  • In this video, I am doing the weekly modeling challenge from the Imphenzia Discord server and the theme is Metro. First, I model the metro station in 10 minutes, and then we'll see how long it takes to increase the detail of the diorama to a respectable level =)

    I use a Sony FX3 camera with a Sony FE 2.8/24-70mm GM lens. My primary microphone is now the Shure SM7B, and I use a Rode NTG3 shotgun mic if I need it to be out of view. I downgraded to a Focusrite Solo from my wonderful RME Fireface UFX II that I had to sell when I moved from Sweden to Australia.

    About the windows .. I normally ( if i have multiple face which need to be inset ) select first the odd faces inset them and repeat it for the even row .
    I like the way you present this channel and the world of modeling .. They are not a tutorial but if you pay attention you can learn a lot from them .. thank you👍
    EDIT : I like to mention i really like the non texture method.... no textures and somehow it still looks good 😄

    Hey Imphenzia. I followed your beginner tutorials to start learning Blender and 3d modelling in general. I'm having trouble with creating things with complex and cramped interiors - things like car interiors, air/spacecraft cockpits in particular, but also buildings and other miscellaneous objects - the interior geometry vs the interior, creating things like the windshields/windows that are transparent but are still visibly there; correctly scaling things like chairs, controls and instrument panels for a human model, and arranging them well for a player's FOV. I tried a couple different methods each with mixed results - firstly, building the body of the vehicle, with a space for the cockpit and then building it out from there - and modelling the exterior entirely by its self; taking the front-section, down-scaling it by a little bit and flipping its normals, then putting that interior where it's supposed to be and sort of linking things together from there.
    Do you already have have a tutorial on how you do these things? If not, I'd find it really helpful

    • @Imphenzia
      @Imphenzia  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi! Maybe this can shed a little light on how I tacke interiors: czcams.com/video/5cM_lhRmiQI/video.html
      I usually hide exterior geometry in edit mode (select faces and press H key) and then I extrude in to create a space for the cockpit. Then I model the interior (steering wheel, seats, etc) and then I press Alt H to unhide what I hid before.

    I love your tutorials but I'm curious how you put color and emission color to objects without going to the shader section It's cool and makes the progress go faster.

    Could some veterans impart me with some blender wisdom? If you shift+D duplicate, like he did on the top train vent and move it back. Would you have to merge meshes, retopologize, and clean up the verts if you wanted to use this as an asset, not just a render?

    Can you make a video of game ready assets? Like What makes an asset game ready.
    I also have a suggestion for another video.
    Make something you really good at in 10 minutes -1 hour than 6 hours so we newbies can see the difference between them.
    I suggest a knight on a horse (armored if possible)
    Thanks

      It's a palette texture, so just like any texture image but it contains colors and I place the UVs on colors to colorize the model.

    Long time fan here, wondering how long you think/plan about how to make something before starting? I assume you couldn't just be told "make a stagecoach wagon" (insert any other kind of model) and then start on it as a ten minute challenge, or could you?

    • @Imphenzia
      @Imphenzia  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Hi, thanks for asking. It totally depends, if it's something I roughly know or have seen, e.g. computer, speaker, cartoon car, tree, shed, bridge, etc. I can do it straight away. But often I just google some images to get a rough idea of what things look like or in this case what is generally found in a metro station. In some cases, I also test out methods, like the 10 cars in 10 minutes video, I looked at a workflow that could maximize the ability to make multiple cars first.
