When you think of the Buck Showalter Era of Orioles baseball, this is the player you think of. Yes, we had guys like Chris Davis, Manny Machado, JJ Hardy, Nick Markakis, Nelson Cruz, and many others, but out of all of them, AJ stands out the most. He was both the leader on the field as well as off of it. One of the last great everyday players in modern baseball. Tonight, the current Orioles need that type of swagger that he brought in order to maintain the AL East lead. WE CAN DO THIS!
He was always my favorite player
Orioles always had great Centerfielders, and I was blessed to watch Paul Blair in Memorial Stadium. I'm real happy Adam Jones retired an Oriole and is part of that great tradition. I really thought JJ Hardy was another from Adam's era who exemplified that team. Talent and class, the both of them.

I will remember Adam Jones for a lot of things, but one of my favorite non-baseball moments was he and Robert Andino walking around New York slapping Orioles stickers on everything saying, "put some Birds on it."

As a life long Orioles Fan, I bleed black and orange, Adam Jones was perhaps not the leader we deserved...but he was the leader we needed. I will forever remember AJ #10 and thank him for all he did on the field and even more importantly what he did for the community of Baltimore and Maryland (and beyond). He is a HoF in my book.

Adam and his wife used to come into a restaurant I worked at in Baltimore. Both incredibly kind and down to earth people. Wish them the best.

Mr Jones if you see this. My name is Tyler when I was 16 I watched you at my first mlb game when the Os played the Tides in spring 2011 at Tides stadium in Norfolk. All the other players refused to stop and sign autographs after the game you were the only one that did. And I will say as I said to you then. Thank you Mr Jones

Congarts to Mr. Jones. As a Yankee fan, his time with the Orioles was very similar to the Don Mattingly years in NYC. Both were great players on not so good teams most of their careers. Also both class acts on and the off field. Next stop for Adam is hopefully a successful post playing career. Maybe as a future on the field "Skipper," GM/Front Office or even a career as a TV analyst. Once again Congrats.

Many great memories from this Era of orioles baseball. I watched every night with my cousin and a buddy. Both of them are gone now way too young. I look back and remember how much joy we had just sitting on the couch with a couple of beers and the o's. Thanks for always being a stand up guy Adam Jones.

Can’t believe they would even dare to shame someone like Adam by throwing Flaherty out there on the night he retires. Bad enough they’re already choking away the division lead and they got absolutely humiliated by the pitcher they gave away to get Flaherty, but now they have to disrespect one of the greatest CFs in Orioles history like this by not even trying to win the actual game?
