Beautiful knives! No tempering or quenching, so they are only for decorative purposes. I love the mechanical twister to produce the pattern.

There was quenching but questionable and no tempering was shown.

They belong to a historical city which was famous for swords, their ancestors came from Damascus with skills, they are blacksmiths of Wazirabad a city of Pakistan famous for swords in Muslim rule over Indian subcontinent .
@@army-servants How is it that India came to control India after world war 2 when the British gave it up? From everything I've read the Asian Indian people were mostly supplicants to Muslim rule off and on for 1000 years. I don't know if the history I'm reading is accurate. The Muslim population for the most part seems to have the most freedom in many of the countries they rule. Maybe not all of them but they don't seem to be reliant on anyone but themselves and Western Governments more and more are making that impossible for people in their countries. In America in many states the rural population is looked down upon for not earning a lot of money and therefore paying less tax revenue. These communities had a rich culture of Artisans of many trades but they have mostly been destroyed by either political decisions or drugs being funneled to them.

Most converted to Islam. Most traders remained hindu as Islam was not beneficial to them as business ethics were more stricter in Islam. Whereas trading communities do not consider shortchanging, preying on other etc as part of being a trader.
This is probably very similar to how they would make blades back in the day, minus the power tools. But they would have a worker do every process and just pump them out and not focus too much on fit and finish. Of course, back in the day it was more about arming the soldiers, not making a profit.

@@hoorpari3688 Obviously they are neither Solingen nor Sheffield steel, but the merit of those knives is that they are made by human hands and not by anonymous machines. And certainly no two will ever be the same.
@@NicolaP269 the thing is handmade items should be following a certain level of quality, i have bought like 5 knives from various manufacturers in Pakistan, I'm from the same country btw, but these knives have no real life quality when you compare them to a carefully handmade knife from western knife maker. I even make knives and have seen the difference.

Нож, конечно, красивый, но лично у меня есть несколько вопросов-сомнений по поводу его качества:
1) Кузничная сварка пакета, как мне показалось, происходила без внятного использования флюса-той же бурой, (тетроборатом натрия) никто заготовку не посыпал даже. Так что между слоями железа в поковке остались окалины и мусор ,который толком даже не вычистили перед сваркой, что приведёт к ухудшению проковки (представляю лицо владельца, когда в его руках нож в один момент "по швам" разойдётся).
2) В процессе шлифовки металл перегрели-видны были цвета побежалости (посинение), что явно не увеличивает срок жизни и службы клинка.
3) Не уверен в правильном процессе термообработки и последующих мероприятий по снятию внутреннего напряжениЯ после этой самой термообработки.
4) Отверстие под указательный палец, как мне кажется, весьма травмоопасно.
These are shit knives. They mass produce for people that don't know any better and only purchase them because "they look cool."

I love the cardboard spark shield in the cutting wheel. 😏 Life, sight, hearing, limbs, etc are cheap over there, so why should the boss bother about PPE?
Also, with so many people involved, either the knife must be super expensive, or the workers must be paid a pittance...
@@beshbarmax if they can produce 50 knives a day and sell them for 10 usd each that is 500 usd a day (about 110k rupee). hourly labour rate is about 250 rupee which equates to around 2000 rupee per worker. approx 15 workers is 30 000 rupee per day labour cost. Gross net on 50 blades is about 110 000 rupee. running cost, material cost and overhead is probably about more than half of the remaining 80k rupee... still, if there wasnt money to be made they wouldnt have done it. Looks like they could probably easily make at least 100-200 a day... and if they charge 15 or 20 dollars a knife bulk, you are starting to look at a rather profitable business...
Nah, they just use common sense and awareness to keep safe, you know, like the world did before OSHA came into the picture 51 years ago.

Aside from the lack of safety, the craftsmanship is impressive.
That’s what I enjoy the most of the videos, lack of safety. Safety is overrated and for pusses. In my opinion these are real men doing real jobs like we used to in America.

I’m would hate to be around when someone slips while sharpening a finished blade. Leather sandals AT BEST for protection, sitting cross-legged with a blade just WAITING to get caught on a felt wheel. Man, those guys are brave!
