leche 😆😂😂
Diego Maradona was at his peak for 3-4 seasons, doing amazing things like winning world cup '86 or Serie A with Napoli...Messi , on the other hand, is the Maradona of '86 every moment, almost every match that he has played, for the last 14 years...absolutely incredible ... and considering Barcelona to be such a big club in Europe, where all the great footballers of the world dreams to play, Messi has remained their central force for more than a decade now..that is no less a feat than winning a league for Napoli..International trophy for Argentina??To summarize in brief, Messi pulled out almost every bit of energy from every tissue in his body to win the WC , but the team around him let him down in every possible way ... also, he does not have the champions luck in WC, which Maradona had in '86 ...that hand of God moment..But , fortunately, Messi being a freak of nature, at this moment is still going great guns, (just finished off watching Barcelona vs Liverpool , champions league 2019, whatta free kick ), i still believe he'll throw a last attempt for Qatar WC 2022...The most important yardstick for evaluating a sports man is consistency, and there's no one beating Messi there
That last attempt at the World Cup in Qatar was successful. Messi has won the World Cup with Argentina on the 18th of December 2022.
Messi considered best in history except in Argentina
I'm from Argentina and I think that Messi is much better than Maradona. More goals, more consistence, more athlete, more assistances. Maradona played excellent World Cup '86 and he became a sport hero, that is the difference in Argentina. Messi could not yet give us any cup, except for one golden medal in an Olympic games. I consider Messi, in the pitch, is Maradona plus Batistuta, he can create the attack of the team and he can score, too...
Don't forget Napoli

@@jaredscott3383 true, except for the world cup.
Really interesting insight from a great manager who was also a pretty good player in his day. I can't understand some of the ignorant comments here from people saying the English hate Maradona. Those of us who actually saw what he did on the day can only agree with Maradona's response to what he did - he was mortified. After blatantly tipping the ball in with his hand, almost for a laugh, he was the first person that ran to the referee to pointing out that it was a hand ball and the goal shouldn't stand. There was, at the time (and probably still today) massive pressure put on officials to ensure that England were officiated against in every decision because of the way our press was uncovering fraud in both FIFA and the IOC. His second goal you can only marvel at no matter where you come from. If you play like that and it doesn't result in a goal, you've been robbed. In my opinion, Maradona had the sh1t kicked out of him in just about every game he played. If he was playing today under the current rules for both offside and tackles from behind which make it far easier for creative and intelligent players now than in his day, I believe the consensus would easily show him to be better than even Messi. My own preference for the greatest of all time, though, goes to Ronaldinho. His skill on the ball, tricks, artistry and just the sheer joy he brought onto the pitch, his character and attitude spoke volumes of him as a man and lifted everyone who played on the same pitch. Elsewhere on CZcams there is a plethora of vids showing Ronaldinho at his best, well worth a look for any fan.
Jay jay Okocha what a magician on the pitch
It is so funny that when Managers talk about the best players of all time , they always name players but not C. Ronaldo... after that some Facebook experts want to tell me that he is the GOAT😂😂😂 just stfu
He has the capacity to say capacity.
Jay Jay Okocha and Ronaldinho are the most skillful players of all time
Haha, Jay Jay! Good choice!
Fenners just sat there in silence waiting for Poch to tell him who the first two players were🤣🤣🤣
Who cares who the best is? They are all entertaining in my opinion and they have all done fantastic things on the field. Messi, Maradona, R7, R9, Pelé, Zlatan, Cruiff, Ronaldhino, Zico, Zidane and many more have all done wonderful stuff and they were all great, so why is it so important to claim which one of them who was the best? It's just silly.
Jay Jay Okocha, so good that they named him twice!
ivan de la pena, the original xavi, the little buddha himself. espanyol legend
no offense but messi is the best and he will always be
Maradona was better than messi. Pele was better than both, he could do everything.
@Luca Bellini pele had also similiar consistency and everything messi had . PLUS he performed in the biggest stages . Maradona too. Unlike messi
All of you in the comment section are completely wrong... Messi with just a touch on the ball has the whole world on pause. He does everything better than Maradona and Pele. Pele isn't even the best Brazilian of all time, he is a fraud who would have been shut down in this era.

Neymar would be on the bench for PSG if ronaldinho and jay jay were playing for them today..he can't lace the boots of these 2 players 👊👊
The Bat Ronaldinho was unbelievable but he lacked end product just deep it Ronaldinho has 33 goals for Brazil and Neymar has 60 and he’s only 27, if u take the skills out of Neymar and Ronaldinho and it was just dribbling Neymar would probably be the better player cuz he scores more, assists more and just contributes to the team more, Ronaldinho humiliates players and does amazing stuff with the ball but he wouldn’t end up winning games for his teams he would jus the contributing to the team don’t get new wrong Ronaldinho is better than Neymar but I think Ronaldinho is slightly overrated because of his skills

The Bat I’ve said Ronaldinho is better but I’m just saying he’s slightly overrated because of his skills, Ronaldinho is more of a talented player but he only lasted like 3 seasons he lacked end product
For me the best 3 in the history are: Johan Cruyff, Pelé, Alfredo di Stefano
One of the greatest managers on the planet agrees with me, Maradona is the best player Argentina has ever produced.
He still wanted to talk. Why did you stop :(
For me Maradona was the most skillful player who's ever played the game. His talent was ridiculous. But he wasn't the best. Although he shone brightest for a time his overall career was a tale of unfulfilled brilliance due to living a certain lifestyle that involved partying, drugs, etc. To be fair there were some unfortunate injury's and illness too, especially during his time at Barcelona, but he wasted his god given brilliance and large parts of his career on his own.
I wonder why CR7 never ever gets mentioned in the ranks of the likes of Pele and Maradona but Messi is almost always there. All the keyboard warriors would beg to differ of course.
