In case anyone was curious - Yes, all the ridiculous shit that looks like setup in the trailer actually does happen in the game, all the time.
Watching this gives me a sense of pride and accomplishment.

HadvidWrekage 1.0 Well no people attack EA, not DICE. If you ask me, DICE is mostly to blame for making a weak and highly flawed “Battlefront” game that lacks the soul of the original Battlefronts or really the soul of Star Wars altogether. But specifically, things like lack of an instant action-type offline multiplayer, lackluster/mediocre campaign, and cross-era heroes is a much greater concern imo. I’m just glad I didn’t throw away my money a second time on their trash reboots. I completely regret getting the 2015 game and I am never buying another EAFront again, unless the price is $10 or under and I like the DLC content (assuming it’s free) But if they’re going to continue to add minimal new content and most of it is from the crappy Disney/sequel era, then I’m really not interested. Besides, I’m kind of sick of the original Battlefronts as it is, I don’t particularly care for a trash reboot of a game that I’m already burned out on after what, like 6 continuous years now? I’m content playing through the Jedi Knight games and KOTOR games which I got on sale from GOG some months ago.
Any system of progressions that can cause one person to be statistically more powerful than another (voiding skill), is broken if it's not in an MMO or RPG styled game. To add on to this insult, they allow players to pay to statistically be more powerful. I would take paid DLC over these any day. Luckily, nobody is locked out of being statistically just as powerful as someone who has paid to be. However, if that is what it takes for you to consider this "pay-to-win", you need to set your standards a bit higher.
Xephyr Dude have you watched videos where people paid micro-transactions? It cost $100+ just to get a few tier 4 cards, and you have to be rank 20 in the specific class just to equip them, and they give only a minor advantage that doesn't break the game. So basically, very few people will "skip," of those that do, they only get a very minor advantage that does not break the game, and even then they don't escape having to grind. You don't know jack shit about what you're talking.

If not then you're missing out. Battlefront 2 is good for a game or two, but gets tired very fast. I can drop hours into MB2 and not even realize how long I've been playing for. To each their own, but it's worth giving a shot.

The game itself is full of veterans (or pretty good people that know the basics and stuff) and it's pretty difficult if you are a newbie and still kinda crappy with all the keybinds 'n strategies...but with time, tutorials and playing around in some servers, you'll get the hang of it.
I talk with personal experience and I still recommend this mod for any interested fan of the Star Wars series, have a good day stranger.

I'm glad they removed it. The fights were fun in duel, but open was hell with snipers.
I will never get my Deka to blindside the entire enemy team waiting on the catwalk ever again.... That, was a work of art. (Unlimited Firepower build, so I could fire forever and never run out of ammo)

I’m amazed 15 years on this game still has such a strong community. I always loved this when it came out, I didn’t know much about modding as I was only 11 but I used to bring up the console and spawn loads of Jedi and Rebels Against Wampas!!

Well, depends on the server... in some places... you call down the mighty Admin gods and eviscerate them. Also, getting the Admin to just give permission to lame them until they leave works. Of course, in CB Duels, self-policing is what we call, an art form. The lightsaber duelists champions descend from on high descend and anally use a lightsaber to fuck the lamer up, then ban them.... beautiful. Ever seen someone mblock a lamer for 17 minutes straight and them kill them in one-blow? I have...

Mod sucks, so does Jedi Academy. Buy Dark Forces, JK, or Jedi Outcast, any of those are far superior.

They used to have a huge RP fan base then they implemented a time limit that was mandatory and killed all the RP servers in the process. Hard to have any long setups when you're locked into 5 minutes before the map resets.

Anyone remember Defenders of Peace? We were a RP server with tons of members, but MB implemented a time limit and basically screwed us out of being able to continue. My older cousins started it, and ran it for years. Was and still are my fondest gaming memories, unrivaled. I tried to revive it maybe ~7-8 years ago now, but the time limit was still in place.
Watching this is awesome because i have been playing this mod for a very long time and i am happy the community still supports it :)

You know that the game is much better than the AAA Star Wars games today when you see these developers putting time and effort into the little but cool touches like 0:40 when one Jedi equips his light saber by flipping it in the air and catching it
to be fair, that is an animation for showing off... no literally. It's an emote. That being said, the emote auto-activates the lightsaber when used... so.. yeah.
The newer starwars games have emotes and customization with moves and signature lines most from the real voice actors.
Ah, the guy/gal who think i'm not such a star wars nerd to not own almost every Star Wars game to date. Rest your poor soul. Seriously, I wasn't arguing that the mod was better then the AAA titles because it has emotes and the AAA titles don't. May your faulty logic R.I.P. I was explaining the animation isn't the way of equipping the weapon, and merely an emote that can be used regardless if the weapon is "turned" on or off. If the weapon is equipped, and is off, the emote activates the weapon at the same time. Also, most of the voice acting is sound clips taken from the movies and games of the Star Wars franchise, which also use professional voice acting.
On a side note, what makes a voice actor "real?" Just curious here, as your statement makes a differentiation between the two. There are some Indy titles were the Developers go and make weird (or full voice lines as well, really depends on the game) sounds into a mic and then modify the sound in an editing software to make the sound that they want in their game. Yet, is this not "real"? Is your reasoning that if someone isn't hired by a AAA company to do the voice of a character the only "real" actor? What about the people who make huge overhaul mods for games, like a couple of Skyrim mods (whose names escapes me at the moment, and couldn't be bothered to find them again). Hell, The Third Age Total War for Medieval 2: Total War had a huge amount of original voice acting on the part of the development team. A crap-ton of new factions all needed unique voices for their different units. And yet, your going to tell me that their effort isn't "real" voice acting? Please, share with me why this isn't so. (Of course, I went into a mini-rant on voice acting, but I'm being an asshole and assuming your opinion, please "put" me in my place if I am wrong in assuming this is what you think).

I never said it was "bad". And comparing mods to actual games is not right. Games multiplayers have to stop when they are not profitable anymore. Mods can go on as long as their creators have enough free time to continue doing them and making them good for players. Movie Battles II is still the largest and most popular out of those for Jedi Academy and for a good reason.

Is old DOTF really coming back? Or was this just older footage being used? New DOTF looks fantastic, but the gameplay aspect did go down a lil bit compared to the old version. Regardless, great progress and I can't wait for the updates.
Old footage. A lot of this trailer was filmed in the months before DOTFv2 released or was in a state good enough to show on video.

Last few years i have noticed how much passion fan projects like this have. I love games and hate how corporate greed has infected them. However things like this, bf3 legacy for bf2, Halo ce spv 3 and instilation 01 have brought hope to gaming. Great job and i love the music.

They were only there in the first place so they could fund the free DLC. Why aren't you hating on games like GTA V or Overwatch? They have microtransactions. I love how Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy has transformed into this and had a re-release on the Nintendo Switch. Its hard to believe Raven Software would go off and join the Call of Duty lineup. A shame really.

Presentation. I have seen several comments that asked about a "new" mod. I love the mod myself, playing for a couple of years now, and I just want it to be presented in the best possible light. Show that this is a mod with a rich history (by implying it). The fact that is does is all the better. It isn't a bad thing that the video doesn't have a line saying "been around since..", it's the fact that it could be and isn't. It's what a company would call advertising, or PR-related.
Adding the year would be nice.
