Your videos are so positive and calming. I don’t have any children of my own or have plans to have a large family but still am able to engage with your content because you are just so lovely!
I look forward to everything you post and everything you do. You feel like a friend we’ve all had for years, kind, upbeat, and interesting.❤️
Seriously, I was just thinking the same. We are empty nesters and I don’t like casseroles other than lasagna but never miss a video!
@MamaReads I couldn't agree more.. perfectly said.. 🥰
Totally agree!
Would love to be at her house helping her cook while we talked!🥰
I agree it really feels like listening to your best friend. Jamerrill is a very inspirational lady in so many ways. Xx
I agree. I feel like she and I would be great friends. I love to cook, but don't need to cook nearly as much as her though. Idea, we can all stay with her in Travis' workshop when he is done working for the day. And spend the day with her , Tobin and all. Lol 😆 ❣️❣️❣️
I think it’s nice that you read aloud to you’d kids. One of my favorite memories from childhood is all of us kids and cousins piling in the recliner with my mom while she read to us. I remember her reading where the red fern grows and all of us crying. Dad got home and asked who died.
You are so genuine! This world needs more people like you in it! 🥰
It so wonderful that you make meals for others to help them out. I have 9 kids and I never had anyone help me with anything like with food prep or meals. It's so great that you are a great friend.
I was totally shocked the first time church folks brought us food after having a baby. It doesn’t always happen, but it’s nice when it does. I’m sorry no one has ever brought you meals, sweetie.
I can’t wait to see you do a mega freezer cooking video in your new mega kitchen
It’s gonna be great!!
We are all here for that 👏👏👏👏👏
Jamerill you deserve a special mom treat just for you.. You amaze me how much you do for your family your mom of the year for sure..
In culinary arts school and serve safe class, we were taught soups and broths must be set in a sink with ice water to cool down the soup fast before putting it in the fridge. The center of the soup with not doing it this way can take too long to cool and things can grow in it. (I don’t follow this for my family stuff, I figure the things “growing” around us is what we are used to, but something to consider to avoid the heating of the fridge in the future)
Love this channel ♥️ I’m here for recipe ideas. My friend was just put on bed rest at 4 months of pregnancy and she has 3 other children so I’m making a few meals so she can at least get a little peace of mind for a few days knowing meals are taken care of
Jamerrill, your food looks so appetizing. You’re such a kind, loving mother and Travis is an awesome father too. My husband and just wanted to tell you that we wish we could’ve had a loving family growing up. God bless you all.
I’ll chime in on the “not pre washing dishes” thing
It also helps if your dish washer has the “chopper blades” to disintegrate food particles. Most of the cheaper ones don’t have them. So it just creates buildup in the filters and they stop washing efficiently
Yes the dishwasher must be a good one, and designed for this . I just scrape and throw in, if I have to prewash then I will just hand wash. Good luck with this new shortcut!!!!
I scrub all my dishes before ever putting in a dishwasher. My mom was the kind that left in in the sink to get crusty and I was the kid that had to clean it so now I clean it really well before it ever gets dishwashed. Just a habit now and I will never break it. I am pretty happy with how I do dishes. Big pots get handwashed in the hottest soapy water I can muster up and then dried immediately.
Ugh so true! We thought we’d save a bit of money and got a cheap one…..never again!
I live on my own now as my father passed away 4 weeks ago and my Mum 14 months ago. Even when it was the three of us we never used the dishwasher as it would take a while to fill it even though we have two half sized ones.
I'm all for cheaper brands except when it comes to the dishwasher. It really does matter. We went through 2 dishwashers before we figured that out. We use Cascade gel and Finish dish drying gel we buy at Sam's when it goes on sale.
Congratulations on passing in the new construction!!! What a relief for you both!!!
I am happy to watch you on CZcams. it calms me down a lot when the situation in Ukraine and in Poland is so uncertain. bless you❤️❤️❤️
Hi, if you roast the bones before you add them to your slow cooker for broth you will get a more intense and richer flavour.
I always tell my husband,
"A DAY WITHOUT JAMERRILL IS LIKE A DAY WITHOUT SUNSHINE".
I really like how you read to your children. I don't think we ever stop wanting to listen to a story in many forms. As an ex year one teacher I would read books to my kids (I always refer to my students as my kids) three times a day to help them settle at the start of the day and after each break time. Xx
You are so precious with your descriptions of this Thrive box! And, you are so sweet and kind to us all! We certainly see Jesus in you.
Omg I just found your page and I can't stop watching. I've been binge watching ALL your videos. ♥️♥️🤭You just inspire me to do better and be a better momma... ❤️❤️❤️
If you add some apple cider vinegar into your bone broth water, it will help pull all of the nutrients out of the bones. You won't taste it at all. I add onions, celery, herbs, and a couple of bay leaves, also. (The carrots scraps, too.) It turns out SO delicious! All of your meals looked good!
Thanks for the apple cider tip!
Just a tiny bit does the trick, I usually just do 1-3 Tbsp, it should not taste sour. Super good to get calcium out of the bones!
That's my recipe too! Also, add five or six peppercorns in the beginning. Delicious!
I love using my electric roaster for making bone broth. I just saw another tuber that oven roasts prior to boiling with all the vegetables. I'll be trying that for my beef bone broth to come.
Always enjoy your videos, commentary and inspiration you give to us all. God bless.
I am 59 years old been married 41 of those years, ive never ever had a dish washer, except myself lol, but there was just 3 of us i cant imagine the dishes you have , thank goodness for paper plates, id do silverware too i hate washing them . Enjoy all your videos esp. When i see sweet Tobin smiling from ear to ear, hes so cute.
There’s only one of me in my family but I really love watching your shopping, cooking ,freezing, etc !! I’m thinking about putting stuff together to make me some freezer meals. I have been getting clearance foods( mostly the vegetables for snacks) ,they’re just perfect for me to make soups, stews,etc..
When my husband and I first married my Father-in-law was Manager of Shop Operations Bldg 3 (dishwashers) General Electric. We had them over for dinner and I was cleaning the kitchen and pre washing my dishes for the dishwasher. He had a fit. You don’t need to pre wash. Put those dirty dishes in the dishwasher. 😂😂😂 almost 50 years later I haven’t pre washed dishes for the dishwasher. He told me that during one of their tests they put an entire cake in the dishwasher and the dishes came out clean.
Oh wow! I always thought you didn't "need" to prewash, but that over time it kind of lessens the dishwashers efficacy if you left all kinds of chunks on the dishes. We wash the dishes with dawn soap, then put them in the dishwasher, which makes it more like a sanitizer than a washer. We have had the same one for 20 years and it works incredibly well. Maybe we just got a nice dishwasher and it wasn't the pre wash this whole time.
For future reference, vinegar + bicarbonate of soda, followed by a freshly boiled kettle of water will unclog your drains. I use it regularly, then follow with a generous squirt of dishwashing liquid & another freshly boiled kettle of water
I’m so happy for you and your new kitchen!!!
"The Yearling" makes me cry every time!
We rinse off our dishes after they are cleaned off in the trash can. I can't stand dried food on dishes if we are only running it in the evening. Also, make sure you run your hot water prior to turning on the dishwasher. It limits the time it takes for the dishwasher to heat up and most call for it to.
Good to know
We own a plumbing company & before you spend the money on a plumber ask Travis to take a plunger to the sink. Some hardware stores sell special plungers for sinks but it is basically the same thing just shorter. I can't tell you how many times that simple tip will unstop a sink. 😉
Some other things Travis could try:
1. Pour 1/2 gallon boiling water down the sink
2. Check the p-trap
3. Get the water out of that side of the sink with a cup. Pour baking soda down the drain & use something to push it all down into the drain. Pour 1 cup of vinegar down the drain. Place a stopper over the drain & let it sit for 15 mins. Try to flush with hot water afterwards.
4. Create a plumbers snake with a wire coat hanger. Keep the hook on the end so it can grab any debris down in the sink.
Hopefully one of these things help 😉❤️
You know what, once I finished this video, the next day I asked my 18-year-old to plunge it and he got it unclogged. We were doing that and I forgot. I also forgot the hot water trick. I seem to forget a lot, lol.
@@JamerrillStewart , I just edited my comment to add some additional tips!! So glad you were able to get it without having to pay a plumber. I'm the same way forgetting stuff until after the fact 🤦🤣
Great tips ! Thanks for telling us so we can all try these tips you told us before calling a plumber! I’ll be writing these tips down in the front of my spiral notebook where I keep my favorite recipes…just hope I don’t forget where I put the info when I have a clogged drain!😂
Thanks for sharing! I had no idea you could plunge a sink!
Oh yes you do have to rinse ur dishes, if u want your dishwasher to last. My brother in law was a maintenance man in a apartment building. A lot of ppl would leave food on their dishes and the dishwashers were destroyed and they will start stinking from all the food in the filter. The person you want to ask, is someone who works on dishwashers. My dad taught me how to peel an orange with a spoon. Great video
Bring water to a boil in the burnt pan , take off heat, add dish tab, let soak for a few hours or overnight and should come clean.
I've got to chime in again about the dishwasher debacle. I use Equate, Member's Mark (Sam's Club,) or Kirkland (Costco) brand dishwasher tabs if they are available & my dishes still come out clean. I know you're a money saving mama, too, so when you run out give one of the off brands a try. I'll think you'll be pleasantly surprised 😉. The only thing different I've noticed when I have to buy Finish or Cascade brand is that I don't have as many water spots. I don't have that many to begin with & that kind of thing doesn't bother me anyway.
I was just using generic dishwashing tablets , but I was finding my dishes were not getting super clean so I went to Finish and it has made a huge difference in how the dishes come out and I scrub my dishes of any particles before I ever put them in the dishwasher so I think precleaning helps. When I boil eggs in the AM, I just let the saucepans soak in DAWN and then clean out with a scrub brush and let drain on a towel on the countertop. If it is any bit questionable with broken eggs mid-boiling, I will put those thru the dishwasher after scrubbing, but then again I am an RN and I am germ-aware of what could be issues. I am after my counter tops twice daily with Lysol and any groceries brought into the home gets a Lysol wet wipe before putting up and this is YES... March of 2022 and I protect those folks that are vulnerable in my home to Covid. I do extra careful issues during this pandemic. I wear a mask, I am vaccinated x3 and I still will self distance from people I consider absolutely insane when trying to go about business in a pandemic, but you got to consider I live in a RED state and they are all crazy.
I agree with you!
Thank you for taking the time to post this video. Looking forward to the next one.💚 from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦
Yeah!!!! Inspection PASSED!!!! I'm super excited to see progress of new kitchen. Love watching u Jamerill...keeping it real always...love that about u
I never rinse my dishes. I used Finish for many many years, but I switched to Wal-Mart's brand of dish pods and love them more. My dishes are cleaner than before. Can't wait to see your new kitchen....I'm excited for you.
I want you to know how much I enjoy your videos!
I am in the cascade platinum team!! I even put 2 (one directly in the dishwadher and one in the dispense when the dishes have more grease. It makes all the difference!!
Congratulations on passing the inspection, things are really coming along. Excited to see the end result.
I use the Finish brand and also 1/4 to 1/2 cup vinegar in each load. The vinegar gets rid of that funky dishwasher smell... :)
I have been using finish for 10 years. It works the best
You are going to love those raised beds for gardening! I had one last year loved it! Think I will get my husband to build me another!
Your channel is my comfort page. I feel safe here ❤️
UR MAKIN PROGRESS ON NEW KITCHEN CANT WAIT TO SEE MORE PROGRESS GONNA MAKE THOSE DISHES U SHOWED TODAY IN OVEN AS ALWAYS ITS A PLEASURE TO BE WITH YA ALL. GOD BLESS JANET
I don’t even use my front burners, so used to not because of when my kids were real little! 🤣 I forget they even work! Hahaha
I’m looking forward to see if the sauce pan comes clean out of the dish washer !
Your going to love the Whisps in the Thrive box. My favorite is parmesan.
Love your new kitchen plans!
And just an fyi, you can find used appliance parts at suppliers too and here we have a used parts store too.
And a lot of them carry the old parts too.
Let's us know if your part worked.👍
I just had some of the Lily’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups a few days ago and I thought they were quite good!
I have always rinsed off my dishes before putting them in the dish washer! Who knew?!!!!
Jam (Jamerrill) packed video! God bless yall!!
Omg, I have memories of cooking on the same vintage stove growing up. We moved into the new house in Sept of 1963. we finally replaced it stove in summer 2010, it was down to 1 burner also.
I'd definitely still rinse them. Your dishwasher will last longer.
One thing to check is clean your filter in the inside bottom of the dishwasher occasionally. Some dishwashers have grinders and like mine does not.
Those raised beds would be amazing for a kitchen garden. Traditionally kept right outside the kitchen door and a place for quick cut things needed for everyday cooking like herbs and things for salads.
That’s what I was thinking when she was debating getting them in the store!!
Lol we have the same thankful tray your supply cups were on from a few thanksgiving years ago . I use them for everything!
I always had good luck with putting a cup of baking soda, some salt and vinegar. After an hour or so,when the water level goes down, I fill the sink with the hottest tap water. Then pull the stopper out and the clog is usually gone.
I just in really love your programs you're a wonderful person such a great mom and you do so many things how do you find energy and time I've watched you for a long time to but do little comments but you have such a good heart for others in God bless you my friend can't wait to see your new kitchen!!
Hi ,its white vinegar and baking soda for block sinks,
Empty sink as much as pos ,
Dry out as much as pos ,then pour bicarbonate soda down drain ,then pour white vinegar in on top ,it will begin to throth up ,leave for about 20 mins ,repeat iff need be .then run hot water till rinsed well good luck
I so much enjoy your posts. Thank you for sharing.
Yeah for passing the inspection!!!
It also depends how often you run your dishwasher too! There are only two of us. If we didn’t do a little rinsing the dishwasher would smell.
Yay!! Made my night with a video!! Loving the intro!!
Love seeing your viedos and i replay some too....thank you
We have prewash...he is a beagle names Tucker. 😂
My prewash is a collie called Angus🤣
I am brand loyal in so few things. The finish tabs are my favorite!
Tell me your an adult with out telling me haha " my favourite burner is back right ". Who knew adopting was such fun. Love your videos thank you from Scotland xx
*adulting
I have been using Swerve for along time . They also have Confectioners sugar. You always have such interesting video and kiddos are great!
One of my bugbears is seeing American people washing their dishes BEFORE putting them in the dishwashers. In the UK we have been told for over 20 years, you do not have to wash your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, its even in the instructions for the dishwasher. We use COSTCO own brand dishwasher tablets, does exactly the same as the Finish brand, oven trays with baked on food, straight in the dishwasher, dirty plates, cat food bowls, pans and absolutely everything, straight in the dishwasher, and nothing comes back dirty.
As always, all your meals look delicious!
Ive recently been making myself a smoothly daily. Omgoodness Jamerrill, I've been missing out for too long!
I was at Lowes in Fredericksburg (my mom works there) over the weekend getting seeds to start indoors for this year’s vegetable garden. I got distracted by all the outdoor furniture. Especially that round dome lounge chair lol
Hi Jamerrill, I love watching your channel here in Scotland UK, and I use finish dish washer tabs and I used to wonder why you washed your dishes first thought it was just something you liked doing lol, so glad you have discovered the easy way. xoxoxoxox
Thank you so much for sharing. We are cooking more and more at home because everything has become so expensive!
Everyone needs to know how to cook from scratch ! I come from a long line of wonderful cooking from scratch women and all of them were fantastic cooks! And thankfully all of them were Godly women so I was doubly Blessed ..knowing Jesus and being taught to be a good from scratch cook! Loved each one of them!
It also depends on the dishwasher brand, some are not cut out to get the dishes clean without rinsing them first.
Vinegar and bicarb together is what I was told to do. Wait and see if water will empty. Then try and get a heap of bicarb down sink hole. Then pour vinegar in so reaction happens in pipe. Good luck and God bless.
Those are great Adirondack chairs. I live in Canada, and have left them outside year round for a few years now, and they have held up great. I think you said you are getting Bosch dishwashers in your new kitchen. We got one years ago and love it. It works amazingly well, we only need to avoid avocado, even egg comes off fine.
Looks great have a fun day
I freeze thing I have extra of, like peppers, onions, chicken stock, and beef stock. Those are used fast in food prep. I have even frozen ginger and it still works well in recipes after dethaw.
I use finish all the time, I like it the best!!
I love that everyone just has to have a favorite burner on their stove. 😆
I have portable planters without wheels ,but those are awesome! Matches your chairs
For burnt pans put water about half way up, add good squirt of dish soap and put on the hob to simmer for about 10 mins it will lift off easily xx
I do this every time. Works like a charm.
@@stephaniemushonga5150 we have an amazing easy to clean pan but for some reason something like jambalaya leads to a pan that needs soaking no matter how many times you stir it xx
4am and I ordered my first thrive market box!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you!
Oh how I would love to experience your winters. I'm here in Canada and this year has been like on and off snow to equal about 4ft. Its also been minus 20-30 degrees Celsius.
I freeze fresh kale and spinach and some other greens especially if they were starting to go and then I just throw those into my smoothie Frozen They're going to break down and once you whipped them up good if you got a pretty good machine. You can't even tell it's a great way to stretch out your veggies
Thank you Jamerrill!
Yummy that smoothie sounds delicious 😋
We have those contigo cups for my 2.5 yo triplets and they are the best! First cups they can’t break!! We only use them for water also and have had 0 issues with mold.
I’ve noticed avocado, egg, peanut butter, and cilantro specks don’t come off in the dishwasher! But everything else, I just throw in there without rinsing 😁
I remember when me and my brothers use to make things out of boxes, of course my older brother made the best little box G.I. Joe box fort, and my younger brother and myself both wanted to play with my older brothers fort box but he wouldn’t let us 😄
Baking soda followed by vinegar in that stopped up sink(dip the water out first). Give time to work. Follow up with boiling hot water.
You also have a filter in bottom of your dishwasher that needs to be cleaned at least once a month! Oh and if you one at top of door need to clean it too!
Tobin's curls are the very best and he has the biggest blue eyes. My little guy had springy adorable curls until first haircut. I so miss them.
I have used dish washers for years. Originally we didn't rinse dishes before loading them. I believe the machines were built better back then. I have also used professional dish washers in my day and we still rinsed the dishes before loading them. I believe that not rinsing dishes causes damage and wear to most dish washers. I agree that dishes will usually get clean either way but I just feel better rinsing first. Basically a dish washer's main purpose is to sanitize dishes by using hotter water than we could by hand washing them.
We have a place here called Fox Appliance that has anything you can think of to do with stoves refrigerators tubing freezers. Not the actual stoves and freezers Etc but the parts to replace to fix them. It is a wonderful place
Hi Jamerrill, when you have time, can you please just show us how you use your Smart Cooker, I want to know more about the seal area just to be safe when using mine- I can use a normal pressure cooker but have yet to try out my new smart cooker. Big thank you in advance.
I love you and your family so much I always wanted a large family but I had to settle for 3 boys I love to cook and I enjoy watching Have a good week
Funny~ just before you talked about fruit for smoothies, I paused the video to go make my own to enjoy the rest of it~ and there you were with your Vitamix! 🤗🕊✨
Please allow me to be so bold as to suggest a "farm scene mural" for the backing of your new cook stove? It will certainly add the color splash you were unable to get with the stove itself. Thank you for sharing!
I really don’t know how you do everything that you do!
Wow, shoveled that stuff well.
Rinse them, if food goes in, it can clog the filters in the dishwasher and start flinging food particles and leaving it on the cups and bowls 'n' such eventually.
