Robin should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Ex procul harem guitarist. Saw him on this tour in 74 at Cobo Hall Detroit and 4 times after that. Known as the King of the Strat!!!! He filled the gap after Hendrix died and Jimi was a huge influence on him. He opened up the blues to a whole new generation. So lucky to grow up in this era when music was raw and nasty!!!
I have heard of Robin Trower but never heard his music, this is fantastic! It sounds so much like The Temptations during their late 60's early 70's 'psychedelic soul' period with added guitar - wow!
I remember some people I knew not liking Robin Trower because they felt like he was trying to duplicate jimi Hendrix. It was stupid, but because there was similarities in playing styles it was enough for some people who were major Hendrix fans to not like Robin Trower. I don't know how widespread that may have been, but I did know people that felt that way.
You’re absolutely correct, many times I heard from some people “he sucks, he plays just like Hendrix” and never actually heard Trower play. Their loss, oh well. All I know is I’ve enjoyed my 50 years of Robin’s music.
